LOVE==IT==LOVE=IT== I AM 84 NOW DROVE SOME OF THESE ON THE FARM==IN MASS==
Beautiful! They don’t make ‘‘em like that anymore. Such character!
channel so much better with new mechanic interaction makes it so much better
Well, nobody could ever accuse that thing of being pretty, but those mechanics are a joy to watch. Great work, guys.
Joe a true old school mechanic Very nice truck
I love the art deco lines on the doors. those would be 2 great tiny home projects...
Dad used to tell me stories of driving trucks like this for his grandpa before he went into the Army in WWII
Glad your saving these old trucks and trucks they are Rolling Art ! And even better your making a little money at it to boot . Thanks for including us in the adventure !Good Luck my Friend .
Most sadly went to the crusher....
Fantastic guys, nice to see an actual mechanic, rather than a fitter.
Really love the cab over trucks that's what we have here mainly in Britain, with few exceptions.
Keep up the good work.😁
Man! I would love that green three window coupe in the background at 2:25!
love to see the old ones brought back.thank you.
I just love seeing these old relics brought back to life - wondering about what the world was like when they were out there working. Was the driver a WW2 vet getting back to normal life? Was it used for hauling or logging? What did the country look like back then? How many stops were made for strong coffee and apple pie? It’s just so cool these things were built to last forever!
Respect to your mechanic the knowledge he has for this engine is outstanding! Very rare these days
You betcha!!! 👍👍
The Saint Paul hoist was the best hoist in its day, I had one and it never gave me any trouble.
Love seeing those old trucks which were still running around when I was a kid. I had an F 3 back in the late 60s and no other v8 has that sound like a flathead
Great Shop!!! Great Old Iron.... there's always gonna be turn over with staff...
I AM PLEASED TO A ELDER MECHANIC TO WORK ON THAT TRUCK HE KNOWS IT FROM YEARS GONE BY, MY SELF I AM 81 YEARS OLD AND FORCEDTO RETIRE.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK .
That truck is killer
Keep savin em guys!Well done
Beautiful machine. I love the mechanic, his steady no fuss masterly way. I bet he could pick a jury from a group of thirty in ten seconds flat.
17:10 you deserve a cold one !
Just placing a car starter is a muscle cramp .
Nice shop .
After watching your walk around video of the vancleet (at the abandoned munitions site) collection I’ve subscribed.to your channel
Got it running ! Great mechanic ! I enjoyed watching…. great video
Think you're going to corner the market on 1940's Ford COE trucks...ya know, if you can get them, try a 8 Volt battery..
I like the old 40s and 50s trucks keep it up guys nice
That is awesome
Very cool project!!!!!!! 👍🙂
Awesome work
There was one next door to my old shop for years, love the Blackhawk S4 jack too.
Like barn wood builders only with old trucks, great show
Amazing another great video

Nice trucks that thing sounds good what a cool truck
That my friends is an awesome piece of Americana and a future badass build!
The truck has been brought back from the dead!! WOW!!
Nice Blackhawk jack. I have the same one and used it just yesterday! I restored mine a few years ago. I got in contact with Blackhawk and they still had the glass lens for the light in stock!
Sounds good
Imagine driving one of those trucks back in the day it would have been a lot of fun I think it would have been badass they're badass anyway look at them those are just a cool looking old truck🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲💯♥️👍👌
Wow Motor Original v8 239 Flathead is Beautiful
Joe is GOLD 👍👍👍👍
Having the Flathead V8 right beside the driver's seat is reminiscent of the CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) trucks like the one I have
Why not start with an oil drain first? There is sure to be much water which condensed from the air in the crankcase. You could fill it with oil drained from another cars routineoil change or get some inexpensive recycled or other oil. Also pull the oil pan to see the condition of the bores, pistons so you don't do more damage to the bores. Pull the head too.
Crank holes are probably clogged with 50 year old oil
Powerful ✊✨
Nice truck and really actually very clean all considering a great platform for a lot of ideas me personally I would keep the flat head in there and would put a camper cab with a little bit of a flatbed for either a four-wheeler or golf cart
Yup this would be so fun to do anything with. I hate to sound like a skipping record but the patina on the cab is to die for. It looks like a tarnished copper kettle
love the big trucks i have a 1956 ford 550
a really good project, you see that steel in good shape... buy it and make it a survivor ...
Awesome video
Marvel's Mystery Oil and let it "set in" to loosen thing's. Give you a day or two (if needed) to get other things done.
Good.jop 😃😃👍👍👏👏👏
what a find
Worth saving and driving
Truck is wearing the dreaded Widow Maker rims. Most dangerous wheel ever designed.
And no wheel cage in sight....
I always knew them as a clamshell rim..?but your nickname for them are better
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why are they dangerous?
@@auzmo you dont stand in front them when air them they will cut you in half if dont kill you first
Love it ! extra low gears for hauling ton of stuff...
You got that right!
I/we fully restored one of those into a car-carrier. 1970 460 Lincoln engine with C6 A/T.
Once you guys get her started, all she needs is a seat and a paint job and you’ll have a clean old truck!! 👍👍
I see it's got a later 8ba or maybe an 8cm Merc. Often in those days they would opt for the 256 Merc if they were putting in a later model re man motor. Nice truck.
I like your truck
Wish I lived near a shop to help out. Got a lot of knowledge about them, but no garage anymore.
I live and breathe Chevrolet but dang that's a good looking truck and I might....probably would make and exception for this one
Awesome I recently saw the same model it was a 41 and it was a very rare 3 door crew cab although sadly it looked beyond saving, but this old girl looks like she has a few fights left in her
That’s our truck too haha, I pulled it out of Iowa look at the video on our page here
Where’s Bill @ bro? I mean I like senior citizens but c’mon man bring BILL BACK HOMEBOY U STR8 TRIPPIN’
He quit
Oh ok I guess I’ll get used to the old guy ‘seems pretty cool tho’
love those old coe trucks just hard to believe that those old flatheads could even move those trucks. my uncle used to drive one of those trucks hauling dynamite from Minneapolis to Chicago on a weekly basis. He said it wasn't Bad until one caught firei in Wisconsin, said the rear brakes overheated and blew it sky high. that was his last day hauling dynamite.
Man I want that job!
Phew! What a story!
The local auto parts store never sold so many 6 volt batteries.
Sold my 47 COE a couple years back . It had a flat head Merc engine. The guy who bought it bought it for the engine , he parted the truck out. The next guy bought the cab . In had it for over 20 years stored inside.
That bad of people to do that to nice old car and trucks 😢
WOW‼️. ✋😂🤚
To free up tight pistons and sticky clutches, you can put the truck in reverse gear with the ignition off and tow it gently backwards. The low ratio is kind enough but torquey enough to push anything not completely seized into submission. Just watch for dropped valves or loose connector rods.
No you cant do this if the brakes are seized or rusted solid. Its best just to pull the clutch and heads, let Marvel's Mystery Oil do its stuff for a few dats (if needed) and get other work done while it works it way in, to loosen things.
@@richardburtonjr1889 a far more civilised approach, but if caught with limited time, the above works.
Good 👍🏻 job
Thank you! Cheers!
saludo desde venezuela
Flathead Fords had the best valves, real steel seats, super high quality, 299K with nary a valve job was not uncommon, some lots longer than that.
all is good forget the music
That truck would be a nice rollback to haul a classic car on.
Kerosene is what my granddad poured in each sparkplug hole to un freeze a motor
Man watching the older man, I think about how hard it is for me at 83 years to get down under my 1951 Studebaker Truck to do work and my 1901 Oldsmobile. But you can no longer hire anyone who knows how to be a real mechanic anymore. It is sad, how advancements have made more and more mreally ignorant of Common sens,
Jeepers, Creepers. Where'd you get those peepers. "Ford Style"
I wonder if before reinstalling the starter Should he have tested it with a battery
Make it into a wheel standing truck like stubby. Should go right up, not like it's heavy or made of thick steel. LOL
That's a cool F truck
Takiego bym kupił!!!
where's wild Bill.
He quit
@@Ironcitygarage he looked like he was always having so much fun 😐... keep up the great vids.
Ratel.
Эй, а почему бросили оригинальную грузовую платформу?
you need a length of pump line for the muffler to run outside
Why didn't you keep the dualies?
That's looks close to the Mack COE E-HUT
I love your channel. My wife, not so much.
This truck in looking slippers grippers movie 🤔
I don't think I would keep the flattie. They just didn't have enough power. They were great back in the day, but now their a bit weak.
What's going on with the cab over with no rear tires or wheels
The young men let the oldie creeping under the truck doing the hard work, while they are sitting in the varm office drinking coffee and smoking cigars!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER GUY THAT DID MOST OF THE WORK ON PREPPING AND GETTING THE UNITS RUNNING AND ROLLING / DID HE GET THE TWO AND THE BLUE OR ?
I just realized what Coe stands for it means cab over engine
How can they still be around?
It’s the creeper truck
Jeepers Creepers...
aht haus company - you know the accent
The uglyness of the truck is in fact the beauty of this truck in my opinion
💩. Coyote. 1ton dually axles 20" wheels and mud tires. Daily driver 🤔🤔🤔👍👍👍👍 love a good resto-mod
Phu hoi lai va son no se dep
Fan was not rotating. Probably generator or water pump seized.
The motor is not org, it's a 49-53 motor. It's a better motor
Why not used diesel engine sir.. this model year??
6volt!
I’m surprised that thing didn’t have a crank start
Hey could you explain the compression test?
Do you plug the hole then let off to see if she shoots out of the spark plug hole?
23:28 hell yeah!
And that trick of putting some weasel piss down the fuel line then air is great!
29:00
joe you’re the man!
