great riding dave. that’s one reason i hate possums even if it isn’t the trailhead i’ll be hitting senders one day and the next i won’t it’s all just mind games. hopefully you build your confidence back even more after your crash like you already have. keep up the great work
@4:12 😍 . It’s just a phase mate. You and everyone else knows there’s not much you can’t do on a bike but it’s just not clicking for you at the moment . Maybe it’s a good thing to go through as you can reset and move forward in time. You are still riding very smooth and aggressively so it will come. Those sections you missed are easy to edit out but it’s part of your story and all of us really appreciate you showing that it’s ok to go through these periods . If it was easy everyone would do it mate. Some really nice riding in this video 🤙
@@DMMTB great. Busted 5 right-hand side ribs etc and then developed a bulged vertebrae disc pinching my C8 nerve causingy left arm unusable. I'm on the mend you and your videos and others keep me sane until I can ride again. Keep up the good work bro 💪
I know that mental block feeling so well, looking at jumps and features ive hit heaps of times and second guessing myself all the time now 😂😂 Good old stacks will do that to your brain
@DMMTB mate i appreciate you talking about the mental block as well, normalises quite a basic human instinct we all get, thats blown massively out of proportion when you get on youtube and look at some of the things they do at rampage or darkfest
@@kizbish I took up mtb as away to keep the ‘black dog’ creeping in. When I’m in a shitty mood at home my wife says go for a ride will you! I come back home in a much better mood. Rampage and darkfest are the high end of the scale but it’s great viewing 😀
@DMMTB honestly i took it up after training for an adventure race where one of the disciplines was MTB, been hooked since And living in the gong theres so many trails local, sometimes the biggest roadblock is picking where i want to ride for the day
It's such a mental game. It never ceases to amaze me how my mental state can differ from one day to another. Nevertheless, still some pretty good sends 👍
Another great video. It is always better to be cautious than laid up injured. There is plenty of fun stuff without jumping something you're not confident in making. Where not young anymore.😂
Hey Dave super good sends, I now know where I need to go for all the fun stuff 😂. I found the second line down that hill that’s the run-in to rush hour (now I know it’s called that 😅) to be a bit faster? Hopefully that helps a bit but towards the end you were basically clearing that first table anyways!
Its hard sometimes get over the mental blocks! But you got this mate.
Thank Jesse …. I’m getting close. 🤙🏼
Looks like you had great conditions in any case. Rod wants plan a Manly Dam Freeride Experience when you're back to full confidence 🤙
Yeah it was great conditions …. I’m getting close tbh
Soon as I get a new wheel. Maybe even throw in Spicy if the weather plays ball.

Thanks Max 🙏 .... In the next video I found my groove and hit some bigger stuff & comfortably 😊
@@DMMTB great to hear cant wait

Nice one. 🙏🤘
Thanks Jake 🙏
Love your vids. I've been out injured for 6 months. Nothing wrong with taking it easy bro
What injury did you have? I've been slowly working back up to speed & in the next video you will see I've finally found my groove 😊

@@todddecourcy5786 oh wow Todd .... that is a big injury. I'm glad that you are enjoying what I and other's put out 🤘
Hey Dave saw your Ute that morning on my way out, hopefully catch you next time you come down.
might be down in the gong this weekend. DM me on Instagram
Nice work Dave. Appreciate the guidance and care on the day. We got some good stuff done but I think we both have unfinished business with the Possum.
Yes in deed .... you did well for your 1st visit 👍

Yeah most of the time it is mental battle as apposed to a physical barrier in the this sport. Thanks for you comment I really appreciate it 🙏🏼

Yeah for shore Darren. And yes still had a good ride and getting out on the bike helps with keeping the fog in my mind at bay
Nice! would love to get there one day
Yeah it's a great little network ... the gong has some really good trails in general tbh! Thanks for watching 🙏

No indeed but the next video I found my confidence 😉

Risk vs reward. Don’t do stuff that makes you second guess, be careful out there.
Thanks Graeme. As you saw I opted to not be a hero and to leave it for another time 🙏🏼
What bike are components do you have?
Everything is stock with the two exceptions of a coil on the back and i9 hubs
Nice video, live the place, Tassie?
Thanks mate. No Wollongong south of Sydney
