Yes, you are right, it could be made a bit simpler, but you cant beat the satisfaction of a completed DIY project :) Good luck on your project!

good job my friend ! but it seemes an enormous amount of work and a substantial investment. despite all that the final product doesnt look finished. and if the bearings are gonna rust seemes like ur gona take it all apart! okay ! overall respect for ur work and enjoy and have fun

Since your build is 2/3 the cost of their model, I don't see an advantage other than you got the satisfaction of making it yourself. I want to do a quick build, but plan to use a PVC spar as the base for each wing, fold over some sheet polypropylene and fix it to the spar and along the trailing edge with pop-rivets in a neutral airfoil. Then use another piece of PVC as the connecting spar with an OD slightly smaller than the wing PVC's ID. Fast dirty waterproof and cheap. Engineering 101.

DaringSaturns - the cost is between 200 - 300$ each, depending on what you have beforehand. I have tried it many times now and it is great fun. Just rinse off the ball bearings with freshwater and spray with silicone spray :)

Hello! The bolt is 20 mm. Stainless steel, and the bearings is of course 20 mm in diameter also. It will post videos this summer, no way im getting in the water with that thing now. I learned a lot from other youtubers regarding the fibreglass.

how thick is the bolt in the middle, what are the dimentions, and if you have time is it possible you could do a review of some saught saying how well it works, how you did the fibreglass, thanks a lot.

Great video. I'm wondering why you added the eyebolts after you epoxied the whole thing though. Don't they leak? Did I miss a step?

arnaud plongee i dont have the dimentions or plans, i just made it on the go, tried to figure out what would be a natural shape\curve. Bigger the wings, the less you have to work to manipulate the steering. Good luck!
