This song makes me cry…my husband of 35 years died suddenly on 10-13-09…we raised our five children in a log cabin in the woods of north Louisiana…every spring he would go down in the branch bottom by our house and brave the snakes to bring me armfuls of wild dogwood, wild jasmine, and wild azaleas to put in jars all over the house. I loved him dearly ..not to say we had no problems..cause like all married couples we had fusses now and then. I left him briefly once and I hated myself for it and moved right back!! Would give anything for one sweet hug from him.
I'm still here in Dallas at 77 years old and still kicking. All these songs take me back through the years that were both good and bad. 21 years army vietnam vet., retired trucker owner and still active at VFW 8735.
It takes a lot of nerve to even attempt a Dolly Parton song but Joan can hold her head up knowing that she absolutely NAILED IT! What a beautiful voice!
If by past you mean IGWOU...then you really need to listen to the rest of the album. Her voice improved even more afterward. But that's a fine album of great songs
Joan has been blessed with one of the finest voices to have emerged over the last thirty years. It doesn't matter what genre a song is; rock, soul, r&b, country, folk, she can nail them all. We are so fortunate to be able to listen to this lady and her gorgeous voice.
im inlove with this joans version of the great dolly parton! im listening to it regularly for years since i discovered it here in youtube..i converted it to mp3!👍😀
This is for Joan, I love you, I like your voice. I love you in the way, you know, you give people gentle touch on their souls. Whish you what you hope for, the same you give to others. Thank you Joan.
This lady is so talented. Is there anything she can't do? And why isn't she the Ambassador of New York? Meaning how are so many no talents made to walk on water when people like her and Rachel Price and so much talent I find on RUclips never get heard. Thank Goddess for RUclips!
There is a version of this on Linda, Dolly and Emmylou's album "Trio 2". Emmylou sings lead with Linda and Dolly singing harmony behind her. It's pretty amazing also and on You Tube if you want a listen.
This is a wonderful cover of Dolly Parton's genius of a song Do I Ever Cross Your Mind. Not surprised that it's wonderful - Dolly wrote it! See Dolly's versions especially with Chet Atkins. Brilliant songwrite and singer, Dolly, and Brilliant Joan Osborne cover here.
Joan is outstanding,a ten of tens, an amazing voice. When she sings, she own the song and 99% of the time she does it better than the original vocalist. I have most, if not all her albums.

Actually, it doesn't.
You already have a God-like song, because. Hey.
It's Dolly!!
the like button does not do this justice, should be a LOVE button
😊
Thank you, Joan ! Just amazing !
I regret so much I didn't look past Joan's first album years ago. She is one of the most underappreciated artistic genius souls of her time....

My favorite version of this song

Marvelous interpretation! Reminiscent of a haunting memory.
Definitely a 5 star rating for the vocals and another 5 star rating for the guitar work. Amazing💯
This is such a phenomenal cover. Joan makes it her own while still time paying homage to Dolly's spirit and Chet's style
I have one girl out there some where and I often wonder where she is and how life has treated her. My first girl friend many, many years ago.
I know exactly what you mean……I’d try and find her on facebook! It would probably be good for her too…..memories never fade!
Wish I could give this more than one thumbs up! The guitar work just by itself deserves a thumbs up!
Joan Osborne
Tonguefunsome okay how about two thumbs up?
Joan is soooooo good!! Been a fan forever and never tire of listening to her. .

I identify with that song and it really does a number on my heart! Of course you sang it so enchantingly!
Great voice and artist 🎨

Amazing legend covered by an amazing talent. Perfect.
This version topped Dolly Parton’s
Great cover of a great Dolly Parton song
I have loved Joan since One of Us.
Me too mate. Whilst that was her only hit record, it is almost irrelevant when her full spectrum of talent is considered!

I love the original with Dolly, but this is WAY better !
Check out Ashley Campbell's version!
Flowers 💐 im in love with 🌹 1:58
check out her version at sausalito, outdoors, 2003; a bit wilder but still awesome
Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night because you miss me
I would love to hear her version of Dolly's song, "Hello God"
O! Beautiful! Much better than Original.
Not sure If I cross their minds, but many cross mine. Too many girls, not enough time.
do I ever cross your mind
there was a version of justin townes earle and dawn landes-(not the live one) - really good - but gone on youtube now ..
If y'all enjoyed this.. Check out Ashley Campbell's version...
Ashley Campbell, Glenn's daughter..
Do I ever cross your mind? My darling
I would take her version over Dolly's anytime...
for you Alfoley.....
Do I
Better then Dolly's version!
After hearing five versions of this including Dolly, sorry but even Dolly didn't do as good a job singing this song as Joan, that simple.
"Awesome cover" is right!
And do I ever cross your mind ... too? :o/ :o)
In any case, you have a priority, okay? :o)
:O. *
Joan, that's at least as good as Ashley Campbells version.. Not to mention Dollys version, with her voice and guitar!!
do you ever cross the street?
