As a former GT 1030 DDR5 owner, this is such a scam... They are milking budget gamers out of their wallet... Good thing I was able to get a good deal for a 3070 but still much respect for 1030 DDR5
There's actually one problem with GT 1030 - there are variants also with 2 GB and 4 GB VRAM. Main issue is the fact that ONLY! and ONLY the DDR4 variant of GT 1030 has both variants with 2 GB and 4 GB, the DDR5 variant is NOT AVAILABLE with 4 GB, only in 2 GB VRAM. This might be issue because despite the GT 1030's DDR5 variant is far more powerful, some new games might only run on its DDR4 variant that has a 4 GB VRAM since quite some new games will refuse to even run on the 2 GB DDR5 variant due to its insufficient (2 GB only) VRAM as they has strict 4 GB VRAM minimum to can even start successfuly, even for their lowest graphics. Some of more recent open-world Steam games I have in my Steam wishlist, like Medieval Dynasty, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will also refuse to run on anything below 4 GB (in GT 1030's case, these might work and launch ONLY on its DDR4 variant with 4 GB of VRAM), some of newest games, like Tchia and Ghostwire: Tokyo, has even listing 6 GB VRAM GPUs REQUIRED as minimum to be able to run, even for their lowest details.
Fr i didn't even know that there was a ddr4 and bought this because the prices are almost same for ddr4 and 5😭 I thought about saving my money to get a new GPU after a year but the scam hit me bad💀
And only if you don't have integrated graphics. Which is what it was probably designed for - some basic office PC that has no igpu and is only used for text documents / datasheets.

From the same creaters of GT 1030 DDR4 we have more recently RTX 3060 8GB and RTX 3050 6GB. We have a lot more "GT" GPUs that have the same name, but completelly diffenet specs and performance, like GT 730, for example.
I think it performs worse in most games than even a GDDR5 64-bit GT 730 (except DX12 native games)! The existence of this GPU, GTX 1060 3gb, RTX 3050 6GB etc and countless other examples over the years means that Nvidia doesn't give a crap about the lower-end consumers, taking advantage of a person's ignorance or naivety to sell them a worse product for only a slight "discount" at best. Also is that pigeon albino? Looks cool.
3050 6gb is the only card you mentioned that actually has a reason to exist. It does not need additional power connector, with just 75W of power consumption all from the PCI-E slot. It just should not be named 3050 as it is performing much worse and the price should be far lower.
The GT 1030 DDR4 version is basically the same performance of the older GT 730 DDR5. (had one) I actually own a couple GT 1030's but they are both DDR5 versions. What's nice about these GPU's is the low power usage around 30 watts and can play older games surprisingly well. I recently upgraded my media rig to a GTX 1650 DDR6 version. At least the GT 1030 doesn't heat the room? Stay away from the DDR4 version! Thanks zWORMz for the painful object lesson!
Every time it needs to dump data fast, that thing hangs up. You have DDR5 in your system and the GPU has DDR4. So, there is a significant bandwidth bottleneck. Also, the DDR4 in that is SDDR. Yes that is right. It is not GDDR. So it is standard DDR4 like what you have in a PC running at 1050 Mhz. Yep, DDR4 2100. Giving it 1/3rd the memory bandwidth that the GDDR5 version has. The TDP is also 10 Watts less @ 20watts. It's also PCIe 3.0. This version is an iGPU on a card.
thankfully someone knows this. some dude was giving me crap in a comment ealier that he deleted cause he didn't know that gpus come in ddr variants nowadays it's a moot point since everything is gddr I think, low ends gpus have essentially died but even back during the 700 Nvidia series, we still had ddr3 variants (long after gddr3 had died out) I really don't think alot of people know this. they just assume the g is dropped from discussion for convenience sake
It literally performs like a ryzen 7320u/7520u which is basically a mobile zen 2 4c/8t CPU with a 2cu rdna 2 igpu and this consumes like 15W(tdp both CPU and GPU) and lpddr5. So basically a display adapter(the 2 cu rdna 2 igpu is used in mendocino ryzen mobile low end apus and some desktop ryzen 7000 prob as a display adapter) beats(or is similar) to a gt 1030.That sucks.
as someone who gamed on it till march, I am relieved. Though it did manage a pretty good gameplay. I played SOTTR on it at 40fps, albeit very low res. I have a 3050 LP now
i remember playing rdr2 back with my gtx 1050 ti with somewhat similar settings to the xbox one/ps4 (maybe a little bit higher) on 1080p getting something between 30 to 40 fps and this was way better than this "gpu" even tho its not pretty much comparable

The worst is if you can hear the game stuttering. My Vega 8 of the Ryzen 5600G is about 2-3 faster. I think this GPU is made for Video output and desktop enviroment. If you have an -F CPU.

Bruh my laptop with a i7 and a GeForce 940m runs warzone 3 at 30 FPS locked feels like an Xbox one first gen experience, unlocked it varies 30-60 fps with dips down to 25 fps… that’s at 1366x768 with Nvidia up scaling
The GT 1030 is a perfect 720p card, i mean the GDDR5 card, the DDR4 version is the salmonella version of the GT 1030, it's a GT 1030 with both knees severed . . . Why Nvidia thought this was a good idea, i don't know, i think profit marges weren't that big . . .
Back in the day when it was released GDDR5 was expensive. Also, Nvidia does not care much about the sheep 😁 They pull that all the time - 1650 was made with GDDR5 and GDDR6 , mobile GPUs are much slower than desktop GPUs ... yet they all have same name.

My Ryzen 5 5600G's iGPU is better than this xD EDIT: I just realized that this is worse than my old GT 640 (at least in GTA 5 and Fallout 4). It was a pretty rare 2GB GDDR5 model from Gigabyte (GV-N640D5-2GI).
It's not that bad... It's like a Gt 730 with lower consumption. It allows you to play many titles for little money, it is for a PC with a Core 2 Duo, or a I3/i5 of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation

R5 240 and R7 250 are much better (GCN cards, so of course) for the same price, Nimez drivers do give them a nice little bump in performance too.

i beat fallout 4 on a gt 730 14gigapixel version vs the 5gp version / ultra ultra low settings even removed shaders and shadows completely for 60+ fps

EDIT: I just realized that this is worse than my old GT 640 (at least in GTA 5 and Fallout 4). It was a pretty rare 2GB GDDR5 model from Gigabyte (GV-N640D5-2GI).

Try to test the GT 1010. Have 256 CUDA Vs 384 of GT 1030. Also have a GDDR5 and DDR4 versión.

Some other comments have said the GT 1010 is actually faster than this GT 1030 DDR4 version. I'm inclined to believe them.
