The scene between Homelander and Butcher was extraordinary acting. An insane range of emotions displayed in a scene that wasn’t even 3 minutes long.

@Tony Soprano first of all, all supes in the 7 have tracking chips. Maeve has been in the 7 the longest (along with black noir and homelander), she probably knows how to track other supes. Also, it was clear from the scene at the tower that Maeve followed stormfront from the tower after the nazi reveal
icing on the cake is that stormfront got curb-stomped by a white lady, a lesbian, and person of color. That's beautiful and perfect, it's literally her worst nightmare lul

Did you guys see when edgar was with the church leader and they were bringin the frescas how a small breeze of air lifts the napkins a little bit and then you can see the door in the back being closed slowly? That was A-train sneaking in to hear the conversation as you can see him come from the door that closed, man the attention to detail (english is not my main, so srry if i wrote anything wrong hehe)

@@DosCavazos If you look back at ep. 7, when the heads started exploding there is a micro expression on Victoria Neuman's face right before Mallory helps her to her feet, where Neuman goes from "horrified" to "normal", it just happens like in a second but I thought it was curious to point that out. It wouldn't be noticeable without knowing the season finale though

and now when you rewatch the court scene in episode 7, you can see Victoria looking directly at each person that got their heads blown
if you rewatch the hearing part of previous episode, you'll realize wherever she stared the people head explodes

So its Vought (not surprising) behind the headpopping attack, but its mindblowing (no pun intended) that Neuman works for Vought and is probably Edgar's top supe.

Homelander's interactions with his son are the most humanizing parts of his character. From what they've shown he's not a bad father, and honestly pretty understanding and supportive. You can tell he empathizes with Ryan because he went through what Ryan is going through and legit wants to be there to guide and support him. One of many aspects of this show's writing that is just brilliant.

Homelander wants Ryan’s love most of all because he has to earn it not like everyone else go will love him just for his powers

She's basically totally out of it and has some sort of "life flashing before her eyes" experience. The German's kind of wonky though. Well, the actress isn't German so we get that a lot :D

@@shabanoozytv8265 Hehe, even "bad" German is German. Just listen to some of our local dialects. The actress, Aya Cash, doesn't know German, I guess. So she had to speak some lines which didn't make any sense to her, while trying to match someone's intonation and pronunciation... while trying to sound exhausted, delirious and close to dying... while also wearing some heavy makeup which might've been restricting her face. Dunno, I think she may be excused for not speaking perfect High German :)

Misha HJ I think Homelander just wasn’t a fan of what Stormfront was telling Ryan because regular kids aren’t taught to be racist. I don’t think Homelander cares that Stormfront is racist, but he doesn’t want Ryan to feel insecure whenever he’s around a minority. I also think he just found it weird that she’s trying to teach him about “white genocide”
@@obi3924 I disagree because he could have stopped her and he didn't. He's a smart guy and sure, he can be manipulated until a point and that point is not high, he stops any manipulation quick enough when he doesn't feel like he's getting something out of it.
He literally doesn't care about that superior white race bs because to him it doesn't make sense, every human is under him anyway. Ryan is an extension of himself, and while I do think he loves the kid (narcissistic parents love their kids but never like they love themselves) he won't hesitate to try to mold him after himself but with a better upbringing than a damn laboratory.

Just from Homelander’s actions it actually seemed that he was trying to raise his son right...he took him out of an environment that stressed him out and comforted him about having someone to teach him to use his abilities, something that he never had...I don’t think Homelander actually wants his son to be anything like him when it comes to his personality or morals.

Yes he is kind to his son. But eventually he will raise him to be like him. A dickhead who pretends he loves people but only cares for himself. And he looks down on all non-supes too. Those are the traits he will pass to Ryan. Its a metaphor for mafia bosses raising their sons to go to college and have it all but never taught them the values of honest and legal job and teaches them the drug trade to takeover as the new mafia bosses.
Can't believe im saying this but i kinda felt bad for Homelander. While watching this episode i can see that he really does want to be a good father he just didn't know how to act like one. Stormfront was able to help him a bit on how to do it but at the same time she's teaching the kid the wrong things.

I just realized Homelander came because he heard butcher Crying for help, I genuinely felt bad for him, Dude looked like he really cared about Ryan, Even when Ryan got shy on public, Homelander immediately flew him away and drank milk and watched the news with him. Pretty chill besides the phycopathic tendencies

The way Homelander calls his kid a "little shit" when talking to Butcher reveals his true feelings about him I think.
I think he was just upset that his son chooses Butcher over him. But he still loves him.
I think not only was he angry about Ryan choosing Butcher he was also trying to upset Butcher to not protect him because her son just killed the love of his life. We already know Butcher hates Supes he called him a Supe Freak when Becca didn’t want to leave. Homelander was just trying to stir the pot. You could see how hurt he was when they went past him
Homelander’s a fricking asshole he doesn’t deserve any family,
If there were cameras in the room of the Seven they probably didn't survive Annie blasting Noir, or got wrecked when Noir threw her around. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there hadn't been any in the first place. I doubt Homelander would be all that pleased with being surveiled. Then there was also the bugging from the first season.
As I understand it that FRESCO sect used to exclusively for the kind of people Stormfront favours, but once the current (or I guess now former) leader's grandfather died, his successor opened the church up to everyone, regardless or skincolour or previous religion and that caused her to quit them.
If I had been one of the Vought troopers that Homelander ended up killing, I'd have made up a story about Butcher taking a boy hostage and them being sent in to free him instead of staying quiet.
I'm surprised Starlight's power wasn't more effective against Stormfront. Her whole thing is absorbing electricity and turning it into her own power, so she should be basically immune to Stormfront's lightning. In fact she should be empowered by having lightning shot at her, rather than hurt.
If I had been Butcher, I'd have picked up the knife Becca dropped and plunged it into Stormfront's remaining eye instead of hitting her on the back with the crowbar... or used one of the semi-sharp ends of the crowbar in the same way.
Kudos to the show-makers and Anthony Starr. They actually made me feel sorry for Homelander. I mean I still hate him, but also feel sorry for him... I didn't see that coming.
I wonder if Cindy is related to Neuman.
Then again Kimiko and her brother had completely different powers after their respective V infusions, so maybe it's just chance that Neuman and Cindy's powers look and work somewhat similar.
Maybe Cindy was specifically "designed" to have similar powers to act as a smokescreen for Neuman.
In the comics Stormfront was beaten to death by Butcher (UK), Frenchy (France), MM (USA) and Love Sausage (RUS) for a re-enactment of WW2.
HL the most powerful supe but his weakness is a video.
This epesode was a masterpiece. Antony Stars acting is generally amazing. Wow.
Homelander used to be like Ryan it's why homelander doesn't want him to grow up like him in captive he really loves him

Also, Homelander said something about stormfront being taken to a classified location, so i doubt she is dead, just a limbless body without an eye and it was established that she doesn't age, so yeah, she is immortal in that state.
Also, the scene of Homelander doing "that" is...sad and pretty messed up, he basically lost control of everything, the seven, his son, his girlfriend, so he is actually trying to reaffirm that he's still able to do anything he wants even if we know that Vough controls him

The scene where Stormfront gets her ass kicked by Maeve, Starlight, and Kimiko reminds me of the ending of Death Proof where Kurt Russell gets his ass kicked to death by three women. Both satisfying scenes to watch.
The scene when Becca dies got me really scared because I really thought Butcher was going to make the bad decision and resent Ryan for what he did, but he completely surprised me and did the right thing by standing up to Homelander knowing he doesn't have a single chance against him. All because he made a promise to Becca.

She has the ability to blow people's heads up but only when in her line of sight. If you watch her eye movements in the courthouse each direction she looks a person dies.

I knew something was up with Victoria. In the comics, her character is known as “Vic the Veep”. The Vice President and a loyal Vaught man. He’s also “the most grotesque parody of Bush I could think of,” according to the original writer.

So out of every possibility I have to give The Boys huge credit, I would have never once guessed that the Senator of all fucking people was the one detonating skulls.
Also Maeve, Kimiko and Annie tag team beating the monkeyfuck out of Stormfront was probably one of the most viscerally satisfying moments in this entire series.
I've seen some other great reactions but yours is my favorite. I was legit shocked by the end and who the head-explodey person was. Did not guess that but as soon as it was revealed, it seemed almost obvious. I for sure thought it was the Church. Such a good show. Looking forward to Bly Manor! :)

I like a lot of people just loved Stormfront at first, and hyped her up, then it showed out they where rooting for a nazi.
Later it was Neuman, some even thought she was a insert for some american politician (the character is in the comics too though, just gender swapped). Turns out she is a crazy killer too.
The rule of the game is every one is a c*nt, if you look deep down. They all have serious fails and damage people around them, either by accident (like the kid), or for their own interest.
Also why that is the thing Butcher tells the kid to remember "Don't be a c*nt"
the point of this show is "just dont blindly trust anyone or any sides". simple as that

Good episode to end the season. I'm not sure Stormfront is dead as she is signed for Season 3. I think she will reappear in the later seasons, especially if the show remains quite true to the comics, from which it has preserved the essential features. On a slightly different note, this show introduced my to Aya Cash, who is quite impressive in "You're the Worst"; a more full-fledged rom-com type show, a genre which I though I would never watch, but after a couple episodes got me hooked. It's a shame that she's catching a lot of social media flak over her role in the Boys but she seems like a nice person and genuinely quite talented.

Ah man I liked the Church of Collective guy, he was a great character. I wish we would have seen more of him. I think she should just have had the Fresca explode instead. lol

Even though the fly didn't come up this season, it was 100% intentionally placed in season one. You can actually hear it each time it goes by, which is not something the mic would pick up unless it were much closer. Not to mention it would be edited out in post production, or they would just use a different take. It could maybe slip by during one scene, but not multiple scenes over multiple episodes
