Sounds like a guy who had skills and limited capital or resources, mindsets which came out of the depression and times of shortages. Great sayings. Things we need to hear today in a disposable world.
Great job Patrick! You remind me of my BIL. In the 40plus years I have known him he has rarely had to pay somebody else to work on anything he owns. He is the man I call on when I need advice or help. I have gotten so much good info from Heidi and You over the years I have watched your channel. Thanks for another good video. Phil
I really enjoyed watching the take down and repair.. Especially when you showed how to use different methods on getting the project accomplished.. My hands aren't strong(no grip) It gives me hope to work on my little tractor, which needs hoses replaced, etc.
Thanks Tim. Now flipping the cutting edge. Had to cut off half the bolts and cut a "window" in a couple plates someone welded to the bottom of the blade in order to remove two of the bolts for the corner cutting edges. Just finished with all the linkage (boring and making bushings) for the blade functions. Had 6" of slop before engaging the valve cluster. Will install that stuff today.
Mike watched this one close, he used to do communications, buoy systems and antennas for submarines. He would have liked to be there for this video! 😊 Too bad we are at the opposite sides of the country. He almost made it to the sub base up there but he had the heart attack the day before he was supposed to leave. Once again, nice job Patrick. Many Blessings!
Great job, Patrick . If you reach for your loctite and it is empty, something such as lighter fluid will get you through until next time . I'm not a smoker but had a brother that usually had a can here or there . Also, loosen up both hydraulic lines so you will have an ease of teardown.
I know one of the recent owners was a mechanic who showed this old dozer some love. It fires right up. I'm flipping the cutter over now which was fun. Had to cut off half the bolts but have new ones in. Also re worked, bored out parts and built bushings for the blade controls. Probably put those in this week to tighten up those controls. Neat little dozer.

He is still doing more work on it. We have another video coming out in a couple weeks of another project on this dozer and two more in the works :)

He must have been headed for Bremerton. I was in electronics in the Army. I like tinkering on this stuff, it keeps the mind busy.
