Loved Hatfield & McCoy trails so much we have gone there twice in 5 months from southern Indiana. We would love to live there and ride the trails everyday. It’s a great way my wife and I spend fun time together. It’s challenging and fun! When we went in May it was extremely muddy. In October 2019 the trails were perfect. No dust. The people in West Virginia are awesome and very friendly. Planning on another trip there again soon. Thanks for the video
This has been on my bucket list for years.! Wanted to go 20 years ago but my friends had tight wallets. Lol. Now at 55 years old, I'm making my first trip in 2 weeks. Staying at Twin Hollows, my wife and I ride 4x4 utility atv's. So I'll be looking for upgraded trails, we are from Michigan, and we like to ride the 50" trails, it puts us away from big side by side traffic.! We want to ride the less traveled trails. So, if you csn recommend any trails, I'd appreciate it. We are experienced riders, with winches on both our machines plus a tow strap, and tools if needed.
I have some family in Delbarton and Red Jacket. Back when my Uncle James was alive, he was a game warden and his sole responsibilities were trail maintenance and new trail construction for the Hatfield-McCoy system. This was back when they first started it.
Some of the best times and memories that I will carry with me forever were from my HM trips. The folks from WVA are some of the nicest people I've ever met and is one of the reasons I like going down there. This past fall we came off the trail into Williamson and couldn't find the place we were looking for. A local gentleman flagged us down, asked us if we were lost and gave us a personal escort to the place we were looking for. It doesn't get any better than that.
This is the Buffalo trail, which is only 1 out of I’m going say 7 trails systems that’s spread out over numerous towns. And the guy is absolutely right when he talks about the people and them making you feel at home. With all the trails there is approximately 11 to 1200 miles of Hartville McCoy trails, and that’s not counting they call them out loud trails which are not part of the Hatfield McCoy. If you are into dirt bike side-by-side trail riding it will be heaven
You'll love it down here! I think my favorite feature is that you can ride all day without dead-ends and repeating trails like you would typically do on Outlaw Trails.
Navigate Offroad if you go to the west side, MI TRALE has a great map book for around 10 bucks. There’s trail ride planners in the book also, if you’re into waterfalls and so on.
I've ridden just a fraction of the Hatfield and McCoy's trails. There is nothing like it in the world to me. Its been a couple years since I've been but life is meant to be enjoyed and will make it back really soon. God bless the Appalachian trail systems. In Jesus Christ name amen
West Virginia Wild and Wonderful, very beautiful state, amazing and friendly people, I enjoy watching your videos, very nice job guys!!! Thank you for sharing!
My brother, his wife and I went there in the spring of 2013 and stayed in Jeff Hatfield's cabins in Matewan, WV and rode from them just a short piece to the Buffalo Mountain Trail. We had a Dollar General store right next to our cabins and a fantastic restaurant right down below us in Jeff's store and a gas station across the river along with a grocery store next to it I'd love to go back again
Since you rode all the trail systems. Which ones did you like the best? I’ve never been there and want to go but I will be prob on a smaller budget than yens. I have a 1998 Quadrunner 500 4x4 that I’d be bringing. Are they strict on titles and registration on quads? I only have a bill of sale for mine and don’t register it.
You guys must have came down here during the drought. The dust usually aint that bad unless we go awhile without rain. We had a long stint of no rain and trails got very dusty! Great video!
Was there in Sept for the first time. Rode Devil Anse, Buffalo and a little bit of Rockhouse. Only downfall was the dust! Making another trip in just a few weeks 🤙
Hey Luke ,we actually live in Ontario near Belleville and are planning our first trip to Hatfield McCoy for this year ! Your show really helps us out on figuring some things out . We plan on staying in the Williamson,Man,Gilbert or Matewan area but havent decided where yet . Would definitely like to get your opinion on what you guys would suggest . Plan on riding Rock House, Devils Anse and Buffalo Mountain and possibly trailering down to Pocahontas for a day during our 4 or 5 days there .
A group of us did the Zombie Trail 10/31/2020 on the Buffalo/Devil Anse trails and had one of the best days ever! The towns people were all very nice and was great to see the town Halloween bash that evening in Williamson. The Mayor and actor who played Michael Myers in the original "Halloween" was there and greeted us as well. Very friendly area.
Ive ridden there dozens of times now and have never had any problems with the trails being two way. Never had even a slight close call. Most riders are very responsible and everyone seems to be very courteous.
I grew up there. I've heard rumors that the trail system is going to expand into LC near the Wayne county side but I have never seen any proof of a plan. Maybe someday it'll happen and bring some much needed business into the county.
Izom We went in May 2019 and we were very muddy. Went Oct 2019 had no dust. It rained while we were there and it was perfect! Love , love H&M trails and West Virginia! Planning on going again in May 2020! So much fun! We went to Royal Blue in Tennessee in July. Trails are not maintained well at all. Deep ruts and poorly marked trails. Also broke my toe there climbing up some rocks without my boots and the next day fell off the trailer. So still think H&M is the very best!
That’s what I miss about dirt trax television, when they do destinations places. Great video. Keep them coming.

I recently rode part of the western U.P. MI TRALE does a great job on the trails up there.
Northern MI has some awesome looking trails too! Been trying to make it over there for like 2 years 😆
Navigate Offroad if you go to the west side, MI TRALE has a great map book for around 10 bucks. There’s trail ride planners in the book also, if you’re into waterfalls and so on.
I rode the Devil Ance connector and Buffalo Mountain a year ago. Couldn’t get enough of Wingo’s Bar and Grill! I need to get back there again!

Awesome ride! My favorite place to ride too
I've been riding Hatfield McCoy for 10 years, would love to see them chance to one way trails.
How long is your trailer? Just wondering I'm looking for a new trailer now. Just would like to know the length of trailer for 2 x3's
This is super cool, right next to our town in Pikeville KY
Was there in Sept for the first time. Rode Devil Anse, Buffalo and a little bit of Rockhouse. Only downfall was the dust! Making another trip in just a few weeks 🤙
I live mighty close to the i77 bridge... there's still just about the same amount of train cars sitting there😂
Thanks

Went first time last May, and i'm ruined for life. Just an overall amazing place down there to ride, and i can't get back soon enough.
Are those Trails one way they look really skinny with the side by sides.
No everything up there is 2 way.
Ive ridden there dozens of times now and have never had any problems with the trails being two way. Never had even a slight close call. Most riders are very responsible and everyone seems to be very courteous.
I’m not to far from Matewan and Williamson
Just got back from riding the HMT. Best trails to ride and the people are great and very accommodating. Highly recommend doing these HMT.
Love starters In Williamson. Great food!
We definitely ate there... the food was amazing. I would have gone back for ever meal. Lol
Very cool................
Ride to Lincoln co wv

I prefer spring and fall. Much less dust. I'd rather ride in the rain
So in 2 seconds I've learned that you want to be the guy in front....
...that dust !? :- ()
