  • A lesser talked about affect of alcohol addiction. This affected me often when I was in the midst of my troubles and it is something I had to learn about the hard way. I hope to spread awareness of this to ultimately inform people of the dangers to going “cold turkey” with alcohol when you’re bodily dependent! Take care guys and gals, loads of love . JM. I wish the comment sections on vids like this didn’t always turn into a “I had it worse” pissing contest.
Don’t let that take away from the fact you conquered what most can’t imagine, thank you for sharing and most importantly thinking yourself worth saving

After a 5 day bender, my wife's drinking go so bad that she was shaking so much I'd never seen her that hungover before. That afternoon she vomited all over herself, stood up and looked really confused and disoriented and then groaned, her eyes went back into her head and her arms/hands curled up and she collapsed on the floor and had a seizure. I had to call the ambulance and when they arrived she'd stopped seizuring but was just laying there snorting like a pig, exhausted from the seizure. They took her to hospital and released her a few hours later. The next few days she had no memory of the event, was a complete zombie, thought she was somewhere else instead of in our home. We went to the GP because she wasn't quite right and that night she started hallucinating in her sleep - she thought people were chanting in the street outside, she saw cats running over our bed, insects and spiders on the walls, shadow people in the corner...it was terrifying. I thought she was going to be stuck that way. A few days later she was back to normal, realised what had happened. Ever since that bender she and I are completely sober, 1 year and 8 months in a few days. When she dropped to the ground I thought that she was dead, I knew it was an alcohol withdrawal seizure. She's SO lucky to be alive.

Sorry you had to go through that man. I had it from alcohol and phenibut (anti-anxiety med) withdrawal. I hadn't slept in about 10 days and had thousands of pictures and videos playing at the same time flying at my face every second. I thought I fried my brain. Hallucinations overplayed waking reality. It was hell. Literal hell. The only way I was able to make it through it was to taper off. Going cold turkey kills.
Good video. This shit is no joke.

How much phenibut were you taking? I had hallucinations after 2 week vodka benders but have managed to taper phenibut on its own pretty easily over a couple weeks after doing 3-5gpd for several months.
Always found phenibut better in terms of WD than alcohol but maybe it’s because my doses were lower?

I've had full blown Delerium Tremens a few times. It always results in demonic entities vying for soul. I've had it many times where there were dark spirits just surrounding me, waiting for me to die to so they could drag me to Hell.

  • @leeellis245

That's extremely similar to my experience. After 3 days off the booze after a long time of drinking every day, I felt this awful apprehension. I ended up seeing people walking round my house, and heard rhythmic chanting from "next door" saying I was in a particular room in the house. There were people outside in my mind, trying to get in, and I saw the doorknob being turned to open the door. I phoned the police, and they got the ambulance to get me the next day. In hospital I saw things that nobody should ever see, due to DTs. Never again.

Can relate to this. I have had DTs but I think they weren't as bad as yours and as prolonged but did have a visit to A&E. Yes agree they are dangerous and please seek professional help. I do not want to give false advice but another "home method" to deal with these (particularly shakes) is to gradually decrease alcohol intake. Please do not follow this advice and I urge you to seek medical help, but here it is:
    - get a 0.5 L of vodka and get someone close to you to monitor this and ask them to pour half-glass (~30 millilitres) of a shot every 1 hour. Very important you do this with breaks in between! The minute you feel an appetite, have something to eat - preferably not too heavy but with a bit of fat in it.
    - get some drink which has electrolytes in it. A great way is to use hydration tables - you can get them in pharmacy stores. Drink as much as you can and it's fine to frequently urinate.
    - this should at least relax you a bit and get you to sleep.
    - the next day do similar but decrease the dose in half - i.e. 15 millilitres every hour or hour and a half.
    - you can do so for 2/3 days, after which you should find courage to stop for the longer-term. After that ensure you get a multi-vitamin, eat healthy and exercise (start of light!)
Disclaimer: As mentioned please do not follow this advice if you feel severely unwell. This is only to help as las resort if you cannot get any professional medical care immediately. It might just save somebody.

LOL, funny I been through this shit 7 times in 2 years during this pandemic. At first it wasn't funny scary ass shit, but I have done a lot of research on Delirium Tremens since and now I am not scared anymore. The first few times I ran to the ER but once I new how to fix myself with lots of water, Vitamins and other supplements. I don't go to ER anymore. I do still party but only on special occasions but YES you are right scary shit until you learn to deal with it. I now go deep and confront the nightmares every time I go cold turkey once that passes things start to get better and after a week I start to sleep like a baby. Its just all chemical imbalances caused by binge drinking alcohol that needs to be normalized over time and Nutrition. For Me too the music, the laughter, whispers in my head, seeing shit and the hellish nightmares. Really evil shit just for a few weeks of fun. I been drinking for 30 years so it will be very hard to stop forever since I love to travel and party. I guess is something I need to deal with if I want to continue partying on my trips.

Its bad, its also deadly - there is a high fatality for people experiencing DT, not simply from an accident due to the psychosis, but seizures and cardiac arrest, stroke and respiratory failure. You must be medically supervised to keep you safe. Alchohol is the most dangerous drug to come off by far - no other drugs are fatal to come off (benzos perhaps) but heroin etc withdrawal is uncomfortable but not deadly
