Loved this. I’m new to Cricut and want to do all kinds of things. This has given me a good place to start! Thank you for being so clear and calm in providing this tutorial😊
This is very fun!! I hope you enjoy your Cricut. My favorite new site to find SVG files is call Dreaming Tree (3dsvg.com). It has some great ideas:)
Very nice. I’m going to try this. I make coasters other ways.
So far I have 2 coasters, 1 looked faded on the bottom, the 2nd was faded in the muddle. I am using an htvront. Should put pressure on the heat press. Any idea what is going wrong. I'm wasting a lot of paper etc... thanks.
So for the delay, we moved! I would contact Cricut because with that type of heat press you should not be having any issues. My best guess is you need to leave it in the heat press for a longer amount of time?!?
Hi I’m new to this, have you done wooden coasters? If so can you do a video explaining it, if you haven’t already? Thank you
The Infusible ink does not work on wood. Sorry! Have a great day:)
Thank you for your video. I made my own following your instructions and they turned out beautifully! I had the coasters in my basket for almost a year and too afraid to try it. I'll be making more as they make wonderful gifts.
That's awesome! I'm so glad:) I think the coasters are fun to make!!
If you change the colour of the circle in light pink for instance and send it back in Arrange you will see the text. Thanks for video
Very pretty but do these actually soak up water. TY
No, you will need to use a paper towel to catch the water. These are cute decoration or for hot drinks.
can you show us how you use the infusible ink pens on coasters?
Sorry for the delay! We have moved and my stuff is in boxes!!
Thank you for sharing. This will be my first time trying infusable ink on coasters. Want to put names to use as seating arrangements for my son's wedding. Ideas,
I love that idea!! So fun:)
Great video! Do you remove the circle shapes after you put your design in place to fit before clicking “make it” thanks. What else can you use besides card stock? Also do you rubbing alcohol to clean the coaster before applying?
Yes, it is important to leave the circle:) I'm sure other things would work I just use card stock because I ALWAYS have it handy...lol. I don't use alcohol to clean the coaster but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt them. Thank you so much for watching my video:)
Amazing I love them I am new to Cricut Just got my Maker 3 today and heat press 2 so excited to make things for family and friends Thank you for the video
That's awesome! Have fun:)
Brayer your infusible ink onto your coaster, etc. The more you touch the infusible ink sheet with your hands the better chance you have of ruining the color on the infusible ink sheet, after spending that much money your don’t want to ruin your project.
Yes, it is very important to wash your hands before you work with your projects:)
I had so much trouble weeding out my thin letters today. One layer pulled off leaving a second thin layer that
was difficult to remove. Any tips on this? Great video and beautiful result!
Unfortunately, the thinner the letters the harder they are to weed. However, the blade might need to be replaced. When the blade is new it cuts intricate letters/designs more smoothly. Good luck and thank you for watching:)
Can I do this with an iron as I don't have press
So for the delay, we moved! I don't think a regular iron would get hot enough?!?
Can i use my cricut mini press to make coasters?
I think you would need a press that is larger than the coaster. But contact Cricut to see what they say:). Sorry for the delay, we moved!
My coasters are coming out with light spots around the edges (like they are burned). Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
This has happened to me once as well. I discovered that it is very important to avoid touching the ink side. You will have to touch it some, but make sure it is as little as possible and that your hands are clean and dry. Oil from your hands can mess up the ink. I hope this helps:)
First of all...I LOVE all of your videos. My question is' If I don't have the heat resistant tape that you use in your videos, what can I use as a replacement. Again- love your videos 😊
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed my videos:) I have only used heat resistant tape from Cricut. Sorry! I really like this tape and Cricut and big box craft stores are having great deals on it right now.
The coasters have a shiny side and a matte side. Which do I put the infusible ink on?
You need to tape the sheet to the shiny side:)
Thank you for this video! I've had my cricut for awhile and I've been so scared to try this.
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you have fun making coasters:)
I wish you had filmed at least a portion of weeding…..man did I have a real problem with the first two I made. At that point I went in search of some help weeding the infusible sheets…ah…bend and pop…don’t use the normal weeding tools. Things got better but still difficult with such small letters and design…I’m missing the center of the letter loops, center lines on “O” and on holly leaves. Decided to accept the imperfections. Did the first four with the black sheet in order to practice before cutting into the Buffalo checkered sheet. One done and it looks cute imperfections et al. My plan is to make three sets for gifts but it will have to be done over the next two weeks because by the time I weed one I’m ready to throw the hold project out the window. I am relatively new to using my Cricut and learning as I go….a few t-shirts, labels and stencils so far. Thanks for your video.
I'm sorry I didn't film weeding. How is everything goin? Did it get easier?
@@craftroomcreations. Haha….I finished the 3 sets I’m giving as gifts and they were almost perfect. Not sure why sometimes the ink doesn’t fully transfer even though I do all the recommended steps. I also did a Cricut tote bag and that also didn’t completely transfer in spots. I’ve been watching mug videos and toying with the idea of getting the mug press next year. Thank you for your help.
I'm glad you got them all finished:) Merry Christmas!
Where did you get the coasters from
Are they sublimation coasters?
You can buy the coasters at your local craft store or at Cricut.com. They are made to work with infusible ink. Thank you for watching:)
They are cute but are they functional, so they actually absorb water?
They do NOT absorb water and the bottom of the cup sticks to the coast if it is wet:( I put them out but use a napkin when we are using them. I didn't know this until after the video or I would have said something! I still love them...lol:) Thank you for watching the video!
Thank you so much! I have been wanting to try this but when I read how to do it seemed difficult. You made it look so simple. 🙂
They are simple and they make great gifts! Thank you so much for watching:)
Thank you so much for sharing! This was very helpful!
I'm so glad you liked the video:) Merry Christmas!
Wish I could have seen it. Please change the chape to white so we can see better what you're doing.
So sorry you are having trouble seeing the video. I'm not sure what you are talking about..."change the chape to white." I'm still learning.
Sorry typo I meant shape. The box you were using to put your text in. If you change it from black to white the text would show up for people to watch.
Is that a small easypress2? Can you fit 2 coasters at one go?
I have the 9 by 9 Easypress 2. I just do one at a time, but I don't see why you couldn't do more than one:) The heat from the press is consistent throughout the plate. Thanks for watching!
Quick question. Do you have to seal either or both sides of the coaster?
I don't do anything to the coasters after the image has been press:) They are ready to go!
Are these suitable for hot drinks? Love the video.
Yes, you can use these with hot drinks. Condensation from cold drinks cause the glasses to stick sometimes. Thank you so much for watching:)
Thank you that was great
Do you have to use that text or is there a way to customize it?
You can create our own in design space. I just used what I found:)
Too cute!!!!
Thank you so much!!
Love this craft !
I am also still new to Cricut, it’s more the design App process I still need help with!
99% of the time I work from my computer:) I like it a lot better than on my phone or an iPad. The Cricut is awesome! Have fun playing and learning:)
I work from my laptop as well, but am not advanced enough yet to understand even the circle/pattern process.
I'll get there:) Please let me know if I can help.
Can you do this with a mini press?
Maybe...but you would have to be very careful not to overlap where you have already pressed and still cover the entire area of the coaster. But Cricut does not seem to recommend it:(
Can you use infusible ink for ornaments?
No...unfortunately you have to use Cricut blanks!! I'm hopeful that will one day charge:)
I don’t have a heat press, can I use a regular iron with this project?
I think you would need to have a heat press because the temperature needs to be 400 degrees. Sometimes Joann's or Cricut run really good deals on the heat press.
@@craftroomcreations. yes, I went out and bought one today 😬 I’m going to try some coasters...your video inspired me!!!
@@jenniferlemcke4632 I hope you love it!!
Love it!!!!
Oh this is awesome can’t wait to try this
Thank you so much for watching:)
