This change makes NA basically like EU, everyone plays in comp in german server, ppl in germany love it, ppl outside germany hate it, the farther from germany they are the more they hate.
Not at all, North America is way bigger than Europe and I don't think you realize how much bigger it is. North America is around 2.5x bigger than Europe and the USA alone is as big as Europe... This means that the ping disparity in the USA alone is the same as Europe and that's excluding Mexico and Canada. People in France and Germany could get around the same ping on Europe Server but people in Canada and the US are not even close to getting the same ping on NA Central because of how bigger it is which is why there was NA West and NA East servers to begin with. The only solution is probably to have NA Central servers closer to the middle of the USA so like Kansas City or Chicago...
@@v8arctis660 Yeah, I know is bigger than EU, this is what I meant, the farther ppl are from the server the more they will hate. As someone who plays from canada this is really a big disadvantage I used to get around 0-10 now i play on 40-50 It's not even fun playing arenas or tournaments anymore
I really like the idea of multiple server queues for Arena, but I think it's gonna be held back by fortnite's inherent flaws in its gameplay. As you've said, ping isn't really an issue in zero build. No other shooter favors ping more than fortnite, and that's because fortnite plays more like a fighting game than an actual shooter. There needs to be changes to building that doesn't make it favor any ping.
@@brycey. better netcode. They should implement something similar to rollback netcode (look it up) for building, then rework 50/50 build coin toss mechanic and make it something similar to build fatigue. Even with a lan cable best I got was 17 ping in arena and 2 ping in creative while living in Canada BC. Or NA West. But now that they did this to only play on central, I’m getting 60-120 ping normally 80 ping. Yeah it’s playable for arena but not worth it for comp, I can’t play comp now sadly. I have no clue why fortnite did this, they should’ve just added way more servers. This is a bad decision because only on what I’ve seen before is east players gets the benifits.
I live in California (Northern) and I went from averaging 20 ping in arena to 60-70. It sucks because people have a advantage and it’s way harder to play on this high ping all the time especially as a comp player.
That would cost too much and just create more problems. All East and West USA players would still have the same ping problems they would with NA central.

Hey @reisshub I’m from Ontario Canada and I’m averaging 80-90 in all cups, it hurts my gameplay significantly trying to play on central servers, however it’s given me a new strength in Fortnite, patience. It’s taught me to play more patient and wait for players to give me opportunities instead of trying to key people all the time. Just thought I mention this to you
they should have made them all independent servers that way everyone is happy the only single downside to that that i can think of is queue times but everyone gets low ping so i think its fair
Thank you for pointing out Canada. I could run every season I played with my pc but this season is something else. Every one of my friends who plays on west has significantly more ping because epic wrecked it with NA-Central. You make the best content man and I love watching you ❤
I live in Kentucky when I first got my fiber optic internet I used to get 20 ping on NA-East servers. after a while I get 35-40. Now since they added Central it seems that the NA-East servers are less stressed from so many players and now I get 16 ping average.
I only see 2 solutions. 1 change where the servers are at ( maybe put them in center of the US ) , 2 they just keep na west and na east and give central their own tourneys
Is it impossible to run all NA games through all 3 servers? Aka, is it possible to have players from all three servers to play in the same game? I imagine it’s not because this seems like the most logical way to solve so many issues like ping inequality and queue times.
this is a horrible addition, all western canadian players are on 100+ ping no matter what server now besides east, getting 70-80 on EAST compared to central where its now 100+
I'm stuck in the Northern midwest and the latency is horrible even on series x. I have learned to lead players and it helps at a distance, but at close range it almost always comes down to horrible frame rate and jitters. Skill level should be judged by location

i have lived in a suburb an hour away from dallas for over 8 years so this is amazing for me but i feel bad for people who lived on the coasts or in canada
I am in Washington State, and this brings me from an avg of 20 ping to an avg of 50 ping in Arena and Tournaments. While this isn't horrible, I think I have some solutions. Solution 1: While this solution will only really solve ping issues, I think it would be a great step in helping Canadian players, and the far north players, a ton. This would be some sort of ping limiter or ping cap (idk what the exact term is) where the lowest ping you can achieve in Arena and Tournaments would be 30. This would make Central players play a minimum of 30 ping, allowing Canadian players and far north players to only be at a ~30-60 ping difference, rather than a ~100 ping difference. Solution 2: As you stated, they still have West and East servers, just adding Central in, and the tournaments + arena are the only things that are locked to Central. However, I don't see why they can't just have a West, East, and Central server for Arena. Like, I understand some of the issues behind it, and how separated the community would be, but at least you wouldn't be screwing Canadians and far north players over, and then Mexico could still play. I have some other ideas, but I think these two are the most logical. Fortnite's competitive scene is already not doing so well compared to other games. So, I just think this update will make it worse.
Im in quebec, not too far from montreal and bro i am not even up north that much in creative i have around 40 ping and in game in na central i have 60+,they should remove nae and naw and do it like eu,having many servers in one big region,an na server
the people that live in west and east complaining about ping don't understand that for all of fortnite competitive history, those in central regions in the U.S were on bad ping as well, and just dealt with it. Now that there is a central server, giving people that previously had terrible connections an opportunity to play with good ping, people are complaining. It just blows my mind
this is exactly what i've been saying. before that update I had ~60 ping on both na east and west, but now I consistently run 0 ping because I live right next to Dallas, this is an absolute win on my part.
I'm from Canada and I get like to AVG 20+ ping Now with the NA Central I get 55+ ping In my opinion this might be the worst thing that epic will probably do for next season 😔
for valorant, it doesnt choose which server you play on, you select which server(s) you want to play on and it'll load you just into the server(s) you select, no preference just whichever server it finds a match for you in first

I do like the 2 regions being together. However being from Western Canada my ping went from 25 on west to 105 on central. Calling the server central is what the issue is. It is actually na south and I've seen people living in central state such as Michigan getting higher ping on central then they do on east which doesn't make sense due to the server titles
we just need a montana server :p
Yea I’m all the way up in Wisconsin and get 65 ping in central 💀, they need to add an Illinois server asap

One very interesting thing to note, a lot of Latin American countries in between Mexico and North America along with a few other countries such as the Dominican Republic, who used to have Brazilian servers as their best option, now may have a second solid option to go with
A lot of peruvian players I have met had Na East as their best option for some reason

If they make it like valorant queues where its one region but different servers i can already see the complaints of getting connected to a worse server in different games of a tournament.
"Bro im in a 60 ping lobby i cant build"
I don't know if this has happened to many, but since they created the na central servers, the ping has always run at 120, and I'm from Venezuela, but before they created them, the game ran at 70, 80 stable ping, hopefully that's temporary, but these days I've been having a very hard time with the ping, and hopefully they fix it to play well as before!!

As a west player that hard 0 ping to now 70-100 ping it sucks
And about ppl in France and Germany getting that same ping, not at all, I live in France, my ping is 30-40ms ping in german servers, before that when the cash cups weren't in German servers, my ping was around 5-10ms. Those were the times when u saw Solary (French eSports Team) popping Top very often in the tournaments, anyways yeah Is gona be hard for people that live in Canada and stuff. You will still see some of the best pros still popping with over 150 ping tho, just like when Savage or other EU pros pop in NA cups with over 150 ping.
I play at 30 ping on a ps4 in Chicago with NA East servers. I get 70-100 ping on central and it’s frustrating trying to build because I keep going through stuff.
Us Canadians taking the biggest L with this 😭
I'm in the UK lol
I live in Northwest Florida, and my ping in the settings menu, is at most 8 lower from what I've seen so far. sooooooo I really am not affected by this change.
There should be a na west server placed near the four corners in the u.s. it would be about equal distance to places like phoenix, Las vegas, salt lake, denver, Albuquerque. I think Mexico would have a better server to choose from too.
Totally agree
I have spent so much money on this game for this s**t . This ping is horrible it literally killed comp for my friends and me. Literally moving to another game. So sad been playing since chapter 1 season 1.

Im hoping you can dive into if South Africa and the region there gets servers? I'm a South African player and we need to play on Europe and still get 80-150 ping.
Really hope you do a video bringing this to light because lots of people been giving up on this game in my region.
They should make it central Africa cause there's honestly just as much Nigerian, egyptian and Ghanaian players in Africa.

they need to add a south america server because brazil only works for brazil and a part of argentina, all of center america and south america gets high ping in brazil and na east
Meanwhile my ping went from 0 to 87 bruh Florida needs priority more than it has
They need to add more servers to central especially one in canada
i hope they add to Manitoba bc it center of canada and i dont think add a server to canada is going to difference bc the cup will be in taxas but idk it can maybe help
If they Split North America Into the 2 Countries. i would be in love with it. Imagine having CE and CW And CC Servers. While also keeping the american servers in business. the tourneys should be Canada Central and US Central. But like arena and stuff should be low ping.
@BlizzardFN no they have two servers of na central
As someone who plays from canada this is really a big disadvantage I used to get around 0-10 now i play on 40-50 It's not even fun playing arenas or tournaments anymore
I really like the idea of multiple server queues for Arena, but I think it's gonna be held back by fortnite's inherent flaws in its gameplay. As you've said, ping isn't really an issue in zero build. No other shooter favors ping more than fortnite, and that's because fortnite plays more like a fighting game than an actual shooter. There needs to be changes to building that doesn't make it favor any ping.
and how are they gonna make builds not favor ping?
@@brycey. i think there was something they did in a test event called like client based building
@@troginator any vid about it?? :O
@@brycey. better netcode.
They should implement something similar to rollback netcode (look it up) for building, then rework 50/50 build coin toss mechanic and make it something similar to build fatigue. They need to set up a central server in Canada
The problem is there is just not enough people here for it to be worth epics while and queue times would be very bad
They just need to throw a second NA central server in and put it in Minneapolis
Would help a lot of people in the U.S and would definitely help out Canadians
Even with a lan cable best I got was 17 ping in arena and 2 ping in creative while living in Canada BC. Or NA West. But now that they did this to only play on central, I’m getting 60-120 ping normally 80 ping. Yeah it’s playable for arena but not worth it for comp, I can’t play comp now sadly. I have no clue why fortnite did this, they should’ve just added way more servers. This is a bad decision because only on what I’ve seen before is east players gets the benifits.
they should’ve made the server in the actual central of US, it’s so far south for canada it’s 50-70 ping all game

Just thought I mention this to you
I went from 10 on west to ping to 109 central I can’t play comp anymore
they should have made them all independent servers that way everyone is happy the only single downside to that that i can think of is queue times but everyone gets low ping so i think its fair

As a Canadian, I quit comp because of this, not even worth trying to play on central servers
As an na East player this update has ruined the game for me. I can’t play arena anymore because every game I get up to 50-70 ping it sucks
Is it impossible to run all NA games through all 3 servers? Aka, is it possible to have players from all three servers to play in the same game? I imagine it’s not because this seems like the most logical way to solve so many issues like ping inequality and queue times.
Unfortunately I think it’s impossible, 1 game has to be hosted on a single server
As a Canadian player, i feel that i will be severely disadvantaged, mostly because of the fact that i normally play on at least 25 ping
this is a horrible addition, all western canadian players are on 100+ ping no matter what server now besides east, getting 70-80 on EAST compared to central where its now 100+
I’m in Canada and used to run 20 ping, now because of these servers it’s completely unplayable and I’m on 120 ping on average
I used to get 0 ping on west (I live in California) and now get around 60-70 on central, which is strange cause I get the same on east
I'm stuck in the Northern midwest and the latency is horrible even on series x. I have learned to lead players and it helps at a distance, but at close range it almost always comes down to horrible frame rate and jitters. Skill level should be judged by location
I have an idea, keep comp on east and west, just add central, and put all of NA on one bracket for tournaments

I’m from Morocco so it’s far enough away to get bad ping but too close to Europe for them to make a North Africa region 😔
The only thing I hate about this is that now the tournaments start at 8:00pm and end at 11:00pm and so I can only play like 1 hour into the tournaments because I have school in the morning. it used to be from 6:00pm to 9:00pm which was fine for me I wish they would change it back or something idk how time zones work.

im west and already get up to 50-60 ping sometimes... ill get like 80-100 on central which is basically unplayable
I get 40-50 ping nae and I usually norm 20-30 so this is an L ngl
