Good evening from the UK, and happy Friday!! To be honest, I'm only just getting into plugins so not really that experienced as yet BUT I discovered 'OutPut Arcade' recently and that's proving to be quite inspirational from a creative perspective 🤔👍
Omnipressor I do love my eventide (own anthology) and of course Newfangled elevate bundle. Btw, With the Elevate bundle, the Equivocate , Punctuate and Saturate are also available as individual plugs... so less cpu and a few extra options.
Man... thats some incredible explanation about the plugins!! Just magic in correct hands... Super informative and highly inspiring content... Thanks millions !! Cheers & God bless Warren & everyone... 👍👍
I love these videos, and this one is excellent. You should make the same kind of videos with free equivalents. Free vst vs paid plugins. Seriously, $200 for a plugin? Who can pay that much? Certainly not someone who wants to start a home studio. If you sum up : instruments (Guitar, bass, percussions, keyboard, mics, etc.) + DAW + plugins, that's a pretty scary initial investment.
Really cool stuff Matt! I'm already using Blackhole & Arousor . The Neural Archetype Plini is in my cart right now for 50% off with their Bday sale. The other two I'll demo soon. Thanks brother.
This was funny, because 3 of these are my most used plugins (I do use Neural’s Wong more than Plini lately, but it’s style specific). Except Elevate, because an old limiter has stayed my favorite a long time (Oxford). However, I picked up NF’s Saturate on sale, which is just the clipping section, and my god it *is* magic. Ends up on a lot of buses for me when something sounds a bit too nice and needs some attitude without rebalancing the entire sound. So I have to check out the limiter package. I like that you just push everything hard as hell, it all sounds great so there’s value in it :) Also: DMG also has an amazingly flexible compressor called TrackComp. It has like 10 different hardware emulations and they’re all great. Gets a lot of use from me
Amazing video, thanks Matt and Warren for bring us another slice of valuable insight and know-how. I am a PT user, how the devil did Matt change the pitch of that frozen clip (when demonstrating the Blackhole plugin) to an octave down? Is there a keyboard shortcut to fo this?? That amp sim rocs btw! :)
Cool! Very instructive. Thanks! I am finding that I have lots of uses for free MuVerb with the damping turned up pretty high.... I don't usually have much use for guitar amp things, but I have to admit that plini sounds amazing.
OMG how come I did not know this about the DMG Audio Equilibrium? I've been emailing companies since 2012 to do this! Meaning be able to have the Low's be SSL, the mids be API's and the Highs be Neve, or whatever.... Man....and they never have any sales either on this plugin! Cause I never spend more than $50 on a plugin...99xout of 100 never spending more than $30 TBH!
I feel uncomfortable because even though I like massive rock songs I just.. don’t like compressors or limiters. God knows I’ve tried so hard to like them. Maybe I’m just using them wrong. They just make things sound lifeless and unnatural to me. Help :(
How do we sign up for the website where the course is... there is NO "Create an Account" button... Is it a "Scooby-Doo"/Angela Lansbury style "murder-mystery-suspense" website? Should "Professor Plum" create an account for me in the kitchen... With a Candlestick or what? LMFAO
Reason why modern mainstream music sucks is over-compression and too much processing...there is nothing musical about it, it's ear fatiguing and artificial.
Anything mastered over -9 LUFS sounds stupid on a good playback system. All the depth and dimension goes away and it’s frown city. My last releases have all been hitting -11.5 LUFS and they play back loud and proud on streaming services. A lot of the time I’ll give a loud master and a hi-fi master. Dynamics are amazing if you have a system to push it.
What are some of your favourite plugins? Comment below!
I love Fabfilter saturn 2 and ssl channel strip
I love soothe on bass guitar
acustica audio celestial

Thanks, there were a few plugins of which I was unaware. I'm partial to QL Spaces II, a high quality convolution reverb with a simple interface.
Thanks ever so much Lawrence!

Exactly! Thanks Matt!
i find myself often using things from the Antress Modern set of plug-ins
Too bad they’re all 32 bit
@@DouglasComical well they are what they are but i still use them pretty often...and 64 bit bridging helps
thnx!
You’re very welcome
Nice video, Matt Lange! Love the Blackhole section.

Am I the only one who clicked this misreading it as Mutt Lange? :D
Arousor sounds great, but $199 ?!? That's a tad to much.
