Based on the things in his book, Drew Struzan would be so pissed at this. That being said, decent tutorial. Definitely gonna try that combo of filters and effects.
Will it still work for our photo? Ours is more of a tall photo instead of a wide one and it's hard to get it in shape. We want to make the texture match the dimensions of our photo, but don't know how.
Great video! I really like how you explain every step!. Question: Could you re-upload the texture? Onedrive doesn't load the link correctly. Keep up with the good work!
Oil Paint Filter Unavailable For Me And I Try This Solution " Go to Image > Mode > RGB color, 8 bits/Channel." ... Also Unavailable Please Help Me To Find Solution Cause I Need This Filter Necessary...
I got probably a stupid question i want to see if i can get an answer to....im working on a project im trying to use 90's era animated western characters,i want to do the spaghetti western movie poster style....i figured this would get me about what i wanted, but its not turning out right....i want to know if there's a video that someone can point me towards that will help,or tell me something i can do to the image before hand to get the video effect to work better
@@BLTV_Photoshop yeah i dig that,i was manly trying to get some basic this is know to cause problems suggestions....im trying to work with images of anthropomorphic characters from a 90's kids show so not the most detailed to begin with and my copies may not be the best examples of them...i did how ever attempt to sharpen the starting image as much as i could and used your steps again, but i adjusted the unsharp mask a little more and lowered the opacity on the noise layer and it looks a little better If you take suggestions on tutorials to do though....id suggest doing at least one on getting the spaghetti western movie poster style, because apparently no one else has and i cant be the only one looking for some pointers to get that look
Hi Marty.. why my PS doesn't support Oil Paint effect , when i click oil paint error window appairs the problem linked to my graphics card and i am using 2 GB of Nvidia geforce gt 710 which it doesn't support openCl however the options or the effect of oil paint is clickable.
This was greatly appreciated! I’d tried to address this ( similar to this) in a question a viewer asked on pixels in your earlier live feed. I have a question for you. Why are you using the settings radios 3 pixels? Also oil paint- why a 2 brush stylization? I’m curious if you’d found this works best or a personal choice. Thank you so very much !
I assume your question about "the settings radios 3 pixels", is for the "Unsharp Mask" filter. The settings I used for this filter, as well as for the oil paint filter, is based on this photo's amount of original detail, as well as its size & resolution. As I mentioned in the video, feel free to experiment with the amount settings in each filter for your photo.
Це може допомогти, якщо ви використовуєте субтитри. Вони не ідеальні, але багато чого все одно зрозуміло. Натисніть піктограму "CC" внизу, праворуч від відео, а потім натисніть "Ukrainian".
This is one of the best photoshop tutorials for sure
There are numerous tutorials on RUclips on this subject. Those are really confusing.. but you nailed it dear... Now I know how to do this...

My Photoshop program had the Oil Paint seperated from the Stylize group. Now is just between Liquify and Vanishing Point. Thank you! 😊😊😊👍👍👍👏👏👏
Awesome tutorial, but I was really hoping you would show us how to do the text as well.
Just look up Indiana Jones font and you are basically done
I agree but just double click the layer and mess around with gradients bends and strokes and you will get it
Thanks!

The aspect ratio of the photo doesn't matter. If the resolution is larger or smaller, some of the filter setting amounts need to be higher or lower.

Hey Marty....your tutorials are explained extremely well. Any chance your could do one on creating a Basketball Sports Poster.

One would have to inspect your PSD to determine the source of the problem(s).

Does an "oil paint" filter exist for CS3 Photoshop 10.0 ?
No.
Classic !
Is there an alternative to the oil paint filter? I used to be able to use that filter but I can't use it anymore.
Go to Image > Mode > RGB color, 8 bits/Channel

Hi Marty . I have been using cs6 .but i couldn't find 3d in my photoshop. could you help? thank you
CS6 must be the "Extended" version to access 3D.
oil paint effect doesn't work/support
on my photoshop. is there a n alternative to OPE? 8-bit channel doesn't work either. Please help!
helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/oil-paint-greyed-out.html
Why is the oil painting unavailable for me, I see the option but it is a gray font and unclickable
Go to Image > Mode > RGB color, 8 bits/Channel.
Is there a workaround for earlier than CS6?
Wow! You made this idiot-proof! Great voice too. Thank you for this!
I have a 8-bit RGB photo and there is no oil paint option. I mean there is, but it's grayed out.
Go to Image > Mode > RGB color, 8 bits/Channel
Thanks but under Mode- RGB color is checked and 8 bits/channel is checked. Still no Oil Paint option.
I found this article concerning this problem: helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/oil-paint-greyed-out.html
See the documentary on Drew Struzan.
I did. The dude is awesome!
