- Levers are a type of simple machine that allows you to multiply your work. In this video, I illustrate a 1st class lever, a 2nd class lever, and a third-class lever.
The type of lever depends on the location of the effort, fulcrum, and load.
I also go over an easy method you can use to help memorize the types of levers.

John Danaher talks about the fulcrum in his teachings and I wanted to get a better sense of where these terms were coming from.
Next I'll be exploring the concepts of wedges, I'm in a weird RUclips hole to help with my BJJ training.

Worth noting that the hockey stick is much more complex when it comes to shooting than just a 3rd class lever system.
When shooting you are actually pulling with your top hand while with your lower hand pushing away and pressing down. So both the top hand and bottom hand are supplying force. On top of that there is stick flexion that creates like a spring force contributing to the lever system
I don’t get it what is effort??
The hammer is under the 1st class
What does fulcrum mean
