We have a friend who is very well traveled in Paris and he recommended we stay away from the RER as it is riddled with pickpockets. Instead he suggested the Roissy bus and that worked like a charm! It was easy to find, wasn't crowded, and had space to put our luggage. Dropped us off at the Opera House and from there we caught the metro to our hotel 👌
I found the train to be super clean and easy to get around! Coming from Chicago we’re used to good public transportation and the caveats that come with it, but if you’re used to a big city I think the trains in Paris were excellent
We took the train from CDG to Gare Du Nord. I mention this only to let you know, you MUST hold onto your ticket to get into the station. You had to insert the ticket into a machine to get through the gates and there were security people watching. I thought I had lost mine, but they were friendly and patient while I frantically dug through my pockets. :~D
Where you have big problems is the return trip to CDG You can very easily think your connecting Metro ticket is good to CDG It's not you need to buy another ticked at Gare du zNord for the RER B I always see passengers stuck and can't get out from the rail terminal at CDG
@ExpertCoder14 😂 here’s this guy again correcting people about things they didn’t say. He’s just so smart about Paris 😂 How would we ever manage traveling without him 😂
This is the second video about transportation between CDG and Paris that I’ve watched recently (Les Frenchies) that has omitted the Roissy Bus. That’s different than the RATP routes that Mark refers to. Roissy Bus is fantastic if one happens to be staying near Opéra. Depending upon the time of day, Roissy Bus is actually quite fast to and from CDG.
Always, always take the express RER B into Paris, never the local. By avoiding the local train with all the stops, you also avoid the crowds and the people you might not want to ride with. The RER from CDG into Paris goes through a less than nice part of Paris. Study the schedule and wait for the express train if you can.
The “fast trains “ save about 5-7 minutes, but the time spent waiting for one is time you could be on the “local” train headed for Paris. If you want to use a “fast train”, then note the display on the first car which will show a 4-letter route or “mission.” If the mission begins with a K, then it’s a fast train that will likely stop at CDG 1 (the other station at the airport), and possibly Parc des Expositions, before proceeding directly to Gare du Nord.
Take official taxi it has flat fee of 53 to 58 Euro depending on which side of Paris. It is nice and comfortable and drop you where you want! On your way back you can opt for Uber and save like 5 euros. Simple
@@peterromanov7300 Just follow the signs to Taxi locations, ignore hustlers that walk around and ask you if you need taxi once you get to a taxi station you see taxis lined up and a person that will assigns you one very easy.
Just got back from Paris on a group tour so my experience was different. Took the Eurostar from London to Gare du Nord and bussed into the city. I did take the train and ubers in Paris as well. Take a River tour at sunset if you plan on being there in the next month! was really cool
We took the trains to Le Mans. Our hotel overlooked the train platform and If I never hear that 3 tone chime again I will be just dandy. LOL Love your channel in Central Illinois.
Our recent experience taking the RER to CDG was not great. The trains were super crowded and it seemed to take much longer than 30m (I didn't time it!). It was also a little complicated to find where to catch the correct train (at least in the station where we were). But taxi drivers didn't want to drive us! We did make it, but just a note!
I think it's important to note that you should NEVER take a taxi from someone who comes up to you in the airport - it's a scam! Take one from the taxi stand *only* (and it's a flat fee to Paris, 53€ to the right bank and 58€ to the left bank).
My travel mate scheduled for us to take a bus from CDG to near the Bastille region. We sat in the back in separate seats. At the very last minute, a man came and sat down right next to me and "man spread" his legs apart. I was disgusted. I immediately told him, "Pardonne-moi", "pardonne-moi". "Sortie. Sortie", and I moved to another seat. It wasn't like all the other seats were taken either. I was kind of proud that I was able to use French though. I told my travel mate I wanted to take a cab back to CDG when it was time to return.
I had issues getting Uber or Bolt early in the morning in Paris. It does take time for a driver to pickup the ride. So if you are in the rush to make the connection at the CDG, take that into consideration
CDG is so well connected. I quickly learned that flying to that Ryanair airport in middle of no where (Beauvais) is NOT WORTH IT. CDG is much better, can’t comment on Orly
Nice guide. What would you suggest in our case. We are arriving August next year. Sometime between early morning and 2pm. It's two of us. One will probably use a wheelchair, and will carry a suitcase with wheels and a carry-on bag. We secured an Airbnb apartment near place de la Republique, so no private driver. I've been thinking about getting an uber since the person using the wheelchair is able to get up and sit in a car and the wheelchair be folded up in the trunk. I also heard that buses are wheelchair friendly, but I don't know if it would be too much of a hassle with the suitcase and the amount of people expected during the Olympics.
Thanks for the information, I have a 7 hr layover in mid December on a Saturday afternoon. Do you think I can get an Uber to go to Eiffel Tower and come back on time. I’m not familiar with trains coming from California.
Oh yes you were correct about changing train Brussels to a Eurostar in fact it was cancelled! Glad my wife canceled coming over to meet us in london. I owe you and your wife a meal and drinks in Q city or a drink donation
Where can we leave our luggages at CDG? Is there a storage rental available to hold our luggages. Because we have a 15 hr layover in Paris and want to go around.
We have a 7 hour layover. I was looking forward to seeing at least one site in that time...does anyone know if we will need a Visa? Or is our passport ok?
Most videos tell you how to get into Paris from CDG, but not back. Take a taxi, but only if you can pay by card, yes we've been had. This Monday 24 June we went back by train from the Luxemburg, it was RAMMED and I mean RAMMED full, so much they were stopping people getting on at other stations. As for pickpockets I couldn't even get my own hand in my own pocket.
I’ve used a private driver this time it will be a taxi since we are going to 3 different cities and those costs add up quickly for transport. Is it better to just get a taxi from the stand or use the G7 app to order one?
Yeah I do this is when I goto NYC as transatlantic flights can come in quite early and one time being half dazed (can’t sleep on planes) I got lost and also nearly left my bag behind etc
Roughly, how much would a private driver be? It sounds worth working into the budget. I’ve thought of taking a solo trip and it sounds like an easier way so I don’t get lost at least on day one lol
@@Amy_V try Blacklane A car service. I think it cost 200 to get picked up at Frankfort airport, luggage carried, out and in hotel in safety etc. well worth the price starting out a trip and ending. Remember I think it was about 45 or more minutes and he was waiting for me with a sign. No bus, no multiple trains etc
Cdg is th WORSE airport EVER! As I go to Brittany to visit my family, it is best to spend the extra money to fly from Amsterdam into Rennes or Vannes and avoid Paris altogether.

Personally, I find that belt bags with the zipper facing your body are more than enough to keep your valuables safe when traveling in Europe :)
Our RER-B experience was flawless. I love the convenience and affordability of public transportation
Thanks Mark. My trip to Paris will

Where exactly do the private cars pick you up? We have reserved this with our hotel but not 100% on where to go after we exit passport check.
How do you tell the difference between a legit taxi vs a fake one?
