Her struggle is why she's my best girl in Niji. I'm not autistic. I have ADHD and bad memory, and, as a child and even now im my early 20's it was difficult for me to connect with people not just because of my interests, but also because of my ADHD. Just like Rina, I found a group of people who treat me with kindness and respect, but it was a long road to get there. Rina's episode in the Niji anime is my favorite and her song Tsunagaru Connect is stuck in my head forever. I used to be just like her before she had the Rina-chan Board and now I want one for myself. It's such a cool idea!

Absolutely loved this ^^ related hard to the beginning, sorry you had to go through that >_< if you ever did make another video on the interpretation with Maki though I genuinely would be interested in seeing it ^^ also incredibly sorry you had to go through being made to feel like any part of you was wrong. The education system is very good at doing that and it’s a horrible thing no one should ever have to endure, I’m glad you’ve found more confidence and love in yourself ❤
Really liked and agree with the discussion at the beginning about media literacy and interpretations, there’s never an objectively “correct” reading of something and that’s very much something that gets ignored a lot on the internet and it sucks. Especially since it’s a big part of what makes art so special. I wanted to work it into my remade Rin video and it was in the script at one point but I cut it for flow but I remember a couple years ago some of the staff members from My Life as a Teenage Robot responded to some online stuff reading the main character as trans/a trans metaphor and they said it was never a connection they intentionally ever made while writing but they fully support the reading and are happy that something they made helped people feel seen/means something to them, and like that really stuck with me lol ^^
On that note, really loved hearing your story about how you connect with Rina and your look at why people do, especially the overall thesis of her symbolizing being yourself and doing things in your own way which I hadn’t ever fully thought about myself but, god it fits and it’s sweet ^^ whether it was intentionally autistic coded or not doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things like you said, her struggles with expressing herself and grappling with how she’s expected to do so resonate with a lot of people for a lot of reasons and that’s a really beautiful thing ^^ the Rina-Chan board really is distinctly her and I love it as an example of embracing who you are to do things your own way ^^
Rambling and probably not being very coherent (there’s a reason I tend to stick to a script in videos lol, though we’ve talked before you should be used to my incoherent rambling lol :p) but I loved this so much ^^
