The loss of the seagrass is not because of the urbanization of our coastlines it's because our government here in Florida shut off the water supply to the everglades south of Lake O and have re-diverted the heavily polluted freshwater into the Indian River. This was done so that farmers could get rich at the expense of our ecosystem.

The loss of seagrass is not directly from Manatees as they have been here longer than the houses and roads that pollute the water. Let's point the finger at ourselves as we are the ones who caused this issue, not Manatees who have been here for thousands of years. They didn't create septic tanks. They didn't destroy vulnerable habitat and salt marshes. They didn't start agriculture fields. They didn't build power plants. OUR FELLOW HUMANS DID.

The film discusses the declining quality of water due to development as the cause for the loss of seagrass. It does not blame manatees or wildlife for that, rather they are the ones facing this threat to their ecosystem and food chain.

On of man's greatest sins is how he has destroyed the environment.
