    Wonderful video I've read the directions but this makes everything real clear . I've done rotational grazing for over 30 years and this looks like its designed by farmers for farmers. I can't wait to see this work on pigs the only way i made the tape or string work before was by angling the post this should be better. Thanks larry

    Looking for some pointers on using the Premier One 48 inch poultry electric netting. Is there an indication of clearance that it must have at ground level or can the bottom strand touch the ground? And what if the ground is very wet? At one corner I have a clicking sound.

      Carlotta,
      The black (nonelectrified) strand on the bottom of the fence may touch the ground. The white (electrified) strands above should not, otherwise the make a direction connection to ground and short out the fence.

    Do you need to mow grass down where you set the net up to keep the grass from shorting out the fence?

    • @premier1supplies
      @premier1supplies  5 лет назад

      Grass isn't the most conductive material, so contact does not create a dead short. It's more of a leak. However, many little leaks add up to a large leak. Mowing is the best way to reduce grass contact.

    I have the poultry netting and need to make 2 paddocks next to each other. How do I connect the 2 with one charger? Is there a video on this or do I just run another orange clamp between the 2 metal plates of the fences?

      Run another orange clamp or insulated fence wire from the energizer to the second fence.

    Question: is the ground and the hot wire both in the netting, or do you still need to install a ground rod.?

    • @premier1supplies
      @premier1supplies  4 года назад

      It depends on the net. Most nets are Pos/Pos, so all the strands are connected to the fence terminal. The animal touching the fence (and ground) completes the circuit, allowing the pulse to travel back to the energizer via the ground rod.
      Pos/Neg (P/N) nets are set up so half the strands are insulated from the other half. The halves are connected to either the fence terminal or the ground rod. When an animal touches both a pos and neg connected strand, the pulse travels through the pos section of the fence, through the animal, into the neg section of the fence, back to the ground rod and into the energizer. So a ground rod is still used.

    These videos show folks with these pristine fields with tall grass, for the most part flat. My situation is a wee bit different. We have 23 acres of land in the SE corner of Georgia. Basically swamp land with a bunch of very old Georgia Live Oaks (we call the place 7 Oaks). That coupled with some of the most aggravating vines you've ever seen that crawl all over everything and anything that will stand still long enough (house included). I have looked, but cannot find at what point, or at what portion of the fence, cannot have any vegetation touching it? Is it that second to the bottom horizontal line? I know the black one at bottom is allowed to touch the ground, but what about the next one up? Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you, I'll take advantage of that soon, I have the fence up and running already, but still a bit unsure about how deep the grass can grow.

    Can I electrify it from an existing electric (single wire) fence?

    • @premier1supplies
      @premier1supplies  4 года назад +1

      Yes. As long as you have enough available energy from the original fence. Give us a call at 800-282-6631 if you have further questions.

    I am getting ready to start Beekeeping. I have trouble with trespassers on my land. I have had an electric fence in the past to keep livestock in, Now my question is to use it to keep unauthorized people out. especially away from the beehives. I have 2 acres to guard. Often I am not always home weeks or months at a time. I am tired of everyone driving their 4 wheelers across my land, destroying and / or stealing stuff. I sure do not want them spraying my hives with wasp poison or whatever they decide to use. so I was thinking of solar electric fence, but I have best sun close to the house, the bees will be at the far side of the land. So, I am curious if there is a way I can make the entire two acres hot ( electrified) , in a manner no one can enter without some kind of remote controll on / off power button, kind of like a car key fob lock? Make it so I have to have that remote to power the fence on or off. the ones that are not solar like I have had in past, I would use a remote power on / off plug simalar to one of theses: search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AwrB8o7eAVZZZ3wAiYaJzbkF?p=remote%20power%20on%20/%20off%20plug&fr=yset_widemail_chr_win&fr2=p%3As%2Cv%3Ai%2Cm%3Apivot&stype=web Is there any way to use somthing like this on a solar powerd eletric fenc? I do not want gate handles where anyone can go through whenever they please. I want to make it basicly as I mentioned so I must have that remote to enter or exit the land. is it possible? how would I do this?

      Thanks for asking. Electric fencing is intended for livestock and wildlife, not for humans. We are unable to offer any suggestions for deterring humans from your property.
      However, if you need to keep your bees safe from wildlife, please give us a call at 1-800-282-6631 and our consultants will advise you of your options.
