You showed an honest review of setting up a camper for the first time. Made it look harder than it probably should have been but I suspect next time it will go a lot smoother and quicker. Would be nice to see a follow up video of the optimal ways to set it up and lessons learnt from earlier mistakes. Happy camping and keep making your videos.
Hypez Yes, I enjoyed it too. I liked the honest review as well "10 minutes later and a domestic !" I pissed myself laughing, AND when you almost got drowned pulling the annex down. (sorry Darl, I just couldn't help myself) and you took it so well ! lol. This is the unit I am going to get. There will be just me, with an occasional fishing mate, so I will have plenty of room, and that Ranger wouldn't even know it was behind it. As Hypez said, "Would be nice to see a follow up video of the optimal ways to set it up and lessons learnt from earlier mistakes." I plan on having a cordless drill for winding down the stabilizers, and winding the top up (carefully) I've subbed, liked and clicked the notification bell etc. look forward to seeing your next effort.
We have an outback swift exactly like yours just a handy hint with setting up the awning before raising the roof unzip and roll out your awning and setup your poles under the roof and the legs wind your roof up a bit then extend the legs wind up the roof a bit more extend the legs again wind the roof all the way up then make your final adjustment as to how high you want the awning to be if it’s raining have it on an angle at the front so the water can run off the front and not pool on the roof and bugger up your awning from the weight of the water..
Thanks for the tour. I am considering buying the Outback Swift and your video has given me doubts being 73 yrs old and doing many trips on my own - will definitely set up self before purchase. The video was great but the music was far too loud - fear of waking the 2 year old when it suddenly played. Looks like a great camper for your future together. Cheers
Looks great, we are retirees thinking of getting that one, just the 2 of us and our wee dog. Can you get side walls for the awning to make an enclosed outdoor room?
Before you set up, grab a beer each and check out the camp before you un-hook, also while your new practice backing up before you go to busy campgrounds as single-axle trailers can spin on a top and jackknife very easily and saves the blood pressure going up in front of a crowd another tip is to get a handheld UHF so you can guide your partner into camp spots, don't worry you will get set up and pack up down pat with practice both of you have a task and camp will be set up quick
@@DimsimOutdoors Smiles i mentioned reversing as i noticed you took 20min to unhook the camper and thought your man hasn't done much towing, try an empty car park on a Sunday and practice TOGETHER one day you may have to back out of a blocked track. I have been you and your partner 30 years ago and had plenty of heated arguments with my wife on the road. have fun and lovely to see young people enjoying our stunning country
Dan theman yes after this we spent a night at a caravan park (very empty one) and practices a few times together. Figuring out how best to give directions etc... it’s a treat little adventure figuring this all out together x
@@DimsimOutdoors team-building skills and draws you both together, my wife and daughter enjoyed our trip around OZ in our Van was a year of Awesomeness, I subbed today so looking forward to seeing more of your adventures
@@DimsimOutdoors A tip from an old truck driver. When the person at the back of the van is giving directions, people will often give a "turning the wheel type motion" which is NO good ! It is simply confusing to the driver who is watching you in his rear view mirror. All you have to do is make sure the driver can clearly see you in his mirror and simply POINT your finger LEFT or RIGHT in the direction you want the REAR of the van to go. Another method is to stand EXACTLY where you want the rear drivers side corner of the van to end up, and DON"T MOVE. if the driver has got a constant reference point that is not moving all over the place, it will be much easier for him/her to do the job. You will be amazed at how easy it is with the latter method.
That's a great little Caravan! We went to the four-wheel drive Adventure show in November last year. Purchased a new four-wheel drive and a air tent. The tent says 3 minutes to install. We've put it up at least 10 times now by the time we get our chairs tables uo t's a good 20 minutes.. last weekend we did see Camped next to us at Jayco Swift. Is it classified as a camper trailer or a caravan? And from memory the people next to us they didn't have an awning. They used a gazebo. Did you pay extra for the awning? Cheers
Sits high off the ground and that should ass should allow for some steep exit angles so surprised you didn’t go a full off road hitch. Not having the single electric element would be a deal breaker for me.
Very helpful video thanks. It looks like if you’re setting up and it’s raining, you have to slide your mattress out into the rain before setting up the tent but. Is that right?
I just had my first shake down trip in my second had Swift Outback and the first set up solo took a while! Have you been on any other trips? ... any videos soon?

Hypez once we get a bit of practice we may do something like that

great little setup i pick up my black series delta camper next week... Can't wait.
Looks great. Definately looked hard to set up but that will get easier with each use. It looks like a great little trailer. Great video Dim.

What's it like to root in, is it stable or does it rock n roll.

Dan theman yes we have done some practice manoeuvring the trailer... beer is our reward once we have finished 😝

Nice looking solid unit. Ute & caravan don't look to bad either. Your a lucky man.

Is that right?
Basically yes, it goes quickly if you hurry lol
Great Little Camper, bit of practice and you guys will be professionals at setup and pack down!
Do the new Swifts not have the flys over the bed ends?
Hell yeah looks like a nice rig guys
Thats pretty flash little unit
Getting everything level first is the key kids...An El Cheapo spirit level from Bunnings will help.
Yeah we have a great little multi-directional level that works a treat.

Collie Yak yeah bought it in Nowra
Dimsim Outdoors cool 👍 my home town 👍
Didn't really show how to set it up, as in hooking up the hockey stick inside, balancing and leveling etc. Just a promo video with music.
The BGM is so
Where is the air conditioner???
There isn't one.
