Shannon, I am soo impressed on how you were able to speak in detail about your mom and your conversations together. It takes significant strength and courage to do that. Not something I can do yet. Nice job and my condolences.

Shannon I'm sorry for your loss, and I appreciate that you're able to keep the memory of your mother alive. Thank you for sharing... and making Marc and Matt feel uncomfortable.

Shannon, I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing and I am going to go back to your old Tansu box build. I may need to do something similar

My deepest sympathies for your loss Shannon.
If understand correctly, Marc's advice on HoA is: "better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission." I live it every day. Though my advice would be don't move into an HoA to begin with.
Also...nobody likes a flat bottom...I prefer a round thing in my face.
Lastly, I believe it was Nick Engler here on YT who did a review video of the Rali planes. It's been a while but he seemed to think they weren't awful. Worth a watch before shelling out cash for one.
    Thanks for coming back fellas.

Magnetic reed switches on the door rated for the correct voltage make interior cabinet lighting very simple. With a couple relays you can make it controllable from multiple locations. I'm in the middle of doing drawer and cabinet lighting on my kitchen.

I definitely agree that Nick Offerman is the lead for the movie. Tim Allen has to star opposite him with cameos from Norm Abram, Bob Villa, and Tom Silva.

My dad was buried in a box of his own design and building; it was locking, without hinges or any discernible mechanisms. A piece of trim in the center of one side spun an internal locking mechanism that would lift the lid when rotated one direction, and secure the lid with a J hook style latch in the other. Think of a circular saw blade with a triangle on one side and a j hook on the other attached to a dowel pin as a fulcrum, to trim to be hidden.
My grandpa kept his shaving supplies in it for most of my life, and my dad told him to keep whatever he wanted in it. I polished it up the night before he was buried until it glowed and attached the lid with two wire brads.

Sorry for your loss friend. Praying for you and your family. I have built a couple caskets and many urns for friends. The build have been very healing for me. I have always used the bottom as the way to get in. Bless you.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. Shannon.I know it's a tough time, the great memories have helped me get through the loss of my Mom and I wish you the same. Mom's are simply the best! ❤
Hey guys the show has a real different vibe in a SUPER COOL way! All of you seemed so relaxed I thought I was watching 3 different Dudes as Marc would say. I hope Wood Talk stays around for many more years.
Thank you so much for your knowledge and time.

Rex Krueger did a review of that disposable blade hand plane and said it worked totally fine and in some ways easier to use than a traditional hand plane in some respects, but wouldn't recommend it because he thinks using a normal hand plane isn't that hard and sharpening isn't hard to learn especially with the multitude of guides available. You'll save on not buying sharpening equipment now, but you'll spend more than that in the long run in replacement blades.

Rex Krueger did a review of the disposable-blade plane----it was a good video----his upshot was he really liked everything about it except that he could sharpen sharper than their blades.

My HOA just amended bylaws indicating that you cannot "run a business" out of your garage due to increased traffic or noise. Not a big deal for me as my garage woodworking is a hobby for me and not a business.
But I do obey the 10:00 quite rules, which for me are city-wide.

Rali planes are made in Switzerland and are not meant for fine woodworking. They are mostly used on constrution sites and can be used on timber, plywood, MDF, corian, drywall and with the hardened steel blades even on aluminium. So basically everything you do not want to use your nice Lie Nielsen for.

I have one of those flush trim bits as I needed to flush trim 2" black ash. It worked great but in a hand held route it will make you butt pucker!!!!!! I do have a video using it on my Instagram page.

Read the HOA agreement VERY closely before you buy! This guy is probably out of luck because I would bet almost any HOA has rules against running a business from the property. Maybe he can get away with it if he's quiet, but all it takes is having a large truck or delivery of materials will likely tip off some nosey neighbor who will make it their life's work to shut you down. HOAs seems to be loaded with people that have no purpose in life other than to screw with their neighbors.
