    Thank you very much for this tutorial and film grain overlay link. I've been experimenting and ended up with bringing opacity down to 40% for my coastal sunset shots. It takes the edge of the 'phone footage' look. Very pleased!

    may I ask you a question? my machine can't run DR, so I'm working my way to filmmaking through Kdenlive. I already knew about the overlay trick to add grain due to the fact that Kdenlive native "grain" effect is actually some very ugly noise. However, I noticed when I increase the opacity of the grain video in order to see how grainy/far can I go, the image immediately starts to loose contrast. It's not just contrast, as you may imagine, it's actually the original footage giving space to the grain footage. I wonder if through some universal (DR, Kdenlive etc.) overlay settings there's a way to increase the grain and only it, without having to fix contrast after adding grain - just like here, as your result looks perfect.

    • @GreenGoatProductions
      @GreenGoatProductions  2 года назад

      Thx for the sub and comment. I've never actually heard of that program you're using. The only thing I would say, would be to do the grade. Add the grain. Then increase contrast. It's strange that is happening, sounds like it's lifting your shadows maybe? Refer back to the scopes after the grain and see if anything has moved around

    I would like to ask a question. After color grading a video, I want to add text with animation. However, the text is also affected by the color grading, and the color I set in the Fusion page changes. How can I add the text without it being affected by the color grading?

    • @GreenGoatProductions

      Adding text in the edit page I'm guessing? If so, make sure it's on the top layer and add as a solid in composite mode. Should work

    • @GreenGoatProductions
      @GreenGoatProductions  Месяц назад

      @Kento_Ikeda it depends what you're using it for. Grading. I'd suggest learning some fundamentals, exposure, balance and colour management etc. editing, it's similar to premiere. Learn things like how to relink a clip etc. I'm going to make a video about how to colour grade with the free version once I have time
      It will go through everything you need to get started.

    • @GreenGoatProductions
      @GreenGoatProductions  4 года назад +2

      Hey, I had to re read my own description to understand your question. I would say people use it too much and make to too obvious that it's been digitally put in there and not part of the original image. It needs to blend in with the look and feel of the film, don't just chuck it in for the sake of chucking it in.
      Thanks for the question
