I do know about the Humboldt Current. It gives us our extremely mild tropical temperatures....I did not know we had the double whammy (technical term!!!) Upwelling which also gives Peru and Chile the great fishing ground....where a lot of the "fresh" frozen fish comes from that goes to North America, my birthplace!!! Thank you!!!!

Why doesnt west Australia have upwelling it also has cold current right?

Cold current is not prerequisite to upwelling, but wind flowing parallel to coast is an important criteria. Australia is in higher latitudes were wind flow.from sea to land and not parallel to coast
