    If I was ever asked " where in the world would you go if you could only have one trip"....it would be right there with a cuppa tea in your circle & just sit & take it all in. It truly is an amazing place. 💜😘🌻

    I think you are right I have wished for red Twig Dogwood and raspberries and they have appeared out of nowhere in my yard. I was thinking the other day that those who love Mother Earth will receive abundant love back from her. I believe you have received her gifts.

    I am amazed at how beautiful your land is. I am also jealous but so grateful that you share it all. It has made my day so much happier. I hope we can have our own little place one day and we can make it as wonderful as yours!

    You must have been the most amazing mother. "Don't stake the trees. They'll grow up stronger. Their roots will go deeper." That certainly works with children. And when the pine tree blew over, your knew that its "differentness" would one day become its wind-resistance. That also works with children. And the playfulness with shaking out the pollen. Yes, your children were lucky to have been raised by you.

    I just had to mention I'm using your videos to learn how to watercolor! My daughter gave me a 70 page mixed media notebook. So I sit with your videos, pause when I need to, & am cataloguing your gorgeous plants...the paper is really too thin for water, but I have half a notebook of curly pages I am so proud of! So many leaves & flowers I have never seen before...& so many, so familiar. When I'm finished with my practice, I will paint you a beautiful sampler of my favorites as thanks to you...

    Today's video was amazing!! I love the little secret places you showed us that we don't often get to see. That copper beech tree took on a whimsical, curly and protected shape. Having to defend herself against the strong wind. Boadicea is a lovely tree. ❤🌳

    A lovely, uplifting tour Colette! I came in for a rest break after working in my fairy wood today and lo and behold I find a new video to watch! It re-energized me, along with a coffee and some trail mix, to venture back to the wood to probably work until dark because once I get going it's almost impossible to stop! I just love being out in nature!
    Blessings to you, Jack, and greetings to your newly planted oak tree! It did indeed look very happy!! 😊🌳🍃💕

    For your little Rododendron...One of the easiest ways to make soil more acidic is to add sphagnum peat. Simply add an inch or two of peat to the topsoil in and around plants, or during planting. For another quick fix, water plants several times with a solution of 2 tablespoons vinegar to a gallon of water. 🍀

    • @Zone10Permaculture
      @Zone10Permaculture 5 лет назад +2

      You could also put citrus peels and pulp or pine needles for added acidity.

    omg the ferns! i absolutely love ferns, i love that they spring up where you least expect them and watching them unfurl, just magical. When i first moved to where i am, 20 yrs ago, i found this old bag of builders sand outside waiting to be disposed of, but when i looked closely, i saw a tiny finger of fern growing out of the sand, i have been nurturing that little fern ever since and now has pride of place outside my front door. thank you for sharing your walk colette. j x

    There is something so satisfying about walking around ones own wooded property. We never get tired of it. Its almost magical at times. There is so much life within it. This spring we seem to be even more blessed with more nesting birds and other wildlife. When we first acquired the property it seemed as if it did not have nearly the life that it does now. It could be just that we have been accepted as part of their lives and they are coming out into the open in front of us since we are not perceived as a threat. We have wild turkeys showing off in our woods now. Its a spectacular sight as they compete for mates. We recently had 4 males all fanning at the same time trying to impress one female. We never get tired of natures theater. There is a new show every day 😊. Thank you for yet another lovely walk. 💕. I think Mother Nature has cast a spell on your mower. LOL!!

    Enchanted with the less trodden trip through Bealtaine Cottage today. Fun to see the less familiar trees and the seldom seen steel path down to the carry wood. What lovely flowers on the hawthorn. Must channel a few of those in my garden. Blessings, a hundred and more to match each tree, shrub and flower. Blessings.

    I’ve been so frustrated with gas powered tools that won’t start... so... I’ve switched to battery powered weed trimmer and chain saw... so nice to just pick it up and use it without any fuss... and no noise. Very nice.

    That was a lovely walk! Hawthorn is a great heart tonic - for both the organ and the chakra. I must see about planting some currants - some US states don’t allow, but Kentucky does. Have a beautiful day!

    Collect pine needles and oak leaves, and put them around the base of your rhododendron. It will help acidify the soil. Boy, I sure can relate to that poor little oak being stuck in a tin can for 15 years. You should see my tiny apartment.
