    Hey Josh! My husband and I love watching your videos. Here's a suggestion. When we buy our RV, I will need a desk. Why not have a convertible dresser/desk top? Dresser top could slide out to create more leg room and good access to an area for properly placed keyboard. Another idea would be to have the top of the dresser or counter area fold out. Every time I see a bedroom with a dresser, I think it's a waste to not have it convert to a "no knee knocker" desk with extra leg room.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 года назад +2

      I love the idea and a VERY small number of brands do provide provisions for a desk in the RV, but it's rare.

    Hey Josh, love your videos!!!! Here's a thought: I live in Texas and currently own a 2019 Alpine I call the "Beast". 42 footer and love it. Here's the but-how come manufacturers don't make a Summer capable version? Heating a unit is typically not an issue. Down here in Central Texas we have already hit 102 this year. Even with 2- 15k BTU AC units, it still struggles on hot days. Why not focus on the cooling issue vs heating? I'm seriously considering putting a third unit in the place in the kitchen where I currently have an exhaust fan.
    Love to hear your thoughts on this subject or a video. Keep up the good work!!!!

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 года назад

      I cannot comment on Alpines. Cougar/Montana have always clocked in excellent ratings not just for cold camping, but hot as well. Cougars have been tested and proven to maintain comfortable cabin temps even in 110 conditions.

    Josh, is a booth standard on most if not all campers or just this brand?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 лет назад +2

      Completely varies by brand. To make building/shopping one of these easier to understand Montana made the booth standard in all "high country" models & table standard in full "Montana" models.
      Obviously table & chairs available as an option for the High Country series.
      Many brands choose the seating that "makes the most sense for that floor plan" to be standard & offers the others as options. The Common logic is usually "If it has bunks, then booth is standard. If no bunks, then table is standard" in those cases, but there are as many exceptions as examples to that line of thought.

  • @whatdoyouthinktodd
    @whatdoyouthinktodd 5 лет назад +1

    What do you think about the starcraft autumn ridge 20mb and what do you sell that has the same floor plan???

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 лет назад +1

      We sell literally the same thing simple called "Open Range" instead of Autumn ridge. They make the same camper under 4 or 5 names. Not ALL starcrafts and open ranges are the same -- but their "stick and tins" are literally the same trailer with different decor/decals (otherwise identical).
      A ton of brands build that layout now. Passport was the first (called the 239ML). You can see a bunch of models with that layout or something similar here: bit.ly/2L5n2Vw

    Nice unit but can't understand why they are still using surface mount cabinet hinges.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 лет назад

      That's a difference between High Country and Full "Montana." High Country models are price/weight sensitive. They do what *matters* first and foremost.
      Surface hinges may not be as "pretty" as hidden hinges, but they function just as well. That's the logic behind a High Country. The multiple examples of those ideas around the RV are also what keeps them *significantly* lighter and less expensive vs. full "Montana" despite being equally functional.

  • @jefflass699

    Got to imagine it won't be too long and we'll see dual Everchill fridges instead of a residential fridge. What sayeth thee, RV Nerd?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 лет назад

      I would rather see that vs. a resi-fridge. The challenge there is the added cost.
      Part of the reason the resi-fridges have found their way into the business is the simple fact that they're notably less expensive vs. a comparably sized gas/elec. You can get more cubic foot of cold storage per dollar with a resi-fridge vs. gas/elec. BUT... more doesn't mean better.
      The offset is you lose a measure of travel reliability with them, servicing them is an absolute nightmare (seriously), and no auto-changeover to propane if power is lost.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 лет назад

      @@jeffrey8439 *Why the bath door change?* Either the pivot door didn't work with this revised bath design (likely), or they're testing to see if a swinging door is something more people would like since things seem to work cyclically.
