"This is actually what I want my songs to sound like - I want them to sound like Jeremy Jordan singing them." Us too, JRB!

Something weird going on with the tempo? Jeremy usually performs it at like a quicker pace.

This arrangement contains a heavy drum line. The original orchestration has no percussion.

Respectfully… the drummer has no idea what’s going on. Put a backbeat on everything, cool I guess

    • @arpeeph

      I guess he's not a broadway/Jazz drummer :)
He uses the snare and kick too aggressively :)

@@arpeeph a good drummer must be able to adapt to different situations. A large part of that is knowing/memorizing the material and being able to adjust based on what the MD requests or is looking for. Being able to hold down a groove isn’t enough

@@wtwrush Yep dude I agree, for example at 3:19 where it goes back to the 2nd verse. He should've done a half-time beat on the drums because at this point on the song. Singer is explaining the ups and downs of his new job. There should be a distinct beat difference on the CHORUS and VERSE.
If you notice the Piano is complete drowned out by the drums at this point because he's playing too loud :)

@@arpeeph yeah, Jason Robert brown’s parts are so nuanced, it’s definitely not an easy job… but still lol

@@arpeeph you're completely talking out of your ass. a 'half time' beat would be completely wrong. he switches to the ride cymbal and cross stick instead of the previous combination of hi-hat and snare, which results in a clear distinction between the bridge and the rest of the song. the reason the drums 'drown out' the piano is either because of the recording or the sound engineer, not how loud the drummer is playing. 'there should be a distinct beat difference on the chorus and verse' is something someone says when they don't actually know about drumming.
