She earned a Master of Arts degree in English from Cornell University in 1955, for which she wrote a thesis on suicide in the works of William Faulkner and Virginia Woolf! That's about it! On the other hand, who cares, wheather she's got a Dr. or not?
@drmpouncil She is absolutely *Professor Morrison*, but I'm not sure she's Doctor. At least, not in the sense of having completed her PhD. I do believe she has been awarded honorary doctorates. Not trying to hate. I own all her books and love her work immensely. But those of us in blackademia who went through the fire of that PhD get a little protective about throwing that Dr around, LOL.

She received an M.Phil - academia could not contain/restrain this woman further than that. She flew and took us with her.
