Willow trees love water,one down by your beach would be lovely. You should see what cactus varieties like the area and use them as a fire break around your property . They contain so much water it works miracles.🏰🌵🔥

Love the new intro. Regrowing foods is very slow, but doable. Fire is a real danger in your area. I’m happy to have moved out of fire regions. Removing invasive species is enormously beneficial to the ecosystem. You guys are going to be super busy this year. You’ll have the rest of your lives to finish the water mill. It’s a process of creation meaning it’ll never be finished. I agree you don’t want to move until the house is mostly finished. We rebuilt a house once and it took 4.5 years when I thought it would take a year. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

We love our willows (tho I am in canada). Did you know they have a natural kind of rooting hormone. So you can take a freashly cut branch in the spring and put it in the ground, preferably near a pond or creek, it will grow roots and re grow. I have done this a few times. I get better success from a newer growth branch. But I have had success from a 5 foot branch once! They love to grow!

As a person who lives in rainy state all year around, willows love water. If u have any spots on ur land collecting water I suggest willows. They are also beautiful, lol

I spent years living in the high desert where every tree was precious and now I live in central Illinois and know I spend a lot of time pulling out tree seedlings as there are proper places for trees and choices, the eucalyptus trees are not native to your area and are a huge detriment to the land there so you are doing the right thing, especially as you are replacing foreign trees with native ones.
We are cutting them currently and it’s hard to see trees go but we know it’s better to get rid of the harmful ones.
You are so smart to plan ahead as you do. Even if you fall short, having a timeline helps to keep you on track. You have timely tackled important essentials (roof, water drainage, fire control, excavation). I look forward to your videos to see your progress! Good luck in 2024!

are you able to pump the water to a tank above the house? We are off grid NZ and have a tank higher than our house that we pump our water to and it gravity feeds into the house, we pump it to the tank once a week rather then have the pump come on every time the tap is turned on. This way we turn the pump on during the day when we have power.

If there is a paper mill near you you might actually make a little money from those eucalyptus. Or you can get a discount from the people that help remove them and let them make some money. Finally they may be useful for firewood for you or someone else.
Hi guys, my worry would be the hill at the back of the house if part of it is yours i would try to stabilise it a lot of rain can bring a slide.
You have done a lot but it will be under not so showy. So I love the list and it’s a great idea you know like putting up board and this is my dream board my wish board whatever you wanna call it and then you can mark off all the pairs that you have for this next year which will be wonderful and the cats will go with you wherever but I understand not living down there yet it’s cold, and you know the cats run off of somebody that comes down there or they could run over so sanctuary for never having any animals and it’s so cute to watch it because the cats are loving it. They got a life and a dream and when I died, I’d like to come back as a cat but you do so much and it’s so cute and you felt so much for him. Yes it is important, he is so good and I think he likes being on RUclips. He is quite handsome and I love all the stuff he he what he says and he doesn’t leave until done correctly which is blessing and when you find a worker like the guy you found, did the roof and everything they would be very smart too. Be part of the inside workers cause I think they’ll do a fantastic job. You two were so cute singing the Christmas that was really cute. I’m glad you had a good time there. I’m sure you missed your family but you’re very lucky to have such wonderful friends around. I wish you the best this year full of love and good health and wisdom to get things done practically and get as far as you can and this next year so I’ll give you blessings and prayers go well in 2024 and all your dreams will come true

Brittany, love the graphics for the new Mr and Mrs Adventure intro. If you plant a willow, it will need to go right next to your creek. Huge water drinkers. And prone to bugs and disease, especially boring beetles. So beautiful but kind of tricky. Drew, your narration skills have really become elevated... and you're so funny (the container project). Great job! All good wishes in the New Year.
But never plant water loving trees (willows and poplars) close to water pipes or drainage! The roots seek water and will clog the pipes and culverts!

A very busy year indeed. Personally I would prioritise enlarging and deepening the swim hole within the next couple of months to allow for the capture of more water during the spring just in case (god forbid) anything should happen during the summer. Happy New Year.

Sorry to correct you, but that "willow" is a Schinus, also called California pepper tree- magnificent for a DRY area on your property- fire resistant and the berries are peppercorn substitutes. Excellent for the dry upper area above your road.
