    Curious, when I add oil to mine and run it, it spits all the oil back out through the carb. Any idea what would cause this?

    Woaw, awesome ! First time I see someone doing something else that just swapping the carb !
    My mantis doesn't start , so I changed the coil, now I have spark , even with braking fluid inside the chamber it doesn't start.
    I'll try swapping carb and then opening as you're doing.
    THANK YOU very much from France !

    Does the mantis tiller have a shear pin in the flywhell?

    • @2strokefanatic578
      @2strokefanatic578  2 года назад

      the newer ones dont the shear pin is on the flywheel which sucks that you need to buy a new flywheel if you shear off the pin

    Hi can the flywheels go faulty

    • @2strokefanatic578
      @2strokefanatic578  3 месяца назад

      yes flywheels can go faulty because some newer flywheels have a built in key that might get sheared if not tightened down, other than that i dont know of any other problems concerning flywheels

    Can you tell me more about using the string in order to get the “thingy” off the top of the flywheel. I am trying to see if the key is sheared. Will the string / rope get hung up inside or can I simply then JUST (just is a 4 letter word) pull the string out?
    With the plastic flywheel you can’t just put a screwdriver thru the fins to have it back up to get the nut lose.
    Probably the same as saying to use 50 to 1 oil mix. They want your extra business.
    Thanks for any added info

    • @2strokefanatic578
      @2strokefanatic578  2 года назад

      hello there sorry for the late response i been busy as of late, using the string is the best way to immobile the cylinder and piston so u can take off the nut or other parts depending on the machine also the string can be cut out or you can get it out without the worry of any damage to the piston or cylinder, the string is a lot easier to replace that the piston and cylinder i hope this helps

    My tines stopped Rotating and won’t move will that be the worm gear or worm gear bearing or something else thank you

    • @2strokefanatic578
      @2strokefanatic578  2 года назад

      yes my guess the clutch is stuck closed or oil and dirt in clutch and clutch housing or you got a rock stuck between the tines and body you may not have seen it

    Would you know how to fix a gear box that runs backward? I bought one used and it runs back at my feet instead of pulling away. Thanks!

      Sounds to me like the handle has been put on back to front. Take the handle off and put it on the other side.

    I have one and every time it warms up it locks up soled.

    • @2strokefanatic578
      @2strokefanatic578  3 года назад

      hello keith sage, so what I'm getting is that your mantis tiller locks up when warm, ok well first of all what mixture of oil to gas you using, it should be 32 to 1, the newer tillers call for 50 to 1 and that is not enough oil to lubricate the cylinder and piston, yes the label calls for 50 to 1 ratio but that a bunch of crap, its rigged that your tiller engine will fail with a 50 to 1 gas oil mix , it will burn up and lock up the engine, and cause damage to the cylinder and piston.
      also look at the piston and cylinder see if it is scored and burned, best way to do that is by taking out the muffler and shining a light to see the condition of the piston and cylinder, if you see bad scoring its best to take off the cylinder and replace what is scored and also check the rings they should move freely and not be bound up in any way, if you see that the rings are scored or broken just replace then you can get new rings for less than 10 on eBay
      well that all i can say without the tiller right in front of me to see it and problem shoot the cause, also see if the bearings in the crack are good or not if there is a lot of movement on the crank bearing yea im sorry the bearing are gone and you will need another crack and rod and that is a lot of money , so best to buy a new tiller, mantis is a good brand but the newer tillers ask for a 50 to 1 ratio of gas to oil mixture, that is not enough for the bearing, piston, cylinder to work on so it heats up and scores or locks up the motor, mantis has been for several years misleading owners of mantis tillers to under lube there tiller in hopes of you buying another tiller, but all garden and yard companies that make 2 stroke equipment have changed over to that tactic to make more money, i hope this helps and i answered your problem that best i could, also please if you have not subscribe to me please do so, tell your freinds about my channel, leave a like that helps me out a lot, and watch for my next upcoming video.

      Wow sir you are very knowledgeable I’m doing my yearly exam on why my mantis won’t start I usually swap carb and hoses and pumper ball but I broke the recoil so trying a drill bit no luck yet but thanks for info

      If a 50 to 1 mix was what the factory recommend why would they give a 2 years Commerical or a 5 year home owners warranty? I've run chain saws and many other two strokes for over many years and never had a problem. I don't see your logic on 32 to on on such small engines
