Point of interest. There is a room in the castle with an artificial marble interior. The queen preferred the artificial over the real one, because at that time is was much more expensive than buying real marble.

A palace can be a residence of any noble or aristocratic family (Palazzo Medici-Ricardi, Doge's palace etc), I'm an art historian and that's literally what they're called. It's a type of residential building, not necessarily related to a royal family.
Did every European royal family look at Versailles and were like we can do better. Literally each European country and its royal family had their own Versailles
They had palaces you mean? Versailles wasn't the first Royal palace ever built? A palace is simply a type of building that royal and aristocratic families could afford to build, so they did.
@@Beanhill_94 this palace has nothing to do with Versailles. tanya that is actually partially correct. The french and their court in Versailles was considered the pinnacle of opulence and sophistication in the 17th and 18th centuries. As the result, many royal palaces in Europe intentionally sought to emulate the layout and style of Versailles, with some local flairs. Examples include the Catherine Palace of Russia, Rundale Palace of Latvia, Caserta Palace of Italy, and Charlottenburg Palace in Germany.
This palace in Gödöllő is indeed beautiful but hardly the "answer" to Versaille! The one doing that is the Esterházy Palace in Fertőd, which is not even the largest palace the Esterházys built...

Nice villa, can't even compare to Versailles though :p
Of course it is much more simple than Versailles, because France was richer country than Hungary.

I am a writer in Gödöllő and I go down to that palace every second day to write and dream. Love to see it presented to foreigners
If you want to see the real Hungarian Versailles look up the Eszterházy Castle in Fertőd.

The music felt really out of place; kinda loud and really not fitting to the topic.

Empress Sissi was also quite fond of her summer palace in Corfu, The Achellion. Why don't you make video about that too ?

I wish the presenter would make a little effort to pronounce the name of the castle correctly-or at least a little closer to the real Magyar word.

Hey Great Big Story, just hire a native speaker to say the names you clearly can't pronounce, huh?
P Exactly. The names aren’t even that difficult to pronounce. Google Translate will pronounce it quite accurately. They just didn’t even try.
Good luck finding native speakers for every location.
