Your appearance matters overseas as well as your income. I have lived in multiple countries around the world. You have to be in shape physically. Dress well clean cut appearance and smell good. It's not hard to do.

I cant see why anyone will get offended if you give a little advice. When I am in the DR I dress like I live in the Dominican Republic. Yea shirts and t-shirt’s close fitting. Shorts, pants and jeans not too tight but fit just right. And yes if your wearing shorts, put some lotion on especially if you have dry skin. People only know I am not from there when I open my mouth. Appearance do matter, and mannerisms. I really hope the standards in the DR don’t drop. You guys hitting the nail on the head. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌

Your appearance does make a difference. I am in Nicaragua right now and after watching a TMD video I up grade my dress style and have met many more ladies. I also agree with what your husband said the setting makes a big difference. You can wear cargo pants and tennis and meet ladies in carberte but you must dress better in San Domingo. But sometimes i want to dress down to keep from getting rob in some places don't want to look like i got money. Watches, rings and slacks can also get you rob in some places and everyone listening to Dembo in baseball hats jeans and tennis and i looking like Morris Day.

1. So true about dressing how people in that place dress. I look at social media to see how the men dress in the countries I'm interested in.
2. I'm glad James said that about the type of crowd that you want to attract and talk about. Many people always speak badly about the DR in regard to dating. What I've noticed is that many that complain go to certain areas only or date women online only.
That's because they are dating chapiadoras 😂. They need to find some real everyday working Dominican women

I like the dynamic understanding both preceptive make sense. Coming from the financial district I'm so used to dressing preppy that i dress like this all the time. I do get a lot of attention and then when i speak Spanish it will throw them off then people and asking me where I'm from. I will say that with women because I stay sharp, I'm always having them give me the look.
I wanted to add that we have a shiny hair culture like Italians instead of pink hair... I really like that comment "look how the other people are dressed". I was looking for that comment "what gives good reputation". I went to a catholic school so it's a reflex for me ...

If someone gets offended by what you're saying they need to stay in the United States. Because they're going to be the ones with that screwed up mentality going to these other countries. Everything y'all are speaking on is correct. One thing that I realize is you have to leave that American mentality in America. Because everything doesn't operate like it does in America and the people definitely don't think the same nor act the same.

Appearance is the first thing you see so yes it matters!! There are dominicans with dreads. And plenty of women wear wigs and weaves lol yall have to come to the barrios its a different time

My husband thought I looked homeless because I am Muslim and we cover everything lol and he is Dominican and used to naked women with short skirts and tight clothing. We definitely had to get use to each other cultures

I traveled alot during my time in the military and you're told while in another country, you are ambassadors and need to act accordingly. That also extends to dress and grooming. That sticks with me to this day. You'll never see me in flip flops or yeezys 🥵

This is something I learned. My close friend died in Puerta plata. I was just in Puerta plata and Santo Domingo. Flew out of Las America on the tenth. February 10.

Have seen a lot of trailer park trash in West Virginia wearing their pajamas at Walmart.
Why only mention dreadlocks and extension. That only target one race of people. I have dreads and my wife wear extension sometimes. That will offend a lot of people.
