The worst part about the tv anti piracy screens is that they don’t even exist irl. The closest we got to something remotely close to anti piracy measures on tv channels was macrovision encoding. Basically macrovision simulates the loss of signal strength while recording to vhs which darkens and lightens the image repeatedly. The encoding doesn’t affect normal playback and is usually hidden due to overscan on Cathode Ray Tube TV’s. LCD screens don’t have overscan so the encoding is visible. Although Macrovision was effective, it was only a piracy repellent, not an actual anti piracy measure.
