Love your content, I don’t play acoustic guitar but I appreciate great craftsmanship.

I'm sorry to see that you can't install the Doctor bridge on Ovation guitars without first seeing how to install that base wood. I like the design of the Ovation but obviously I bought a guitar with a classical soundhole, that design of little holes seems horrible to me. I've put nylon strings on my 12 string guitar and it sounds fine, and of course I play this guitar with my fingers.

I thought your idea was a good idea , I don’t have anything good to say about this guitar manufacturer as far as the half ass engineering that went into this guitar or should I say didn’t go into this guitar… lol. Hopefully your fix is a permanent one, if it was my guitar I believe after something like this I would never put 12 strings on it again but that’s just my opinion, in other words it would be a 6 string guitar . All that string tension and then you need not only a guitar tech but probably special long truss rod tool for the task …. Yeah no thanks, in fact after the repair I probably would sell the problem ( guitar) to someone else although I would inform them of the repair. Good video.

The owner/player of this 12 string has chosen to replace the normal stringing of the guitar with an arrangement that almost doubles the amount of tension on the bridge that a 12 string is designed to use. Any 12 string guitar will be challenged with this type of stringing... especially any high end guitar that is purposely designed for projection, volume, sustain, and desirable tonality, as these aspects require a more carefully designed, lighter, more responsive build to enable these qualities.
I've been using 12 string guitars from many makers since 1975... Martin, Gibson, Ovation, Yamaha, Guild, Takamine, Larrivee, Seagull, and Taylor, have served me very well throughout the years. None of these guitars would react well to this stringing choice, and if I chose to use this stringing, I would tune the guitar down at least a whole step, or maybe more.
