I ordered food thru a drone delivery service

- I decided to order food from a local drone delivery service for the very first time. This is my experience. Learn more about how drone delivery companies can legally operate thru FAA part 107 regulations. Find out how long it takes to get food delivered via drone.
Drone food delivery is certainly something that will become more common in the future, but how well does it work in the present?
This video starts at the 6:00 minute mark. "He dropped our chicken sandwich from like, 30 feet." Hilarious.
I have to say that most of the Crispy Chicken Sandwiches we get around here look like they’ve been dropped 30 feet anyway. Still very popular.
LOL
😂😂😂
I wasn’t expecting you going there with your comment 🤣
That was funny! They still have a few little "bugs" to work out, apparently. Thanks for the video!
This was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 I can't believe they just dropped it from that high up though. I take it you can't order drinks lol.
Missed your videos..cheers😊
If they could deliver beer this business would take off!!
@@Wolficorntv If "our business is taking off" isn't their company motto, it needs to be!
There are drones fitted with cables that drop the payload slowly and gently, so drinks in cups aren't out of the question as long as the delivery container is designed and housed properly, and there's always the option of delivering 2 liters, 20 oz bottles, 12 oz cans, etc, along with cups, or even cups with ice (styrofoam cups prevent ice from melting quickly, but most people have ice at home).
Per the Part 107 rules the pilot must maintain line of sight, or maintain communication with an observer who can keep visual sight of the drone, hence the two operators.
I'm familiar with that rule, but their app mentions two pilots...not an observer. I can almost guarantee there is no way they maintain visual line of sight.
Hey, thanks for sharing. I’m sure there are things to sort out, but competition will improve the experience. I definitely think this is the future, especially in urban areas.
yeah we're definitely in the infant stage but it most certainly will become more commonplace...for better or worse.
if you have ever worked a gig, side hustle delivering food or whatever, you know this MUST be the future because delivery by car is insanely inefficient for small orders
That drop was crazy. I'd be pissed if someone or something dropped my hot made sandwich multi houses high... Unless I was drunk and on the run from the law. At that point is be happy. I'd order from them again. Awesome video guys!!!!
@KeyboardWarrior Or on the run from the law 🤣 good one
YES!!! I'm so glad you put this out.
My plane has been away for the past month so I was getting tired of not putting any videos out!!
@@Wolficorntv any idea when we're going to pick 244 up?
@@N1120A That's a good question. I need to give Gary a call. Hopefully next week.
That was fun! they should come nearer to your home. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
I though he was gonna land in my front yard but perhaps they felt safer to drop it where they did.
Lucky that the food didn't smash into pieces from the 30 ft drop
good thing I didn't order a milkshake
Amazing and hilarious!
Crazy! Can't believe this is our future! Thank goodness your order was not bigger. That could knock someone out. Fun to watch though, thanks
Ha...I think a direct hit with that chicken sandwich would hurt!
Drones are the future! Instead of having someone drive through traffic to go pick up your order, I imagine restaurants would have several drones on site (supplied by a company like uber) ready to deploy as soon as your order is complete
Altimeter setting was off 🤣 or confused by the street light as to the elevation.
In fairness, that sandwich looks just like the last one I got at Popeyes in the drive thru.
Ha. I was surprised by how minimalist it was. Just bread, some semblance of chicken and a couple of pickles.
@@Wolficorntv Everything you need and nothing you don't. But Chick-Fil-A is better.
Without a doubt...video of the year 😬
LOLOL. I'm not too sure about that claim but, hell, I'll take it.
@@Wolficorntv my wife insists it is a well staged/produced parody. Who would drop the food in that manner. 😜
@@adamcorby804 real life feels like a parody these days.
It can be done HELL WHEN I WAS A KID BACK IN THE 1980S my model rocket hade a parashute so drone delivery can have that to
😂thanks I’m never trying this!
Wow that’s crazy! But koo at the same time. I just wonder how it will be when you order fountain drinks!? Dropping it from that high can’t be an option and plus I’m sure customers don’t want there order being dropped on a sidewalk. Has a lot of
Bugs it needs to work on but I can honestly say that once those bugs are fixed up to customer satisfaction it will be a great delivery method and definitely keep a lot of people out of a job lol! Good money saver for the company bad for the economy
Very cool and cheap!
This could be pretty good for saving on trips to the hardware store for the Saturday afternoon projects. Thirty foot drop might be a little bit of an issue though. maybe add a parachute ala Hunger Games.
Drop a gallon of paint from 30 feet! LOL
There is a service somewhere in Africa where they use drones to deliver medicines to hospitals and clinics. They use much larger drones with fixed wings and drop the boxes from some height, but they use parachutes.
Nice drop❗🤣
That's pretty funny. So how does this work? Does the crew hangout at the local Popeyes and BK shopping center?
I my guess is that they pre-order them and stick 'em under a heat lamp. Yummy!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 sandwich got haggered
They have to drop the food with mini parachute...
I don't know maybe because I'm a nerd but that would have been worth it to me lol. Heck just catch it next time its in bubble wrap!
I just imagine Kipp flying it and dropping it and flying off fast.
It drops it from so high so people don’t damage or steal it
Have you used this service again? How was the sandwich?
I haven't yet...but maybe one day I'll do it again. The sandwich was pretty terrible...and I don't think that has anything to do with the drone delivery. My 20 year-old self may have enjoyed it more.
More food delivery drone videos please
Ha. Glad you liked it. I wasn't sure if anybody was going to enjoy this video.
@@Wolficorntv Did you ask why they dropped the sandwhich so high above?
I thank it's time for a parashute
I wonder if this company "FlyBy" is still in business.
negatory
Just imagine dropping a melon like that!
As in FlyBuy?
Flyby is how they spell it
Good thing they don't have a dozen eggs on the menu!! 🤣🤣
Bryan and Carla... wow, that was cool... and, well, progressive... although as you both note, a little creepy. Thanks for filming that! Wayne (DA40, KSBA)
ha...glad you liked it. Not my usual kind of video but we were just trying to have a little fun.
LJAkaiae
Ah....the future ....maybe 😂
Order sushi and a pizza next time 😂👍👍👍
Will they deliver to your hangar? 🤣
I don’t want that thing flying near the airport 😂
@@Wolficorntv I agree!
UAVS JOBY TAKOF AirUber AirTesla future.
i think this video is a little too long :) would be nice if it's 3-5 mins
Next time order a box of raw eggs
Or smashed potatos get it smashed potatos 🤣😂😅🤣😅😂
This drone was so noisy
it was. I have a mavic air 2 and it's not as loud. The blade design is different.
FffffffffffUT.... air strike Order 265 analysis confirmation completed... rerouting....
