McDonald's in Japan is honestly way better than anywhere else in the world. The staff take pride in their work, following procedures properly so you end up with freshly made burgers not dripping with grease like you get in the UK. Probably because unlike the West, Japanese people dont want to eat fried food that is swimming in grease.

Poor Grimace, he has been forgotten after not being used in the US or UK for so long. Back in the 70s, 80s and 1990s, Grimace was part of the McDonald's mascots like Ronald McDonald and Hamburgler. But since the late 90s, the US and UK have stopped featuring them in commercials or packaging, so not surprising the younger people don't know them.

I live in Sapporo, so I have a whole bunch of fantastic Japanese options all around me (and I avail myself of 'em, to be sure!). But I still make it a point to pop into the McD's in Susukino (across the intersection from the famous "Nikka Whisky Guy" sign) a couple times a month. Japanese McDonalds is that good. Bonus: the food you get in your order actually looks like the food on the menu pictures.
That's awesome! We can totally agree with everything you're saying - in McDonald's in Japan, you can get what you want (based on pictures) and pay a fair price for it while enjoying it (VERY MUCH) at the same time too 😍 We wanted to badly to visit Sapporo and overall the island of Hokkaido but this time around we've been travelling only to warm countries and going there Nov/Dec time would mean changing all our clothes haha

Oh, really? We've heard so may times that actually people were complaining about the quality of McDonald's in the US... But I believe it might be a personal preference :) The service and atmosphere was definitely the best in Japan we've ever had!!!
Did the creator of this video get permission from McDonald's Japan or this particular store before filming? I'm also curious as a viewer about whether they obtained consent from other customers who appear in the video. Just kindly asking.
Well, you guys are from the UK, right? I believe almost no Japanese knows there are many kinds of hamburger shops and chain stores in the U.S. I really miss that American junk-food taste. Really.
Jay is from the UK, and I'm from Poland (also half German) :) Really??? For us when you think about the US, first thing that comes to your mind in terms of the dishes is Turkey (for Thanksgiving) and fast food 😂
@@JayandKarolina Cool. Cześć, jak się masz? You know what, I also love American pizzas. I know Italian is kinda the best. Today, you can find Italian-styled ones easily in Japan. That't ok. But Amerivan pizza chain stores came to Japan earlier. So for the Japanse like me, a pizza reminds me of the American pizza, like Shakey's stuff. They are served cold and too salty. But that's what I want. Just like , my body desperately want the real junk food. Ha!
I thought MacDonald's menu was the same all over the world, but the Japanese menu is different? How does the taste of MacDonald's in Japan compare to the rest of the world? Japan is a country that is very strict about the taste of its food, so I am sure you will like it!
We literally every time we change countries we are curious how different McDonald's will taste 😂 And really often the flavours are beyond comparison! Very similar tasting simple burgers but the fries are sometimes a big disappointment. In Japan, on the other hand, everything was really delicious - fresh (it didn't taste like fast food), non-greasy and packed in colourful packaging!!!
I haven't tried to use the English translated menu at McDonald's Japan. I think they did wrong translation because you don't know what is Sankaku. Sankaku is a triangle in Japanese. Also, the delivery man had to tell which drinking straw you have to use. You guys gor wrong one each. Jay had to pick the drinking straw with spoon. Perhpas you didni't realize it was spoon. You could spoon up your float with the spoon straw. Perhaps, Japanese think you would know it because that drinking straw don't get in the other drink's lid. Maybe that's Japanese service. Sorry.
We find the translation to be pretty good but sometimes it fails - thanks for letting us know! :) Regarding the straws, it’s actually funny to realise it now that we used the wrong ones because at that time we had no idea. Thanks for sharing!
One thing I noticed is that you're shooting other customers sitting nearby. I'm not sure about foreigners, but many Japanese don't want to appear in somebody else's RUclips video for quite a length of time and their faces be shown all around the world without notice or permission while they are unaware. I think you'd better adjust your camera angles to avoid that.
We never try to put people’s faces intentionally into our vlog. However, when we film in public spaces it’s somehow inevitable that people will appear on our videos :)
@ I follow a RUclipsr who is from UK and now lives in Japan with her Japanese husband. She blurs other people's faces before posting on RUclips, just as most Instagrammers including myself do in Japan. I think almost all Japanese feel it necessary to do so.
Do a favor to yourselves and go to the Japanese (brand) chains. MOS Burger is better, Komeda Coffee have the best bread. Both use way less chemicals than Mcs, at the end the Mcs are the worse choice because their taste is totally artificial and they depend heavily on chemicals.
Hey it’s fair enough to express your opinion but at least tell me what I’m doing wrong? It’s a little bit harsh to criticise someone and not even tell them why. It comes off a little passive aggressive.
@ not to be passive aggressive maybe I am just spoiled but sometimes you are so far ahead of her, or even like you can see she wants to try things with you but you don’t wait for her or offer her 😩 again maybe I am spoiled but yall are traveling the world together. Idk I love watching you guys but sometimes I just would like for you to be more attentive to her she’s so beautiful and kind.
What do you guys think of McDonald's in Japan? 🍟 Is it THE BEST in the World? 😄🇯🇵

its a public space, no consent is needed
ぜひ、モスバーガーを味わってほしい。日本というより、私のオススメ
Thanks! What's your favourite thing to have from Mos Burger? 😍
That's coke + soft serve ice cream.
Ha!
🍔❤
🥰🥤🍔
Is different in any country, you can find videos about that in mass on RUclips.
シャカシャカするのは、あんまり気にしすぎないでいいですよ😊
Everywhere else is rubbish compared to Japan, I realized that about 10 years ago, but it's better late than never
練馬駅のマックやん
I had McDonald's in Bankok and I got food poisoning for almost 3 days.
That must have been such a bad experience for you 🥵 We didn’t have McDonald’s in Thailand so it’s hard to say how fresh it is over there!
モスバーガーもいいよ。
Hi karolina we are in warsaw
Great to hear!!! Have fun 😍🎄🥟🇵🇱
Great to know! Thanks for sharing :) We would need to give both them places a try!
Lol - Shakashaka (シャカシャカ)literally just means ‘shake shake’ (has other meanings too).
That’s what we assumed but it sounds so cool from foreigners perspective 😂👍
Unlike in the U.S., McDonald's patties in Japan do not contain human tissue.
😳😳
We only get the McCrap here in America. Shrug. LOL.
😂😂😂😂 This made us laugh! But we do feel sorry that even sometimes even fast food doesn’t taste good in the US…
Aussie maccas are the worst! Feels like the burger has been thrown around and stomped on before serving.
So a lot like America
It's crazy that McDonald's even though it's standardized, somehow the ingredients and the choices vary around the world 🤯
Jay maybe start being more of a gentleman to Karolina. Thanks.
正直マクドナルドはどこも変わらん😂
For us in each country we’re trying it, the whole McDonald’s experience is completely different 🥳👍🏼
Please consider blurring peoples faces. Privacy is very important in Japan.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
エビが1番だよ。私はね。
I agree 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 It was so delicious [Karolina] 🍤
why would you eat mcdonals in japan? you're in japan
We like to test it out in different countries and believe it or not but we loved it 😍👍🏼
