From FB to EF-111 Raven, all the F-111 models were amazing aircraft. Was a maintainer on the F-111E at Raf Upper Heyford UK 1973-1977. It was an honor to serve the pilots, aircraft, the USAF, and my country.
I was stationed at RAF Fairford 89-91 I remember seeing the F-111 at Lakenheath and Heyford. We hitched a ride home from the desert with Cannon guys years later in 96. That was the loudest jet I ever heard lol. Now I live in Portsmouth and I drive around the base trying figure out what was where when base was open. Good memories from England
My first airshow when I was a kid was at Eglin Airforce base. First jet I watched was the F111, I was hooked on air shows after that. Only got to see it 1 time, such a beautiful aircraft, this and the F14, are my favorite. Swing wing babies are the best, I always wanted to watch the Tornado, never got that chance sadly.
My dad did the maintenance work on that very FB-111 in 1979 when he was with the 380th OMS at Plattsburgh in fact he changed out the Guillotine on that bird during the fleetwide upgrades in 1979.
My grandfathers (and other pilots obviously) plane in Vietnam and Korea. His call sign was doc. Flew that thing for years and retired as a major. Do you remember when they had them displayed on the giant supports like they were model planes and they sat the giant Santa on it at Christmas time?
My 1st love...the FB-111A...I worked them at Pease AFB NH 88-90 as an ECS troop, later Electro-Environmental. Rock&Roll!
My grandfather flew the fb111. Stationed in Plattsburgh. Flew Vietnam and Korea. The plane is on display in Plattsburgh now. Call sign doc.

Um.... he was referring to the airshow announcer... the announcer did say 4400 pounds
@@bradcolman7331 ah.ok
Yeah nice, but the Australians really exploited the F111 to its full potential, we really miss the pig down under!😭
>FB-111
>Tactical
Strategic Air Command is very unhappy with you.
I dont know why, but USAF F-111s just dont seem as impressive or interesting as RAAF ones
