I’ve had lupus since I was a child; yes, it is possible to have it as a child. I now have 3 children. No problems getting pregnant, my lupus was much better during each pregnancy and no issues with my labors or deliveries.
I have a niece with lupus, an aggressive form of it. She has had theee children. Her symptoms were nil during pregnancies. And, now her symptoms aren't as bad. Her youngest is 5 and still in a partial remission I guess you could call it.

I'm highly concerned if they put her on long-term predinsone, I'm asthmatic and had to take this drug prolonged, and it has caused more damage than good, i hope her doctor explained that prolonging predinsone can cause glaucoma, weight gain, heart problems... I couldn't have said it any better. You worded that perfectly. My mom & aunt both have Lupus. Dr's told my aunt she probably wouldn't live past 35. That was almost 20yrs ago & she's still here. The heartbreaking thing is Dr's told her she could get pregnant but she most likely wouldn't be able to carry & she would miscarry. She wanted to be a momma so badly but her & my uncle decided to put their dream of having kids on hold. They felt like it would've been selfish of them to bring a child into the world & grow up without a mom. She's still here & doing very well. It's bittersweet. It really pisses me off that people feel the need to focus on Selenas body then anything else. Selena is looking so happy & healthy. That's all that matters. I have had Lupus since I was 21 and have 3 kids. Your Lupus does not calm down and you risk the loss of your pregnancy. That is a choice you and your partner need to consider. At any time your body can attack any organ including a fetus. There are treatments but most have lost long-term side effects. No. It doesn't. My best friend developed lupus after she got pregnant. The pregnancy triggered it.The baby didn't make it and she passed at 28 yrs old.
A large majority of lupus patients miscarry. It take planning with your rheumatologist to make sure you and baby make it through safely especially as an organ recipient. Lupus attacked my platelets and is was possible that my baby would have low platelets as well. Blood tests had to be performed bef I delivery on both of us. My symptoms did not subside during my pregnancy, everyone is different.
Pregnancy with Lupus can be challenging and high risk (I myself have had multiple miscarriages and a stillborn daughter), but it is possible. That being said, its not really anyone's place to speculate over something like this over the way she looks in a dress. I think she is beautiful, and while I advocate for healthy diet and exercise as a person with Lupus, her weight being so grossly discussed when she is still far below the weight of an average American is disturbing.

Lupus while pregnant effects everyone different because of hormones and body changes. Not every pregnancy will react the same. Same goes from CKD, Diabetes, etc. My A1c while pregnant went to 5.0 i was 13.9. Now im 7.0. I ate less while pregnant and ate more greasey foods and drank loads of water and fruit juices (when bloodsugar was low) spinach and tomatoes (i craved them).

My autoimmune issues disappeared for over 2 years after I got pregnant and I was also told I was probably unable to have a baby by doctors before that. It was such a beautiful miracle for me, felt the best ever while pregnant and I’m sure it is for her as well.

No. It doesn't. My best friend developed lupus after she got pregnant. The pregnancy triggered it.The baby didn't make it and she passed at 28 yrs old.

A large majority of lupus patients miscarry. It take planning with your rheumatologist to make sure you and baby make it through safely especially as an organ recipient. Lupus attacked my platelets and is was possible that my baby would have low platelets as well. Blood tests had to be performed bef I delivery on both of us. My symptoms did not subside during my pregnancy, everyone is different.
Pregnancy with Lupus can be challenging and high risk (I myself have had multiple miscarriages and a stillborn daughter), but it is possible. That being said, its not really anyone's place to speculate over something like this over the way she looks in a dress. I think she is beautiful, and while I advocate for healthy diet and exercise as a person with Lupus, her weight being so grossly discussed when she is still far below the weight of an average American is disturbing.
People out there stop being so negative let this beautiful angel girl live her life and be happy she deserves it she's worked hard to get where she's. Lupus while pregnant effects everyone different because of hormones and body changes. Not every pregnancy will react the same. Same goes from CKD, Diabetes, etc. My A1c while pregnant went to 5.0 i was 13.9. Now im 7.0. I ate less while pregnant and ate more greasey foods and drank loads of water and fruit juices (when bloodsugar was low) spinach and tomatoes (i craved them).
