ネネは姿を見せませんでした。
シャバーニ達が出入り口を行ったり来たりして地下にいるネネを心配している様子でした。
午前11時50分頃に地下室との出入り口付近にネネがこの日初めて姿を見せました。
その後､群れとは少し距離をとりながら室内の高い位置で休んでいました。
動画は撮影した時系列順に繋ぎ合わせて編集してあります。

This is a video of the western lowland gorillas living at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Nagoya City.
On this day, the morning display of the eating scene in the exercise yard was canceled and the display started with the lunch scene indoors from around 10:46 AM.
Nene did not show up.
Shabani and the others were going back and forth between the entrance and exit, worried about Nene who was underground.
At around 11:50 AM, Nene made her first appearance of the day near the entrance to the basement.
After that, she rested at a high position indoors, keeping a little distance from the group.
The video has been edited by connecting the footage in chronological order.

2024/09/05 木曜日も東山動物園へ行きましたが､ネネは姿を現すも元気がありません。
少しだけご飯を食べました。
園では正規の展示はなく運動場へも出ていません。
地下で野菜を食べている様子。
お昼頃上から野菜をもらい食べていました。
室内の清掃はしていない。
そんな感じです。

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, I went to Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, but the situation was the same as the day before.
The exhibition in the exercise area was canceled.
After cleaning the room, breakfast started at about 9:46 in the morning.
According to the zookeeper, Nene eats her meal underground.
It seems that she comes up when she's done.
She appeared at about 11:46 this day.
Just like the day before, she was resting at a distance from the other gorillas.
Shabani and Ai seem worried.

@@JamesWardGodsMagicGuy I love Nene too, but there's already a gorilla great-grandmother! There may be others, but Dalila at Apenhuil was mother to Gyasi, who gave birth to the wonderful Tayari, who has a son named Jabali! Dalila is even currently helping raise baby Makongo, whose mom hasn't been able to.
All along, i thought it was more weather related. But the way Nene has been mistreated in the past...even tho she is a tough elder, she can't be beat up and mistreated by her family. How ignorant I have been.

It is a special person who reads with no bias a concerned person's sincere letter. It is not easy, but it is doable when you love someone so much. The position is not a job or work. It is passion a life someone who deserves a response from Japan to Western Massachusetts. Mr Gori can you ask the zoo what is wrong with Nene??? I am very worried about her😢. She's the Matriarch of this family and very very elder. Any updates in please let us know. Here in California we lost Winston the Silverback of San Diego Zoo..he was 52. I was heart broken 💔 He was a fierce looking massive guy with a soft heart. Thank you for keeping us informed ❤️

コメント､ご指摘参考になります。ネネが関節のリュウマチを患っている事は存じておりましたが､今回の原因とは思いませんでした。動画をよく見るとネネは右足を引きずっています。明らかに以前より悪化しております。2024/09/05木曜日も東山動物園へ行きましたが､運動場での展示は中止。室内での食事もわずかでほとんど地下室で他のゴリラ達はご飯を食べていた様子です。ネネも室内の部屋に姿を現しました。少しだけご飯を食べました。その他は他のゴリラ達と距離を置き休んでおりました。そんな状況です

If you look closely at the video, Nene is limpering her right leg. It is obviously worse than before. 2024/09/05 I also went to Higashiyama Zoo on Thursday, but the exhibition at the playground was canceled. There was only a little meal indoors, and most of the other gorillas were eating in the basement. Nene also appeared in the room. I ate a little rice. Other than that, I kept my distance from the other gorillas and rested. That's the situation.

The day before her fur was all messed up and you could see lump/injury on her wrist/arm but in this you can see several marks on her left arm and shoulder, I wonder what's happened

Back when Annie and Kiyo were toddlers NeNe was very sick and got very thin. Shabani wouldn't let Annie bother her. She was a lot younger and was able to recover from whatever it was. NeNe is in pain and has been for a long time. Even with the pain medication. It is not the same as when humans have Osteoarthritis and it wears bone on none we get an operation and the pain gpes away. But poor NeNe it is questionable if she could withstand an operation at her age. TBH I don't know if joint replacements have ever been done on gorillas. I feel for the old girl, arthritis is a very painful condition. It is sad that she is in so much pain, and if will be sad for the other member of the troop when NeNe passes whenever that happens. However, NeNe will no longer be suffering in pain. Prepare yourselves because I have seen videos of mothers when they lose a toddler, one mother wouldn't give the baby up for a week, then she finally released it, it breaks your heart, and it will break the hearts of the family here too when it happens. Poor NeNe truly has suffered in pain too long. The zoo has been giving her meds for the arthritis for years, but after a while that doesn't work anymore. Poor old NeNe is a wonderful mother to Ai and Kiyo and they are going to be heartbroken all of them in different ways.

@Mr.Gori_1996 I do not know what the cause of what is going on with NeNe now. I am just going from her usual conditions of arthritis. Also, when the kids were young, she had come kind of an intestional issue and got very thin. It could be either of those, or it could be something completely different that no one has been told about.

2024/09/05木曜日も東山動物園へ行きましたが､運動場での展示は中止。室内での食事もわずかでほとんど地下室で他のゴリラ達はご飯を食べていた様子です。ネネも室内の部屋に姿を現しました。少しだけご飯を食べました。その他は他のゴリラ達と距離を置き休んでおりました。そんな状況です。

I am thinking that with NeNe's age whatever is wrong with her might end up being the cause of her demise. Kiyo and Ai will be devastated if that is the case. NeNe has been getting feeble for a long time with her Arthritis. It is all very sad, you can almost feel the tension

This is a post-combat "tactical" retreat. No old age ailments, heat sickness, or various infections, Nene was the victim of a hard attack on her left side (19:12): has multiple signs of canine bites starting from the upper part of her arm down to her knuckles where she has a large swelling probably from compression from the bite.
The alliance between Nene-Kiyomasa has failed, the son has no interest, Annie is growing up and is winning the "war" thanks to Shabani, Kiyomasa in his head has "married" Annie, he does not take sides, he knows that he would go against Shabani, Nene only has AI but she also has signs of hard attacks on her side.👋👋
You put almost exactly what I was going to post. I noticed the angry swelling on the back of her hand yesterday, but today seeing those injuries and the bad right leg seems to put most of the puzzle together. I wonder if she was attacked directly or got in between the males, likely what Ai did shortly ago.
My heart breaks for her. 😔 For all the intelligence gorillas have, there's no way we can communicate to her the "why" of it all.

Nene got attacked by Shabani the other day when Annie pranked her and she went after Annie, Shabani tackled her and seemed to dig down on her left side. Bites can be painful I am sure Nene has little muscle mass in her old age. Thx for the update, Mr. G.

I believe Nene had a stroke. Her leg is pretty limp and her right eye is drooping really bad. Can the zoo confirm her current diagnosis?

Only Kiyomasa and Ai came out at first, but after a while Annie came out, and then Shabani.
They all seemed to have no appetite.

I saw another video on someone else's channel they filmed the Zoo Keepers watching her and taking notes, so they're aware she's not eating.
