This remains my favorite comment about this fight. It has real staying power

Three other fights in the game that force you to tank LB3, and this is the first that goes "huh...that didn't work. Might as well try again". Cue surprised pikachu face.
@@redfinale I mean, tbf, most other bosses put their full power into the force tank lb3 attacks (I'm looking at you elidibus and your lb4), while endsinger is the embodiment of an emotion, so she can and will just spam it, until we kinda just brush it off with the same power, then she starts despairing and not knowing what to do, so she just flails wildly to see if that works (spoiler, it doesn't)
@@lucaspeixoto975 Granted, she probably knew that she lost at that moment. She didn't have anything left to throw at us. She succumbed to her own depair and fought hopelessly against the inevitable, which is very in-character for her; she didn't succeed because she gave up. The very point we were trying to prove. Stay strong, keep the faith, at duty's end we will meet again. We will. We will.

The fact that Thancred and Y'Shtola have the exact same pose as they do in the 'End of an Era' cinematic when they pray and Louisoix 'dies'...
Not only that! G'raha and Alisaie are filling in for Yda and Papalymo's positions during that same cinematic. A really nice homage!

I still do. Every time I get Endsinger for a trial roulette I go "Well, great. Sorry people but I'm going to be an emotional wreck soon as we clear having a planet thrown at us." lol
First time doing this run.

Preach! I did it for the first time early this month and I was like "welp time for the reset. Hmm this is taking a while, I hope I didn't discOH BOY HERE WE GO!!"
the moment you realize you've reach God tier is when the boss starts throwing planets at you.

WoL was god tier in Shadowbringers, in Endwalker we are now Beyond Cosmic, legit the strongest FF protag, and one of the stronger video game protags ever.
Makes me wonder how the next expansion will surpass this
@@user-mu1os7me8s by coming up with something that has multiversal and multi-timeline elements in the next story, now that we're meddling with time travel parallel timelines and a multiverse is probably the next step, but i think that will form after the next expansion later down the road. Let's all be honest here, if parallel timelines and a multiverse exist, we can see Emet-selch, Hythlodaeus, Venat, and everyone again
@@user-mu1os7me8s I don't think they're going to try to surpass it. I think the next few expansions will be smaller scale, more personal stories tied directly to the scions and people we care about.
I think it’s interesting that the voice lines during phase 2 for each of the Scions is thematically fitting for their personalities (even though they only say one line each).
I like how, right after G'raha's line, the female vocals come in on the music.
Every damn line of this game is written with intention, it never fails to blow me away.

I loved this fight. My raise macro was "against the backdrop of oblivion out light is brightest!" And it was the one of the most appropriate macros for the fight.

It is not only that we get our BOSS THEME.
Mechanically, the Endsinger stops doing complex attacks, and all she does now is to wildly swing in increased desperation, like literally failing at her rotation while not meeting a DPS check against us.
Wait, so when Endsinger at 10:47 says "Dynamis?" after we survived that party wiper thanks to tank lb3, does it mean that she probably meant limit breaks are made using dynamis power building up in our body during doing content, or something?

Yes basically, us surpassing our limits e.g. Limit Break is us using Dynamis (bc we are sundered and not completly full of Aether)
YAS!! Everyone in our party went crazy after that part like "What! LB3 is f*cking DYNAMIS??!!"
We hit our enrage timer, man.
During the questing in Radz-at-han we are told by nidhana that they've been studying akasa and think it's an energy outside of aether that allows one to surpass their limits during times of increased emotion.
@@etowngftddummy which I like because it mechanically fits with what LB is. During the battle emotions are running rampant the entire fight and eventually it culminates into one of the LB with 3 feeling like the most desperate of the bunch.

Just how it circles back to the Ultima fight, with the shield that we can create (instead of mummy) and the Ulti theme comes in is just world class storytelling

Sadly they can’t really do that because your PC sounds however you imagine they sound. However, we as human beings have access to the greatest and most terrible of tools, our imagination! So go forth and use your imagination to give your character a voice! Or don’t, no one can tell you what to do.

@@rachelkelley5930 That doesn't jive. We have to pick a voice for our grunts and whatnot at the start. They could have just....done voiced scenes with those same voices. Extra work sure but the "you imagine how they sound" doesn't work since....we know how they sound from that.
@@WalkerRileyMC Extra work, a lot more money, and all those voices are done by the Japanese VAs, and thus they'd have to teach them to speak flawless english first just for our lines. Oh and all the OTHER languages the game is voices in too.

I know I'm a year late and you most likely found the solution but if not, you must be using lock-on. Lock-on doesn't let you walk into the hitbox, on pc at least it's NUM5 to turn it off. Sadly idk what it is for console

Man this needs an ilvl sync or something. Had a really casual group with 3 sprouts in trial roulette and we still skimmed off the last few minutes of the fight. We finished when Urianger was speaking.

Does this imply that LB is a form of Dynamis use?
Imply nothing. It's pretty much stated as such during the early Thavnair questline.
Yes, Dynamis allows one to surpass their limits. It's the Spiral Energy of the FF universe.
It's also the only reason we had a shred of a hope of a chance to survive the Song of Oblivion, Meteion, let alone the Endsinger. Had Venat not sundered us to the point where our aether was so thin we could actually feel and use Dynamis, we'd have lost.
And not only did we use it, but so did all of the Scions. Their prayers, hopes, and feelings coalesced into the shield that saved us from the second impact. That wasn't aether, it was pure Dynamis.

8 minutes in and the SGE is 2nd in Enmity. I'd jump off the edge and abandon at that point.
It could mean one of two things: The dps are doing shit for damage or the SGE is massively overhealing.

the name of the second Trial is, do to several factors, a far bigger spoiler simply as we already know the word, have context what it refeers to, and what it represents, and evne THEN i disagree that the Name itself would be anything above a mild spoiler

People who are avoiding spoilers shouldn't be looking up FFXIV videos to begin with if they're so anal about it. Seriously, the game has been out for almost 3 weeks now.
@@SmugJay I got the 2nd trial spoiled on the 2nd day after the expansion launched just by opening RUclips out of habit while on the toilet.. It was right there in the recommended. Spoiler title + spoiler thumbnail. People shouldn't have to rush through the MSQ and seclude themselves from the internet just to avoid being spoiled. But apparently because people like this are so hungry for clicks that they can't use spoiler friendly titles and thumbnails, we do.

Spoiler: You can't. Literally every characterization has been done to death. Just follow the MST3k mantra, enjoy the show, sit back, and relax.
Wait. Your telling me Urianger is generic? I have never seen a character quite like him. What about Thancred? They did start off fairly generic but their arcs have made them stand out from other characters in media.
