This has been one of my favorite setting of this text for a while now! The solemn and dark (yet warm and lush) harmonies that make up the majority of the piece really allow for its ending to shine. Such cool music!!!

11:49 to the end always gets me. Lovely ending to a lovely piece.
His work can be difficult… but has not yet failed to move me.

It’s a fabulous piece. I loved singing it when I did it. And the homage to the more famous Allegri setting in the middle of it is fabulous.
