Agreed VP Harris isn’t Obama , it will be two different administration’s , and styles, but ,,,”yes there’s a but” I remember how it felt when Obama cruised his way to the white house , and yes there were bumps on the way… We must get Harris in the white house, and if throwing a little “good-time nostalgia” at some from our community will help “let’s do it”,,, we need every bit of strategy we can get . Once she’s in office put that strategy away, and get down to business pushing for policy that our people desperately needs.

@YoungBillyKatastrophe she obviously is successful she won in CA multiple times ... not to mention she was the ONLY Black woman/ Indian Senator in Congress ... that's Accomplishment .... she also fought to make sentences harsher for sex offenders. That's actual fact .... don't tear her down just because you don't really know the whole truth about her
@savlosavage I understand she won the Democratic primary for senator in 2016 for senate against a rather weak opponent in California. Being the only Black/Indian/Asian woman says more about this country than her political abilities. She did her job to fight to make sentences harder for sex offenders. That is what she is supposed to do, right?
So, questioning the qualifications of an individual that nobody Democratic thought was fit to be president 4 years ago is called tearing her down.. that's nonsensical and shows how folks see politicians as being infallible. This is not sports where we are fans (fanatics) rooting for particular teams, right?

@@YoungBillyKatastropheI mean Obama didn’t have any accomplishments and hadn’t even been in the senate that long before he became president. If we as Americans believe that any individual citizen can be president of this country- why can’t she? We have had all kinds of people run for president and some of those people have actually become president. Let’s see what her entire platform is and people should vote for who they want. But this harsh scrutiny that’s always over the democratic candidate compared to the Republican most especially in this election is wild. Trump is half demented and delusional but to this very day no one has really made him answer tough questions. They let him slide on his personality attraction alone. People need to go watch his first interview with Chris Matthews. No one has interviewed him in any way close to that and he’s been running and complaining literally for 10 years
Professor Hunter please focus on getting her elected and tell our people about the dangers of Project 2025 for our people.

When people started to compare the two I was like STOP, they are different people. She can stand on her own because she is a phenomenal woman all by herself, and her career speaks for itself.
After the trump/NABJ debacle I went back and binge watched every Obama interview and debate. That man really spoiled the democrats in terms of stage presence and oratory excellence. They most likely will never have another Democrat as eloquent and charismatic as he was. They should stop using him as a comparison measure because 99% will fall short.
No one else chose to run because they didn’t have any money. Since VP Harris was already on the ticket, the campaign money could stay with her. Anyone else would have had to try to build an entire campaign from scratch in less than a month. It would have been nearly impossible. Don’t get me wrong, I am 10 toes down for Kamala! I’m just saying she didn’t have any competition for very practical reasons.

I agree with this whole piece. Being from Hawaii I was greatly puzzled by the resistance to mentioning Obama's White upbringing in a multicultural environment. Instead you were to only see him as a black man because his African father, whom he hardly knew, was black. On the other hand, being raised in Hawaii is not exactly a white American upbringing . The comparison I see between Obama's first campaign and Harris's is this great enthusiasm. What's amazing is the speed and breadth and Genius of this campaign.
Bc Obama is a Black man when he's presented in public before you knew anything else about him you knew he was a Black man.

We all were depressed and pissed off with our party. Biden endorsed Harris and We The People took it out of our party’s hands and nominated her before she was nominated by the party. We The People are still pissed with some of our leadership however, We The People will deal with that when all is said is done!!! I grew up Sacramento, Oakland East Bay Kamala office was here I was always in Oakland as white chick it's absolutely the truth. I saw a AKA PAC is that right? Power Good.
I was visiting family in Canada and only one person amongst four women thought that Kamela was going to gain momentum. But when I heard that black women were one a zoom call to make sure they didn't leap frog over her, then I knew Kamela would have the needed support.
It was the enormous groundswell from the base which kept the party elite from tinkering with it and screwing it up. Roland Martin said it best IMO: “The base is moving”. It was truly awesome! 😊💙💙💙

I remember when I was younger, a lawyer friend of mine met her and said she was on her way to trying to be the first woman president. So I looked into her, and Kamala is one hell of a leader and politician ... and an even better lawyer.

No! Human being’s compare one another all the time. We compared Kendrick to Drake and their recent battle. We compared Whitney to Mariah, etc, etc., its what we do. Comparing things gives one the ability determine what your preferences are. Are they the same? No, but you compare different qualities to see which one you like the best. We compare ex-lovers, and if we’re admit it, we even compare our children to one another. That won’t change!
I'm not that fond of Kamala myself, but I would rather have vote for her than that convicted felon that we have running up against her. Not going to say his name. You guys know who I am talking about.

It seems like to me that the comparison of VP Harris to Pres Obama is the same excitement of the campaign. Like people woke up and are excited to vote again like we were in 2008. People weren't feeling that with H Clinton, sadly.

The one drop rule exist in the United States so I don't why some of these so-called pro black people trying dismiss Kamala's blackness. I've woken up to these people.
Whatever it takes. If VP Harris is considered "one of the Good colored people" or she's "trending" or even that she actually qualifies for the job, I'm glad we might have a chance to win the election. I had my doubts

Mind though, I prefer not to have the comparison with President Obama; however, it is inevitable that it will happen, so let's be prepared.
Knowing how Obama_Biden was stymied - then Biden_Harris was underestimated, I somehow have full confidence that a President Kamala Harris will get a substantial part of the necessary work done.

Oliver Stone produced a documentary on US History (Netflix, somewhere..._ and it showed footage, right after FDR wasn't going to be around (can't remember if he died, or not) Democratic Convention ignored the vice president (of all those FDR years) Wallace (not the wheelchair AL segregationist Wallace) was ignored to nominate Truman. And after nominating the poindexter from Independence, MO, an in group physically plugged the microphone plug so that it could not be heard to nominate Wallace--who was a far better man for the masses (especially those colored dark in the Americas). First thing that came to my mind was whoa--what are the various in groups trying to do.
Tracy Clark, I am so glad you mentioned Henry Wallace in your comments. He has largely been forgotten, but was a true progressive who would not have gotten us in the "Forever Wars" we have been fighting endlessly since the end of WW II and has made our country the largest debtor in the world.
Both are cut from the same cloth: Excellence!

It's hard on one hand Joe asked her to be his VP major. On the side as many people in this nation were so inspired in 2008. There is a direct line from Obama to Kamala now now its spiritual. I'm on West Coast in fact Sacramento and I knew Newsom who is a big deal ...I knew he was going stand down and endorse it all two statements to Sac Bee. NEWSOM is gonna challenge her I knew this live this real it happing all of the stated stand down followed full endorsement so I knew happy to be fighting. One was the president one was the vice president and they’re both extremely extremely smart. They have similarities.
@@yanellejones4033 I don't like to argue. I like to engage with honest people who are open to processing and disseminating information and entertaining in a way that's edifying. Also...I really wish people on this platform would do more than watch clips and actually listen to my show because sooooo many of you are commenting on a clip. It's akin to opening a book in the middle, reading a few pages and writing a book report on the book. There's a lot more to this (and most of my discussions).
