Really? I just couldn't get that skateboard to move. But it was fun -- mainly the novelty of it was fun. And doing that and chatting with Max shifted my perception of skateboarders...
I live in The Netherlands, but I am from Mexico, in order to adapt to new context, we have to adapt identities, extensions. I love your channel, not only because of the content, regarding France, I love France, but also because I like you, you have an angel face
I love your content, so well executed, so enthralling. You really do convey back so many facets of your life and France. Brilliant stuff really. Hopefully RUclips's algorithm gives you that push some day
I love the thought in your videos. It's interesting that you felt that you were able to be unattached to places due to having fewer close friends there; I find that I bond a lot with the place emotionally, like the physical place, and things, and that makes it hard to leave, but perhaps that is a function of age, since I am twice as old as you!
That's interesting. On an aesthetic level I can truly *appreciate* a place. But - speaking for me -- the bonds to it are formed through the people there. I contest the idea that age puts an evolutive spin on that; I like to think it's the character we each have.
Thank you for sharing a little more about you. I’ve been watching French videos to prepare for a vacation to France this summer (I’m American). I love your production style and choice of music.
Hi again SR... so happy you found my little channel to get you ready for your France trip. You will absolutely love it. On music: what sort appeals the most?
I really enjoy watching your videos its sooo cinematic and engaging ...i love your creative personality and you also do a fabolous job with storytelling i think you should be a writer ❤
This clarifies a big part of my experience of culture shock moving to The States from Belgium. While there are innumerable cultures in the USA and we have a vast selection of community centers, places of worship, cuisine and other arts, the expression of those identities in day-to-day life is highly suppressed. It was extremely shocking to me. I love the way you presented this.
It really is interesting to see how different countries, different societies, handle ideas of identity. And also within a society. Making this video was pretty eye-opening for me too.... and a blast, having my first ride on a skateboard.
I enjoyed this. Your videos really do have flair ❤. I think one day they will just catch fire and you will have over 100 k subs. I live in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA which is the most diverse city in the US, but not nearly as picturesque as Belgium. I also love and play music. It is funny how core music is to life, not just for humans, but also for animals, maybe even plants. My sister once had a very aloof cat that heard me playing guitar, after that, NOTHING I could do could make that cat dislike me. I bet you could make a killer video on how all of nature reacts to music.
Hey Wayne, that's very cool what you're saying, I appreciate it. Will I get to 10K subs (let alone 100K)?... I think for that I'd need to find more time to do more videos. I enjoy them so much, but the last year has been so hectic for me outside of RUclips. Maybe if you and others keep enjoying them, I can climb up a little bit in YT rankings. And yes, music -- so important. I think your idea is great, and I'll see if I can incorporate that in a future video.
Loved the video! New ID for a world traveller. Guess you got fresh new papers, but your vibrant and curious core does not change. Have a happy upcoming summer hollidays!
... or multiple IDs for world travelers! I did get my card, yes (but that was really just an entrée into my meandering video thinking about identity generally).
@@amusingaida Can hardly wait to see more of your travelling and its considerations (some of them quite philosofical sometimes) about it. It is inspiring👏😊
Thanks! Yup, enjoying trying new things, always! My vape? I don't like candy flavors or anything like that. Mostly a tasteless type of flavor that just works for me, as bad as the habit might be. Sometimes pomegranate though...
Aw...picturesque, interesting, telling...tad sad. Love the independence but independence lacks attachment sometimes. I respect the EU commitment to cohesion...England missed the boat...in my opinion. 🖐 from Wisconsin 🍻 and I truly wish you well.
you obviously watched the video closely to notice that... but also I hope you understand that I'm trying to say that you just have to be congnizant of your the effects of your choices (and sometimes the causes of them)...
@amusingaida well said..and having just turned 78, I can attest you will live with them a very time. Choose wisely....from someone who on occasion di not.
As a Belgian, it's weird to hear a French say belgium has a history, a lot of french people i've talked with say Belgium doesn't have a history. They think it all started 1830 and fail to realize that with this way of thinking, France only exists since 1789. Belgium's history is extremely rich.
I'd say Belgium has its history that goes back before breaking from the Netherlands - as much of Europe did in fact, given the rule of city-states before nations were forged.
The Belgian history created such problems for the world history that it would better not existed as an independent state at all! The both world wars wouldn't have happened were it not for the stubborn policy of this pseudo-neutral pseudo-state!
I think your identity is making interesting films… like this one. And that’s actually good skateboarding for your first 30 minutes!

Another interesting vid Aida, thought provoking stuff. I am a cinephile too, French new wave anyone?
French New Wave, yes! That loose camera, meta-type approach is the origin of what we find on RUclips these days!
