Common opinion on Jhiaxus is he’s a great figure. But that yellowing is unforgivable, and likely the reason he shelf warmed (Hell, he’s still on shelves at both my local Walmarts)
Sexy video as usual. I don't own any of these figures, but visually I agree with all your points......except Knockout. His crime is not being BAD, it's being BORING. And Knockout should NOT be BORING.
1.15 Err I think Elita-1 is a redeco off the Headmaster Minvera eventhought Elita-1 came out first. The mold is more pefect as Minerva especially how the shoulder pauldon works?
Elita came first so for the purposes of keeping things chronologically accurate, Minerva is the redeco But I am willing to bet that they probably took a lot of influence from Minerva for the design itself
I'm not gonna lie, for the longest time I only really cared about getting Autobot Transformers because...i don't know. It's the side I chose to join? Regardless, I picked up Jhiaxus on a whim and now I just get transformers of any group. Even picked up my first Quinteson faction this year in the form of a sharkticon (which I love btw). Essentially Jhiaxus was so good to me that I decided it was time to branch out and collect other factions too, much to the dismay of my wallet.
Picked up Jhiaxus, Blitzwing, Knockout, and most recently Wildrider. Wildrider looks good as a care, and serves well as a leg insert but not much else. Really like the other 3 though. Jhiaxus though his alt mode isn't comics accurate, it still a much better iteration than that Armada Starscream retool in Thrilling30. Fun fact. Apparently the Beast Machines Jetstorm was also recolored as Jhiaxus at some point. Only ever had the BH Knockout and probably one of worst deluxe figures I've ever handled. Legacy one despite not being completely accurate is still a better toy in almost everyway. Blitzwing about the best version we've gotten from Hasbro and probably one of the best attempts at a triple changer ever. Haven't gotten Sandstorm yet but I don't see him really comparing as to many dumb decisions were made throughout production. Nice to see also I'm not the only one excited about the Breakdown two pack. despite it being Bulkhead with a different head.
The only flaws with Sandstorm is the jank back of the dune buggy and his chest plate untabbing (just tighten up the hinge connecting to the chest plate and you’re good).
The shoulders for Knockout specifically are what throw me off. Like, they aren't as pretty as the show model, which I get, because how do you make them look like that on the toy without making them clunky or weird during transformation? Plus that added splash of red not being on his upper arms makes me a teensy bit sad. However, as an overall Knockout figure, this clears. Not the ideal ideal flamboyant doctor, but until like a Reactivate figure comes out, he's solid. Kinda wish he came with the buzzsaw he has in the show instead of the spear but I mean, eh
My personal theory for the prime figures disrespect is that, they kind of suck. Like bayverse figures may be messy, incomprehensible blobs, but they still have clear parts designed to go somewhere. Prime designers basically pulled the middle finger of the gods into any toy line that dares to incorporate them.
A really good way of summarising it tbf It's definitely a format that needs G1-ifying to make physically possible as opposed to Animated and the UT (interestingly some of the examples to feature stock and, therefore, very visible transformations)

Siege Soundwave's alt mode is suspiciously resembling of a Caestus Assault Ram from Warhammer 40k. I can't really unsee it.

Jhiaxus is great, the yellowing is pretty bad though yeah. Still less bad of yellowing than Siege Soundwave lol
I mean the yellowing is better than my Netflix Soundwave and the Kingdom Cyclonus when I had him
Parts of mine have gone slightly green, I barely notice it most of the time
@@TheSheepWielder Rest in Piss Kingdom Dinobot
Perspective end made me realize Wildrider and Breakdown were just the CW car mold with feet
Because they are. Hasbro literally said that they are retooled Combiner wars figures
@@Autobot-Revswhere was that said? I can’t find anything about them being CW retools
13:08 Jhiaxus was never a scientist in Marvel G2, that was only an IDW thing. In the original comic he was a war general/imperialist.
Thank you, that does make a lot more sense. I'll admit with comic stuff, a lot of what I know is purely through second hand convo
Yeah Legacy Tarantulas is just... just the best. Genuinely a perfect update to the old figure.
Maybe I’m on copium but I feel like people who complain about the siege Soundwave alt mode have never seen a big bulky space freighter in sci fi
6:04 their original toys were the same mold, the new ones are new molds due to their animation models being radically different

That's fair, really
Shoulda retooled someone better, albeit idk who
@@TheSheepWielder Tell Joe Hasbro next time: Make Knockout his own new mold, then make legacy DotM Dino out of it to double your money.
Jhiaxus and Tarantulas are pretty awesome and Blitzwing is kinda neat
0:40 oh my god i never thought of it like that 😆

Your Jihaxus is probably as discolored as mine
I just got that jhiaxus figure two day ago lol
Blitzwing is a great figure so sad that I sold it 3 weeks after I got it I knew I was going to regret it and I definitely do
He goes for fairly cheap now if you wanna track him down
"jar worthy"

Sandstorm is fundamentally more fun than Blitzwing tbh

@@TheSheepWielder Waiting on that review then. Should have him arriving early June. Transformation looking a lot more simple

Yeah, I still don't understand the presence of the spear when it didn't work the first time
I didn't realize I had so much of this wave! guess I do

That PE clip where he slowed down Knockout to show how prime designs just have parts clip through each other is still so wild to me
Hope you're having a good day
Same to you!
Ew who's that bag of wet hair at 8:37?!?!
I prefer Jhiaxus as a mould to Tarn.
