Benoit Crowned 2022 APP SUP Surf World Champion at Gran Canaria Pro-Am

The 2022 Gran Canaria Pro-Am Finals Day had it all. In front of a huge crowd at El Lloret, Starboard Dream Team rider Benoit Carpentier claims his well-deserved first APP World Tour Title.
"What a feeling - it's crazy! It was the perfect final, opening with a good score. I almost fell on the first wave but I managed to make it and keep going. Then my next wave I got a 9.44, so it put me in a super good spot. From there I just had to play with the priority.
I've been on tour a long time now, and I never won any contests, so it was a good year to win with only one comp. So I'm very happy with my year - what a way to end it. I am super crazy stoked"

And what a day it was a day to remember in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as we witnessed a fleet of world-class surfers charge El Lloret at its very best in pristine 10-foot waves.
Ben was surfing the new 2023 Starboard Pro 7’0″ x 24″ / 75 L - a model which had lots of development input.
