Maybe you could fix the audio and upload this one again? Be such a shame if people don't watch because the audio is like nails on a chalkboard, I'm watching it but I'm suffering too😂❤❤
Apologies for the sound quality - it was the first day with a new camera setup… we cleaned it up as best we could - but will make it better for future videos.
The audio was difficult, but I made it through! Thanks to Dirty Worms for sharing your process and Captain Matt for sharing it forward. :)
I agree... the audio is so bad that the closed caption could not translate properly... i finally stopped listening about 20 minutes into the video.
Hi Captain Matt, Luke, Jude, Pam and fellow Worm People! Captain Matt, it was an honor and a privilege to have you visit us here at Dirty Worm Composting. Thank you for always sharing your knowledge and for creating The Worm People Community. As a global forum, Worm People is a valuable resource for support, mentorship, and education for all of us worm enthusiasts. David and I hope we were able to offer some insights into the daily workings of a small, family owned worm farm. We all learn from each other and I know you know that Worm People are Really Nice People. Thank you everyone for your support and positive remarks. It means so much to us!
Where did you get those rolling shelving units, please? They look perfect for holding multiple bus bins.
24:50 I’m only halfway thru the video, unfortunately my brain exploded from the vpm (value per minute) ratio. This is undeniably…the single greatest worm video I’ve ever watched & Ive watched them ALL! Capt Matt this has zero affect on the worm crown. You will always be Worm King in my eyes! But it’s hard deny what I’ve stumbled upon here. Worm people across the world have been watching with a dropped jaw from the moment he said “just cardboard”. Huh? I felt my jet propellers ignite. And I’m old (ish) I haven’t had jet propellers since the early 90’s when I enlisted in the military. This is incredible stuff. I feel like I just robbed this family bc the knowledge they’ve parted with will be #LifeChanging for tens of thousands of people-even millions if people were inclined to take advantage of it.
Thank you Capt Matt & God bless you & your famteam & David & Renee at #DirtyWormComposting for sharing & for caring. Selfish people don’t do this. So thank you guys for your selflessness when it comes to Gods brilliant little worm soldiers!
@victorybase5847 I concur with everything you said, such wonderful knowledge.
I also make my own precompost cardboard as well. I learned that from Jane at Rockinworms.
It is so nice Renee and David to see you guys grow!! I am so proud of you two!! Nice to see your operation in action! Thank CaptN for bringing this to us all!!
Hi Samantha! Thank you for the kindness- David and I enjoyed your Worm Farming Conference and look forward to next year.
Meme. Do you think this process will work just as well with European night crawlers instead of African night crawlers?
@@larryhobbs8769 ABSOLUTLEY!!
I think the conference needs to be in Puerto Rico next year 😂@@DirtyWormComposting
@@DirtyWormComposting thank you!!
Awesome video, amazing knowledge and presentation. Thank you Capt. Matt for taking us there. 😅 I was starting to get discouraged, but now I'm going to shift gears and move forward with my operation. The science behind everything that they're doing their is mind-blowing🎉🎉. The mycelium the mushrooms the castings and some awesome new tools of the trade. Godspeed to us all
Impressive operation Renee and David! That sifter is much easier on the worms than other types. Captain Matt, thanks for showcasing the Dirty Worm farm!

Thanks for your generosity in sharing your wisdom and experience! I'm just getting started and learned a lot. Thanks to Captain Matt and Jude for making the trip to Florida to bring this to the Worm People!
Another great worm farm tour. Thank you Captain Matt & Jude for introducing us to this nice operation!
The audio is killing me. Really trying to get the info from this video because it seams like they are doing good things but the audio is a major deterrent here.
What an amazing worm farm! I wish them much success! I’m just a “two bins in the kitchen” gal. This makes me want to up my game!
Playing at 1.25 or 1.5 audio speed helps. Also make sure “stable audio” is turned OFF in advanced settings. Not perfect but much better IMO.
We ordered some worms from them. They arrived and are doing great!
I love this video! It’s very close to what I have going on! Thanks for posting the shifter part! I have been looking for something like that to do my large bins with and accommodate my disability too! Thank you!!
Thank you for the great info and sharing your successes and what is working for you. Great job!!!
What are the dimensions of the bus trays? Would like to try them. Thanks.
👋👋👋👋 Thanks. Good work!
Love this!! ♥️
Love the rack system. Where did you get the steel shelving with those handy caster covers over them?
interesting stuff
What are you putting in your worm feed.
What do you use to shred cardboard?
I have a question about my worms that I hope you can answer. I have a bed that is 48x48x24 deep that is on the ground made with 3 cinder blocks high, and has a weed fabric bottom in it. My original bedding was peat, straw, leaves, etc... I added 1000 each of reds and n.crawlers. I mainly use this for raising fishing worms, and no other uses. I feed them constantly and they eat as much as I can feed them. My worms don't seem to multiply nor get any larger than about 2 inches in length. I do not use that many for fishing and figure out why they don't get bigger. Do you have any answers for this?
Worms like carbs and sugars. Grains and fruit and molasses will get them chunky.
please upload again eed audio fixing
Will the same process work with European night crawlers instead of African night crawlers?
Thanks
Is there a link to the Dirty Worm website for purchase? I’ve been wanting to make my own worm tea and their DIY setup is pretty slick.

can I ask where you get your cardboard?
I think he said from the Dollar Stores. Our experience has been appliance stores are great to work with because you get larger boxes without a lot of stickers that have to be removed. Just watch out for overly thick-walled boxes. They don't shred well.
Unfortunately, the sound quality is poor.
Apologies for the sound quality - it was the first day with a new camera setup… we cleaned it up as best we could - but will make it better for future videos.
Is there a difference between African Nightcrawlers and European Nightcrawlers? If so, what is the difference?
African night crawlers are invasive and you'll need to make sure you keep them contained so they do not inhibit the indigenous worms.
I have tried to start a worm bin so many times. The first was strangely the only successful one. All the others just had the worms disappearing. There were the toads and lizards (covered but somehow they slipped through), once where they all mysteriously died (bodies were disintegrated/mushy, easily separated) and then two where they just mysteriously kept dwindling in numbers. I've done a lot of research but to this day we don't know what happened to those 3 instances. Worms aren't cheap where we are too.
I am having the same problem. Where the worms are deformed and just turning to mush. I cant figure out what im doing wrong
@@jeffmiller2434 One of the theories I had was the plastic container I had them in. But I used 3 different types, 1 that used to contain paint, 2 that were cheap and smelled plasticky when new, and 1 that was a food-safe bucket. The most successful one was the paint bucket and the one where worms turned to mush was the food-safe one!
Can't understand all audio.
Please redo the audio. I am old and wearing hearing aids so the issues with the audio are exacerbated. I can't understand what you are saying but I really want to. I have the subtitles on and that helps but I find that many of the most important words are not translated into the subtitles with clarity so I don't know what they are.
I agree! 100% I'm NOT old, but I thought I was loosing my hearing. Outside of that, excellent video
🇳🇿❤️🪱
I'm sorry. This video look so informative, but I can't understand a thing said for most of the video.
You cannot understand a word you say the auto is horrible
It’s not that bad
