It's great seeing your Dad on a short clip. What a great explanation on the technique for roping cattle. Both of you explain things so well and I always learn a lot watching your channel.
OH Joel bring back memories of my dad we raised cattle in Florida, and every once in a while dad would get on his Tennessee walker and his rope. Miss you dad you left us way to young.👍👍
I'm new to livestock, but I figured I may need this skill on my acreage with more animals here by the day, so here I am. Both techniques you mentioned are familiar to me as someone who practices with a saber, so hopefully they translate.
I agree buckaroo s and cowboys can always tell the real from the fake. way out west we always necking em during branding time and you do gotta pull your slack and dally up
Maaan, I was wonder what happen to Dad. Long time no see. Need more mama and papa time. Now, how'bout Joel and Gavin throw a rope . . . or just throw a stone. 😁
How can I straighten my rope out it's new that things more loopy and twisted then a fricken politician !!?!!appreciate any advice I never tried to learn to rope till now the vaqueros always did that part
This is no accurate. Don't rope directly behind. When you throw point in between the two horns. You can get around the horns that's thu best but neck catches and half head are allowed.
Look I grew up roping calves and steers and that is not how you do it at all just saying. I’m not trying to be rude but he needs to go back to cowboy school
He doesn’t know anything catching a steer or cow around the neck doesn’t hurt most of the time roping around horns hurt them more that why they have raps for the horns
So help me out because I grew up on a “farm” in VA where we boarded horses and trained them to show in reining. My step dad was famous in that world. I’ve never heard of you. Why are you wearing farrier chaps with tassels? No shade at all. You could just be a farrier that’s doing a demonstration.
The demonstration with the rock helped me the most
dad is internet gold!

OK, we need more of your dad... He is an EXCELLENT teaching personality!
Wow! I love how the two of you explain things. I love learning new things. Thank you both! Can not wait to see more.
I didn't even metion out loud to anyone that I wanted to learn this yesterday - and today this video perfectly shows up on my feed?? it's... perfect!!

That's ONE COOL DAD 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is awesome!
Good job.
I use to be able to rope good. But it'll take a lot of work to get a horn.
Glad to see your dad in a short.😊

That’s awesome
Wow Joel your dad is a real life cowboy plus he can shoe a horse.🐎
Very didactic!! 🙏🔥
Awesome 😊😊
Thanks 😊
This is a great detailed explanation🤠👍
Just a tip form an experienced team roper make sure to pull ur slack instead of walking backwards
Yea, he just floated his pony's teeth 😂
@@rafterL78 😂
The moment I saw Joel's dad, I know I gotta click and watch it.
ok. This is one of my goals for this year. Thanks for the explanation. I will give it a try.
I just wanted to let you know that I have subscribed to you
You pulled your slack wrong 😂😂😂 but good open loop!
Thank you
You should mention where you should hold the rope
Tf did i get here? I guess i watched too much yellowstone. I'm not even a cowboy. I live in the fucking philippines 😂
😂😂
🤣🤣
is it similair to a whip???
Dont forget to pull your slack, youll need that to dally, and your swings a little off

That's not how John Wayne would do it❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
How about trying to get a calfs leg?
Roses🌹X1000, 😁😄😃
THANKS DAD ❤
What kind of material your lasso made of?
What type of material rope is that!?? Nylon poly or just nylon
🐄 🐄 🐄 🐄🐮🐄
How can I straighten my rope out it's new that things more loopy and twisted then a fricken politician !!?!!appreciate any advice I never tried to learn to rope till now the vaqueros always did that part
What type of rope do you use ?
"Its kinda like somebody grabbing your wrist"
*Me remembering my mom draggin me off by the wrist for a stern talkin to after I acted up as a child....
You don’t want to be right behind the target
This will be great for lucky luke
Joel you look like your dad!
Balearic slinging has the same wrist motion
What if the cow or calf does not have horns?
Hi I'm from philippines do you have a used lariat rope? Can i have it?
I don’t care what y’all say no matter where you live roping is the best
I will never ever wrangle anything but I enjoyed the vid nonetheless
I have gotten to the point as a farmer that I really need to learn to lasso.
The goats are too fast.
you want to be on the left side of the steer and you want to a follow threw the right side
I feel when someone grabs my wrist😂
Well...that was a different way to teach roping...
How da hell does he have the rope
like that in the beginning
You can catch it by the neck. It’s not choking the cow either.
This demonstration was perfect for a 3 year old. But misses lots of details, like the left hand?
What if they don’t have horns
Is this satire? I can’t tell if this is a joke or not.
You need to pull the slack with the hand your throwing your loop with and not stand right behind the steer
lol our cattle has no horns 💀
Hows that work pulling slack with your left hand? turn your horse back over on you? That broomstick advice is BS!
A hand around your wrist but it's around his head the top of it so that wud be around your head bro he just try to minimize it
This is no accurate. Don't rope directly behind. When you throw point in between the two horns. You can get around the horns that's thu best but neck catches and half head are allowed.
Hi
He supposed to be teaching when he can’t even turn his wrist over right he didn’t even pull the rope when go got it on the horns
wat about horse it will get choked n runs even fast than ox
What kind of rope. Please be honest. Money is tight.
Look I grew up roping calves and steers and that is not how you do it at all just saying. I’m not trying to be rude but he needs to go back to cowboy school

This guy is so fake country
