    Absolutely fantastic video! I've slack-lined on and off for a few years, but would like to progress now, so seeing the different types of lining and hearing from those who do it is incredibly insightful. Thank you!

    And there we were at about 10 years old feeling very daring setting up some rope alongside our local bridge and walking it over the stones below. If we lost our balance we only had to hope it was toward the bridge. Childhood was fun.

    Is there a gun that shoots the line from point to point across a wide chasm?

    • @woutmotmans6240
      @woutmotmans6240 4 года назад +1

      Nope, it is done by throwing a rock attached to your tagline, hiking to other anchor, or using a drone which bring the tagline to the other side.

    Thank you for promising your mom about free solo. We mothers lovingly carry you from birth until you are able to walk - it is nice that you value the life you were given. It is mesmerizing to watch but I feel for the families of these young people.

    As in rock climbing, free solo is a choice to go against the odds.

    • @Peppermint_Penguin
      @Peppermint_Penguin 4 года назад

      It is a choice that you can make but I think its a selfish choice and not just due to loved ones and friends that would miss you if a strong wind blows through but also because it endangers the sport. Accidents caused by reckless individuals end up reflecting badly on the community and can cause land authorities be they public or private to close access to the places that give these sports life.

    However Free solo is a suicidal action in my personal opinion, I will never applaud my friends or family members after they do free solo successfully.

      It should be because everyone has the choice to do that. Friedi Kühne does it and its impressive to me but i know what you mean, its just the fact that he is so good at his craft, does hours of Yoga every day etc, and just never falls so far. And if it would happen, he had a great life still.
