Wow. Great video! I remember going there when it first opened. Nothing there but the airport. Mobile lounges were really unique. Qatar A350 made smooth landing and slowed up fast!
Since I live near Dulles, I will tell you that you honestly have to go there at the right time, because there are some serious lulls in action at certain times of day lol
@@JustinLHopkins Same here at Amsterdam Schiphol. This year’s number of flight movements will be equal to that of 1992 (about 220.000). Last year was close to 500.000. Some parts of the day are just so quiet now.
Awesome video and amazing compilation of airplanes @ Dulles airport......I am liking your contents and I am excited to see your videos....Merry Christmas ⛄⛄⛄⛄....Raven spotting was also awesome 😘😘😘😘
@Aviation LAX I can vouch for that, the two garages and the museum are the only decent spots. Wish they'd re-open the old viewing deck at the terminal.
I do like the airport, but I do agree with the spotting. I filmed the final Delta MD-88 departure which departed runway 30. That is possibly the single worst runway in the history of plane spotting to get a good view of lol
@@LeppAviation Pretty much, there really isn't a good spot which sucks. Since traffic has increased at dulles, especially during the evening, the smaller jets departing to the west use 30, haven't been able to find a good spot unfortunately :(
Great shots, my friend! You were lucky to catch a variety of passenger planes. At my airport, Dallas Fort Worth Airport, it’s much harder to do so even with a nice plane spotting park, due to the ATC rarely directing the bigger planes near the park.
the raven told you where he is going *lol* sounds a little belch but he told you *lol* .... by the way stunning video, looks like a bitterly cold day :-)
I live near IAD and my wife works there for AF/KL. I see you were on the parking deck! It you come in the afternoons at the right time (United bank and Euro arrivals) it gets quite busy but this year traffic is definitely off!
Nice, I was filming 1 day before you, but at garage 1 overlooking 19L. International heavies are down by a good 70% or so, just a few daily ones now, but primarily United regional jets. Even Emirates isn't daily anymore!
I live in Baltimore and BWI has a great location to watch planes landing/taking off. But it's mostly just Southwest 737s. Where can I go near Dulles to get a good view?
Forgive my ignorance, but it doesn't seem like the flaps on the wing deploy much to slow the aircraft down; it seems to be the engine reverse thrusters (again, sorry) that do the heavy work. It's been a minute since I've flown, but I seem to remember all sorts of flaps and wing parts sliding into position as the plane landed. Maybe it's the perspective of seeing it from the ground.
Dulles does have some lulls in traffic but they have a wide range of aircraft that takeoff and and there. I mean look at this video a350 to 787 to a330 to 737
There are some applications which are available on the App Store/Play Store, one of my favorite is FlightRadar 24, you can use it to get information about any aircraft, although for some info, you have to take a premium subscription.
Seems to be the theme with widebodies during these times. Airlines aren't sending nearly as many overseas, so they're utilizing them on higher demand routes.

oh my god 8th grade is coming back to me

It’s more than a lull. Covid19 has turned many of the worlds busiest airports into ghost towns.

How many minutes away from Dulles do you live in?
The KLM A330 is absolutely gorgeous - even more so against the darker sky. Thanks for uploading!
Really nice compilation mate, beautiful the Qatar A350!

Very cool video mate, and cool raven, I like birds
Sometimes spotting at Dulles is nice, other times it’s, UNITED, UNITED, UNITED, UNITED, UNITED, UNITED, UNITED, UNITED, I think you get the point.
same with Atlanta and DFW (but Delta and American respectively instead of United)
it's the same with DCA sometimes where it's all either american eagle or american
Beautiful planesspoting 🤩✈️🤩👌🏻 .

Terrific catches! Aer Lingus won't return service to Dulles till May 2021.
Great Video as always Lepp Aviation👍👍👏. Have a great Merry Christmas🎄🎁
You as well, Josh!!
The 787 is my favorite… Airbus is nice and all but I’m a huge Boeing fan

Well done and merry christmas

I’m going soon, and I’m headed to parking garage 2, a friend who goes often says it’s a good spot to catch all of the runways
Amazing video! One question: How busy is Dulles ie. how many planes landed per hour when you were there?
Happy planes new year
Great early christmas present!
Nice video! Was wonder what area of the airport did you take this?
Awesome....👍👍👍

The spoilers break the lift after touchdown, but don’t reduce speed much, the reverse thrust does it combine with braking systems..
@@flygwada971 that’s correct, the brakes still do the hard job, it’s like 70 brakes and 30 reverse
Love A350
Too think I waste my time traveling and fishing and I could be doing this, boy am I missing out on life
That raven shot🤣🤣
Raven Air, ...destination unknown lol!
Lindo vídeo 👏
Any suggestions for the best locations near Dulles for landing/takeoff spotting from an elevated spot without paying for parking?

where you on the parking garage #2 for spotting??

How can you tell the age of plane and where did it come from ? Just wondering...

A lot of 787's though.
Those thrust reversers are *loud.*
Awesome, I thought Avianca went belly up.
Just landed there like a month ago coming from Tampa but it was not butter
What garage did you shoot this from?
Garage 2
Is garage 2 hard to get into? Can you see a lot in afternoons from this garage or only mornings?
