    The only time I use the bleeder valves I added is when I compress the forks with tie down straps during transportation. My objective is to take the extra pressure out during the sustained compression of transport.

    SIMPLY put bike on kickstand and then standing towards the mid part of bike simply pull sideways backwards via grasping throttle side of handlebar with forks full lock right....The leverage and perfect pivot point EASILY lifts the front end totally off ground ! AND it is not hard at all to balance there even with one hand.(obviously right hand).very little muscle involved at all ..then simply use your OTHER hand (left) to bleed air....DUHHH!! Try this and then please comment.....One more example of a thing that seems so much more involved than it need be! Seriously just try this you WILL be amazed

    Nature always provides, use a log or rock as a bike stand, or use yr kick stand to raise the front wheel off the ground simple, def good idea the bleeders 🤙

      I use the MP ones too. I have noticed some oil coming out when I bleed. Not sure what thats about but its not much.

    I was just thinking about buying some of these as there is a huge elevation difference between my home and where I ride. I don't see why you couldn't just extend the suspension upward by lightly pulling up on the handlebars, no need to lift it off the ground.

    only thing that concerns me is if dirt gets trapped and they leak or can not release pressure. I own them for my bike though and have not had thus issue. just something to think about

    I heard that the air in the fork can be used as a tuning aid. More air, stiffer fork, less air, softer fork. There is no right or wrong way. It depends on how you ride. For me, it should be open all the time but the fork oil needs to stay in when the bikes upside down 😂

    Excellent I would like to see you put in some softer springs and add a tire schrader valve so you can tune your forks on the trail with a bicycle tire pump like your thinking and style

    Shouldn't have to put the bike on a stand just hit the button a couple quick times to let some air out but not all

    @anthonyr6555 6 лет назад

    Thank you. I wanted to know what the little button did now I do. while I was searching for a brake caliper bleeder. The one-man brake bleeder did not work for me instead I just use a caliper itself

    I learned about shock suspension do RCs the more the suspension moves up and down the tougher it gets is there a liquid that doesn't vaporize I guess

    So I just bought a bike and the pro taper bars are holding the valves in so when you push down it blows air how do I clock them around more. So it's not held in

      turn the fork tube around like 30 deg, or install bars risers

    Curious why they aren't OEM on all bikes... Why a screw in the first place?

    • @ragemode5097
      @ragemode5097 6 лет назад +4

      Jeffrey Knutsen Because of money. Screws are cheap.
      KTM sells nearly 200.000 bikes per year.
      For simplicity let’s say two bleader valves cost KTM 5$ in production and installing. If they would install them on every bike that would cost them 1.000.000$.
      But if KTM sells them for 40$ they just find 25.000 people who buy those and they make 1.000.000$ minus some small amount of production and logistic costs.
      And I’m sure there are more than 25.000 people that buy those every year.

  • @dadthelad
    @dadthelad 3 года назад

    So if you have to keep bleeding the regularly, how does the air get in them in the first place? How does in not get depleted over time?

    • @vegasromaniac
      @vegasromaniac  3 года назад

      Yeah later on I forgot to bleed them and they work fine... So I got rid of the valves

    my 2003 ktm exc 250 forks arnt working well after I unscrewed the bleeder valve they don't fully extend, they just hang a little lower than usual, how do I fix this?

    • @vegasromaniac
      @vegasromaniac  6 лет назад

      The bleeder valve can't create that problem, you might have colapsed springs or something.

    • @Steveqld
      @Steveqld 4 года назад +2

      Or did you possibly release air while forks compressed, then sealing screw again may cause a vacuum in the forks ?

      No because the upper stanchion spins seperate from the lower fork tube.
