Why Me Lord, I was Lost, I was abused when I was young, there was no one who loves me as much as you, thank you Jesus, Yes My Soul is in your Hands, I love you Lord, you gave me Love that is so true. Yes Lord Help me through this time I am here
breathe. be gentle with yourself. i know what you mean; life can be rough and downright disheartening, especially with everything going on right now. don't allow that feeling to grow; it isn't the truth. we are never alone. change the things you can that will make things better, and try not to get hung up on what you can't change; adapt. look for the things for which you are grateful, and do what you can to be of service to others- and i mean even just a smile to brighten someone else's day- and you might be surprised to find God is actually very close. i've had to remind myself of this very recently, too. be well. 💜
I am too. I was a teenager when I first heard it and I sit down at the piano and played it, back in those days I only had to listen to the song one time and I could sit down and play now that I am 62 years old I'm out of practice
Sept, 29, 2024... RIP Kris. Just got news Kris is no longer with us and has gone to be with Our Lord. Thank you for the years of singing, playing the guitar, writing fantastic music, and acting. You'll be forever missed. ❤ 🙏 ❤
Surely one of the most beautiful songs written and sung by kris kristopherson Thank you sir It gives me so much peace to listen to this song when I lay in bed with pain.
I'm impressed with your Profile and personality, and I also admire your good sense of humor on here, I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserved this compliment, hope you don't mind us being good friends 🌹
Incredibly beautiful!! Praise Jesus! I have parkinson's disease but every morning I try and walk around outside as much as possible while praying and listening to this song on my phone.
And I can't understand anyone who would refuse such an opportunity for Salvation and sharing their resurrection with JESUS CHRIST in the KINGDOM of Heaven...Amen!!!
I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for this song playing at the right time and the right place, and I'm sure there are plenty of other folks that can say the same thing. Thank you Sir for being a vessel of Gods mercy.
My wife had stage 4 colon cancer It was in the last stages. The doctors removed all of it I asked Jesus not to take her. He brought her back to me. He said my child I've got her. She's going to be ok. Trust me. And this song Has been stuck in my head
Amen! 1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
I will pray for her my name is Debbie I'm going through my own little problems with my heart but I will pray for her take care and God bless and God is good he's great
God Bless everyone on these comments. My Father used to sing this song when I was a child. It brings back a lot of memories and at the same time a lot of understanding of how blessed we are to be chosen, messengers of God.
I look forward to the day I can hug this man for this beautiful song. It brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. This song speaks to the many of us who were once lost and are now found. Yes I am a man and when I hear this song I cry because at one time I was in so much pain I wanted to end it all just to stop the pain. But one day, one glorious and eternal day, a day I will remember for all eternity, I asked God why he loved me, why he loved a wretch like me. And God answered me with these words..."I love you because you are mine." What beautiful words. I wasn't lost or alone or forgotten anymore. I was his child just as I was but he would not let me stay that way. He healed a broken man. A man who for 10 years thought about ending it all every day. So much pain, so much sorrow but God took this wretched orphan and adopted him for no other reason than he loved me. Now every day God is guiding me, transforming me and making me the true man he wants me to be. It's not an easy path but it's the right path. And he gives me the strength to continue. I can rejoice, yes I said rejoice, now because I know without any doubts I will see Jesus some day. Jesus is my Savior. Jesus will never leave me nor forsake me. Jesus' steadfast love endures forever.
❤I love your testimony! He is The Wounded Healer🙏🏼May The Lord continue to Bless You 🙏🏼. “They overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony” See you in Heaven❤ Sir
This song poses a question. We all need to ask ourselves. Jesus has given us so much including His life and His love. We need to acknowledge and show our appreciation for all that we have received.
@@IgniriumJust let Him love you! "Little" things will start happening so pay attention. He loves you SO MUCH MORE than you can ever hope for or imagine. I'm happy for you dear one! 💜💫💜💫💜

Kris Kristofferson is one in a million and has touched so many lives, hearts and souls. He will be among the Angels for sure. 73 years of age and have loved him since the first time I heard him sing. We were blessed with him and his talent. Rest in paradise but know you will never be forgotten.
I read John 15:16 this morning where Jesus said “You did not choose Me, but I chose you.” And I asked Him.Why me Lord? And then I listened to this beautiful song and my soul was deeply moved.
Thanks for your love and support that has brought me this far, it has been a hard time for me going through this but your love and support keeps me going and standing strong in this difficult times. I do read your heartwarming comments and I truly appreciate all you’ve done for me throughout the years.
Deceived Christians think that they chose Jesus. True Christians know that God chose them and Jesus paid for their sins. Why does visible church preach that a lost soul has the ability to seek Jesus?
Yeah I remember hearing this song A lot when I was a little kid in the 70s. And I always liked it. It was played at my grandma's funeral back in 2000. Always going to miss Kris Kristofferson now. You know just wrote some really good songs for a lot of great singers.
This song touches my heart every time I hear it. I feel so undeserving at times of God’s love, but I know he’s always there for us. Thank you for this beautiful song
✨🥀✨ Beautiful song. Singing “Jehovah” instead of “Lord” probably would be too revolutionary for many Christians. But the fact is that while you use in this song the word “Lord” you don’t mean Jesus but his Father. Jesus’ Father’s Divine Name is usually not mentioned by Christians because it creates for them confusion in the context of Trinity but also in the context of Jehovah’s Witnesses activity and teaching. And they are reasoning that we still should have in use God’s Divane Name what we can see in the Hebrew Scriptures. Jesus was worshipping his Father. He was praying to Him and had full trust that he will manage thanks to Him to fulfill his will. The word “Trinity “ that doesn’t appear in the Bible took away God’s Divine Name from Sacred Scriptures: the Sacred Name which doesn’t exist only in the Hebrew Scriptures but also in the Greek Ones [New Testament]. At every place in New Testament where Jesus is reading (or make a quotation) from Scriptures we can see today as a substitution of the Divine Name “Jehovah” the word “Lord”. The word “Lord” can apply for Jesus, for his Father or even for someone who has higher position than you. At Luke 4: 16- 30 we can read as the following: / Do you like it ? / 16 “And he came to Nazʹa·reth,+ where he had been reared; and, according to his custom on the sabbath day, he entered into the synagogue,+ and he stood up to read. 17 So the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed him, and he opened the scroll and found the place where it was written: 18 “Jehovah’s* spirit+ is upon me, because he anointed* me to declare good news to the poor, he sent me forth to preach a release to the captives and a recovery of sight to the blind, to send the crushed ones away with a release,+ 19 to preach Jehovah’s* acceptable year.”+ 20 With that he rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were intently fixed upon him. 21 Then he started to say to them: “Today this scripture that YOU just heard* is fulfilled.”+ 22 And they all began to give favorable witness about him and to marvel at the winsome words+ proceeding out of his mouth, and they were saying: “This is a son of Joseph, is it not?”+ 23 At this he said to them: “No doubt YOU will apply this illustration* to me, ‘Physician,+ cure yourself; the things+ we heard as having happened in Ca·perʹna·um+ do also here in your home territory.’”+ 24 But he said: “Truly I tell YOU that no prophet is accepted in his home territory. 25 For instance, I tell YOU in truth, There were many widows in Israel in the days of E·liʹjah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, so that a great famine fell upon all the land,+ 26 yet E·liʹjah was sent to none of those [women], but only to Zarʹe·phath*+ in the land of Siʹdon to a widow. 27 Also, there were many lepers in Israel in the time of E·liʹsha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, but Naʹa·man the man of Syria.”+ 28 Now all those hearing these things in the synagogue became filled with anger;+ 29 and they rose up and hurried him outside the city, and they led him to the brow of the mountain* upon which their city had been built, in order to throw him down headlong.+ 30 But he went through the midst of them and continued on his way.+” www.jw.org/en/library/bible/bi12/books/luke/4/
I am a Korean Christian. My grandfather came to believe in Jesus through an American missionary, became a pastor, and I live as a third generation pastor. NEEDED JESUS IN MY LIFE.JUST HAVE TO SAY THANK YOU JESUS FOR SHOWING DEAR KRIS THIS LIFE SAVING MESSAGE.THANK YOU LORD TO MY SISTER WHO'S WITH JESUS NOW.🙏✝️👶✝️🙏
Jesus, Jesus Jesus! Sometimes that's all I can say, because I don't know how to pray the right way. I love the Lord Jesus with all my heart and soul and nothing can separate us from My Sweet Lord! He willingly was nailed to a tree, had nails piercing his hands and his feet, for no other reason then he loved us so! Do not let the dark side convince you that his blood wasn't enough to forgive every and all of your sins! There isn't a sin great enough to undo what our beautiful Savior did on Calvary!
Gosh! Gosh! This song is so very beautiful, it will touch ur heart & im sure that we all knows that we need god in our lives! In our everyday lives cause he will never fail us!

This is such an amazing song! We all say "why me?" when bad things happen. We should be wondering that when good things happen. None of us do anything to deserve the many blessings that the good Lord bestows upon us.
For those believers, upon awakening and turning in simply say "Thank You Jesus" Truly a heartfelt song sung by a true believer. Thank you Chris. This song has given hope to many.
I've always loved this song. I know a man that was fighting Alzheimer's, he didn't even know his children any longer, but they played this song a few days before he died and he knew every word. Tears ran down his face as he sang. Beautiful moment!
If this is true dear you need to be collecting Royalties ,Kris Kristofferson was a great songwriter, but as far as I know hasn't written any other Christian orGospel songs...He does make himself out to be the writer of this song
+Eva Grossman ?? I never said he did write any other gospel songs? Just telling a beautiful memory regarding this song. He did however, write "Sunday morning coming down"
greeneyeslinz I had a similar experience while my wife was struggling with Alzheimer's. We continued to attend church and sit up front. Brunetta rarely sang or did so very softly because she always said she had a poor voice and couldn't hold a tune. The song leader announced "O, what a Savior." I was singing along enthusiastically and realized I could hear a voice to my left. I looked at Brunetta and realized she was singing on key with a beautiful voice. My family has always believed it was God's way of making up for her loss of regular speech. Rick
You're doing it wrong I'm pretty sure brother. He's supposed to live through you, not you living through him. He wouldn't want you to miss the opportunities he has given you brother.
I first heard Kris' music when I was 16. This is by far my favorite song by him, and many years ago, I told my children that this is to be played at my funeral. It hits home. Thank you for the music, Kris. Rest in Peace.
To the man who doesn't think Kris is that great, try writing as many hits as he did for the caliber of stars who performed them. This man is an amazing artist.
Sandy Conley I agree! I've always loved Kris Kristofferson but this is the first time I've heard this. I was moved and impressed once again and reminded of how much I love and respect him as an artist. I'm glad I didn't see the comment you are referring to. I purposely will not look. I am tired of people who are incapable of appreciating great beauty. It is a quality that I have great difficulties dealing with. As Kris aptly expressed it "Lord help me Jesus" I certainly do in having to deal with people like this. :)
We'll see Kris when we get there thanks to the Godman ,precious Jesus based on what he said in his testimony about this song. He closed every show with this song... awesome!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

How beautiful, Kris asks what he himself ever did, to deserve the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are each so important to our Lord. We don't have to be famous, beautiful, talented, successful...... Our Lord loves us equally, no matter what. How amazing this is, let us hold onto this through our lives, let us rely on this, let us marvel at our Lord's absolute love.
This reminds me of when my mom got saved and filled with the Holy Spirit back in the 70’s.Been thinking about her a lot today, and I thank God that He gave me a praying momma.♥🙏🏻

John 3:18-21 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

breathe. be gentle with yourself. i know what you mean; life can be rough and downright disheartening, especially with everything going on right now. don't allow that feeling to grow; it isn't the truth. we are never alone. change the things you can that will make things better, and try not to get hung up on what you can't change; adapt. look for the things for which you are grateful, and do what you can to be of service to others- and i mean even just a smile to brighten someone else's day- and you might be surprised to find God is actually very close. i've had to remind myself of this very recently, too.
be well. 💜

Amen

This song poses a question. We all need to ask ourselves. Jesus has given us so much including His life and His love. We need to acknowledge and show our appreciation for all that we have received.

Hello!!! How are you doing? Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you are a fan? Have a great day… Stay Safe!
I read John 15:16 this morning where Jesus said “You did not choose Me, but I chose you.”
And I asked Him.Why me Lord?

At Luke 4: 16- 30 we can read as the following:
/ Do you like it ? /
16 “And he came to Nazʹa·reth,+ where he had been reared; and, according to his custom on the sabbath day, he entered into the synagogue,+ and he stood up to read. 21 Then he started to say to them: “Today this scripture that YOU just heard* is fulfilled.”+
22 And they all began to give favorable witness about him and to marvel at the winsome words+ proceeding out of his mouth, and they were saying: “This is a son of Joseph, is it not?”+ 23 At this he said to them: “No doubt YOU will apply this illustration* to me, ‘Physician,+ cure yourself; the things+ we heard as having happened in Ca·perʹna·um+ do also here in your home territory.’”+ 24 But he said: “Truly I tell YOU that no prophet is accepted in his home territory. 27 Also, there were many lepers in Israel in the time of E·liʹsha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, but Naʹa·man the man of Syria.”+ 28 Now all those hearing these things in the synagogue became filled with anger;+ 29 and they rose up and hurried him outside the city, and they led him to the brow of the mountain* upon which their city had been built, in order to throw him down headlong.+ 30 But he went through the midst of them and continued on his way.+”

There isn't a sin great enough to undo what our beautiful
Savior did on Calvary!
There is no right or wrong way to pray. You just talk to Him and praise Him in your own words and way. Keep on sharing your life. You’re doing great

He did however, write "Sunday morning coming down"
+Eva Grossman Jesus was a Capricorn comes to mind real quick. Listen carefully to Sunday Morning Coming Down.
Save the best for last
greeneyeslinz I had a similar experience while my wife was struggling with Alzheimer's. Rick
Just Beautiful. I heared this song when I was a kid. Now I am 46 and it is just beautiful!
Giving My life to Jesus is all that counts....32years now I'll never regret it ever...Thank you Jesus....❤️😊

John 3:18-21
He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

A truly gut wrenching song if you listen carefully to the words. The worst hell is knowing you have made mistakes and wanting to fix them, but not knowing how to do it.
😭 So true...
my dad didnt like music, of any kind.
about 6 years ago.....he heard this on the radio driving one day....and asked who it was.
given dad doesnt have the technology bug in his later years, he was at the mercy of only listening for it on the radio.
we played it one last time for him when we laid him to rest on the 13th of sept 2021.
such a great song.
for all that read this.....please....love your family while you can.
as, every day that goes by, is a chance that you wont have the option to tomorrow.
be well.
be kind.
love, and understand.......accept.
Ty for this post, I was feeling sad N lost and I found this song N your post. Pls keep me in prayer. I'm so tired, im broken 😭😭😭😭

I've always been a believer but I tried everything except really surrender to Him. Now that I have, life is so much sweeter. Thanks again Jesus 😀
Don't worry life will bring you to your knees

Me to. O my. What have I become.
@@paulsnow9136 Don't dwell on that too much, you have not become anything that God did not make provision in Christ to forgive and deliver you from. Even in our lowest moments, if we look up at His face what we find is a loving Father.1John 4:19 " We love because he first loved us." His love is all over you even as I type-Accept it in Jesus Name.
This is the first Gospel song 🎵 I ever heard as a kid and I still love it.
I'm impressed with your Profile and personality, and I also admire your good sense of humor on here, I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserved this compliment, hope you don't mind us being good friends 🌹

This one is one of my favourites (Why me Lord?) and others : For the Good Times, Sunday morning coming down, Help me make it through the night
O and one of his latests 'thank you for a life, that I call happy'. Just to see the guy is already heartwarming.
Nobody sings it like Kris Kristofferson, my favorite tune
Agree but Johnny cash is cool too

My dad was a singer. We didn't go to church much. Actually very rarely. But he loved to spread his love through singing, and would actually cry when he sang this song on our rare church visits. Allmost always, after he was done singing, the front of the church that was empty, became full!
Hello there, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a peaceful day?🥰🌹

RIP Kris. Thanks for this incredible song ❤
Wow! How l wish that today's church would go back to these old times classic gospel hits.
WHY me LORD
Why me Lord what have I ever done
To deserve even one of the pleasures I've known
Tell me, Lord, what did I ever do
That was worth lovin' you or the kindness you've shown
Lord help me, Jesus, I've wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
But now that I know that I've needed you so
Help me, Jesus, my soul's in your hand
Try me, Lord, if you think there's a way
I can try to repay all I've taken from you
Maybe Lord I can show someone else
What I've been through myself, on my way back to you
Lord help me, Jesus, I've wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
But now that I know that I've needed you so
Help me, Jesus, my soul's in your hand
Lord help me, Jesus, I've wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
But now that I know that I've needed you so
Help me Jesus my souls in your hand
Jesus, my soul's in your hand.
