Sadly neither his car nor the red Montego are still running in 2022. I checked on the government website. It even has the Montego as a Rover, not a British Leyland. What is Britain coming to ?

It *is* nice latticework on the windows. The lattice on Ken's window is conspicuous by its absence! Between that and the high conifers, I hope John had a quick word with him.
This should have been invested in to have been on the telly. I love his work, his vision, his warm comedy. I also appreciate the whole home made style and study on seemingly insignificant things. Its comforting! They missed out big time with John Shuttleworth and probably misunderstood an entire audience. That North South divide or just short sightedness?

Must be American, as only the British will understand the fun in celebrating the underdog. The beauty in the small details, being understated , and good old fashioned self depreciation . And of course, the wonderful austin ambassador in hearing aid brown .

This might prove controversial ... I admit I don't know what the Ambassador's handling was like so can't compare them overall.... but I always preferred the look of the Austin Princess to the Ambassador.
I believe they were basically the same car, but the Ambassador was intended to fill an apparently non-existent demand for a hatchback version. The motoring press at the time described it as ‘the Princess you can enter from the rear’.
Shuttleworth is certainly one of the most under estimated singer song writers of his generation ☺️
And very versatile.
He certainly equals ACDC and Joy Division. A pure talent.
My love for all things J.S will never fade. I can see him now at the reservoir checking for the change in level as our dry spell has ended.
